Way too humble. Peter should plop you down in front of a camera more often. I think you did a great job, was very soothing to watch/listen to!

Always great to see video from Padmapriya. You have such a calming delivery. 🙏
Your analogy of leaves with solar panels is absolutely spot on. They are the energy factories of any plant turning sunlight into sugars and energy for the tree. ⚡️

A well spent half hour watching this, you did a great job.
If you permit me some feedback: don't apologise to the audience that the work you're about to present is not going to be very good or not as good as others. As you said at the end: all things have intrinsic value. The same goes for your own opinion about style. Aesthetic choices are subjective, no need to defend yours against phantoms. "This is my style" is the only justification one needs.

I've watched numerous youtubes and was pleasantly surprised to receive so many NEW tips. 2 small wires on one branch. Twisting when bending. Plucking out the foliage that is on the inside elbow. ...and more. You are very modest!
I like deadwood and love the shari you made. And yes, I can see a duplication of the direction of the shari and the branches.
    Love this. Please do more.

I’m glad that you finally agreed to Peter’s asking to making a video of your own, and I’d agree, not removing removing that branch was a good decision.
Peter has brought bonsai of its lofty pedestal by using his wisdom and experience to make it accessible to thousands.
I hope that you’ll be making more videos of your own in future though, as your informative, humble style bring us something fresh and, for me personally, make the goal of creating my own beautiful trees seem even more achievable.
    Thank you.

Something Karm, soothing the way you present Padmapriya, Peter has his style that is all his own, that I love to watch, him at work, fast, direct, full on, that comes from many years of experience .
You on the other hand are Kalm in what you do and how you speak. A good double act.
Oh the end result was a very nice tree that most people would be very happy to own.

Excellent job, beautiful transformation. Glad you kept the girdle root and strip of bark. Keeping it in the back balances
It’s appearance as 2 halves, on the proximal thicker curve to left and the thinner split branch to right of the trunk.

You've won me over to your method of instruction Padmapriya. I need to watch this again or more. The Hinoki Cypress is so my favourite shrub. At 20min. I could see a beautiful fully mature tree. Just a splendid looking tree. The removal of the bark of the large exposed root down to the Cambrian level is so cool. The idea of doubling up on that wire for the two branches is genius. The 'be or not to be' front branch' for me is (to be). Lastly, the teaching of the lower branch's as solar panels, what leave what to remove. My goodness. I have enjoyed this. Your softly spoken voice doesn't is as well. a good thing. Looking forward to seeing you again; hopefully, Canada
