  • MEETING OF MASTERS : BERLIN SEMINAR
    For the first time in Germany, Two combat arts from different parts of the Globe shared together their knowledge about the fighting styles of the Philippines and North India
    Tuhon Pat O'Malley - Rapid Arnis International
    Master O'Malley has over 30 years experience in the martial arts with over 30 of those years dedicated to training in the Filipino martial arts, Pat has trained with many top world recognised Masters of the art and his list of instructors reads like a who?s who of the FMA.
    After many years of study, Pat teamed up with another top UK Eskrimador John Harvey to devise and formulate the Rapid Arnis Systems as they both felt at the time the FMA in the UK was somewhat lacking when it came to teaching the general public the real art of the Philippines. Pretty soon Rapid Arnis became popular right across Europe and was recognised by many as being the leading group when it came to both the authentic Filipino martial art of Arnis / Eskrima and the sporting side of the art and to date has produced more British, European and World full contact Eskrima Champions than any other organisation in Europe.

    Gurdev Nidar Singh Nihang - Sanatan Shastar Vidiya
    Through twenty-five years of intense study and demanding physical training, Nidar Singh has managed to preserve this closely guarded art that has teetered on the brink of extinction for the last 150 years. He is the sole-surviving master and ninth teacher (gurdev) of a classical school of learning established in 1661, called the Baba Darbara Singh Shastar Vidiya Akhara, which is the last remnant of this ancient tradition.

    As for those who say this won't work on the streets well personal experience and working the doors for 15 years going up against a whole host of weapons. Single and multiple opponents tells me different.

    many of the people dont understand how these martial arts work, mma fighters are not trained to kill there opponents, these techniques especially shastar vidya are ancient and have been battle proven as kill actions... not for standing around and taking punches until one guy gets tired like boxing, ect.

      ***** Yeah because in a real fight a triangle choke works brilliantly. While outnumbered 2:1.

    • @majinkenshin911
      @majinkenshin911 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Learn boxing for what? To get knifed? Ring rules don't apply on the streets. There is no point of crying foul after getting knifed. A boxer/Muay Thai fighter cannot defend against a well trained fighter who has mastery in using sharp objects. Now don't say that using knives is unfair, unless you want be be called a sissy.

      ***** "you will not met knife master on the street kill with a knife does not require any skills all that is dream stuff"- Did you just say that? LOL. So are you saying an MMA guy can also use a knife with the efficiency of a knife fighter? Alright bro. Killing with a knife requires no skill eh? hahaha. Let me remind you. Weapons like Knives and swords are battle tested in ancient wars so let's not say that they require no skill. As far as modern day street fighting is concerned, you are right. We may not face a knife fighting master but that is not what we were arguing about. Our argument was about who is better in a street fight. MMA fighter or a knife bearing trained fighter. I bet my money on the latter. and FINALLY if you have any doubts about how inefficient your MMA fighters are, then please watch a video on youtube "MMA fighters Vs. Marines" and see how your MMA fighters got their asses whooped. A heavyweight fighter as famous as gonzaga ended up on his back in a stick fight.

      Mareșalul Alexandru Averescu. I completely agree with you. My only point is that MMA fighters cannot claim to be the best fighters in the world. In a street anything can happen. These masters above are atleast trained in weaponry, i'm not saying they will carry a knife at all times but they certainly know how to use one in combat. I guess if they happened to carry a knife in a street fight, they'd win. Although no one really carries a knife. Whole point being, MMA fighters are not ultimate warriors or survivors.

    firstly yes your right i have not ever been in a cage though i have done martial arts though currently i am not doing any at the moment because i am lazy and cant stick to anything, i love martial arts and think its great in all its form but my point was not to insult rather express my views on what would be practical for a real street situation and quiet frankly this stuff is not, you would need years (at least 3-5 years) of full contact sparring with those "techniques" of to half work the way

  • @chintansatyapanthi1
    @chintansatyapanthi1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah but it depends on the fighter, if anybody is outside of range of an mma fighter, all those kicks and punches wouldn't do anything. Besides, its about becoming fluid and dynamic in the fight which is why coordination and meditation is more important than just sparring. agreed, sparring conditions you for a fight and is indispensable, but i think you are just watering down the importance of techniques demonstrated here. because a fighter would set himself up so those "techniques" work.

  • @justforcommentsism
    @justforcommentsism 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    you want them to as shown in the demonstration above. secondly i assume your talking about the sikh instructor when you talk about the "guy .. got knives and blades all over him" though i might be wrong as the other instructor also has knives and blades. I have the up most respect for nidar singh nihang because i have watched other videos of him and he is trying to keep shastar vidya alive from extinction and trying to keep alive a historic part of sikhs but i stick to my original point would it

    ignorance at its best...good to have guys like you around for it is much easier for martial artists to beat the crap out of them. martial arts is not fighting it`s about conditioning one mentally and physically for real combat.

  • @RunningWILD555

    No. Rapid Arnis is not truly effective in a real fight for one simple reason. People who know how to use knives are not nice and use one clean swipe, they faint and faint and faint until you make a mistake or are too slow. waiting for them to get their strike off is asking to die. If you want to learn REAL self defense against weapons or fists it is historical European martial arts or nothing. The manuals were written by masters who had fought and killed in earnest, not in some dojo for money. This is clearest when he is getting attacked by the knife and just bats it away. In a real fight you NEED to gain control of that weapon or at least remove it from play, not just move it aside. And also in what fight are three men going to let you grab all their arms and just sit there as you grab the next guys? What would he do if a guy tackled him?

      What about blamin the "fighter", the Operator .. and not the Art ?! There is no doubt that those Filipino Styles work and worked. Everyone should know that the best option against a Knife is and always will be Nike and Adidas "Style" ... except Heckler&Koch or Sig Sauer if you see the knife early enough and or have more than 21 feet of room... ;-)

    in the cage probably but what if they go out to the real playground. the alleys, streets, marketplace, etc. where everything they pick-up can be their weapon from pens, knives, books, twigs, stones to dust, etc. see my point? these martial arts are for survival and not for bragging in the cage like a drugged gorilla.

      @@ranjodhsingh2391 lmao what have you been seeing. These techniques will get them killed in a street fight especially when the threat has a knife. The woosh and doosh with one hand and grappling 3 people at once with one hand is not going to be effective. Even how the fake nihang said not to fallback is the most stupid technique ever. Shameful af.

    This is legit the most fake martial arts i've witnessed go find a 9-5 job seriously. 5:40 onwards they all have another arm available while the coach is doing some bullshido type stuff, they could literally punch him all 3 at once lmao.

    People please don't waste ur time on giddar Singh he lied and said he was last Sikh warrior but there is tens of thousands of Sikhs who are much much more trained than him goddar only knows basic moves as he is a Hindu who converted to Sikh his teaching and voew on Sikh faith is seriously messed up! First thing is Sikhs do not sacrifice anything to any Hindu gods he knows this and thats why he wrote a written apology to Sikhs in punjab! Whilst in punjab he was challenged by a real Sikh nihang warrior who absolutely destroyed giddar hence putting his theory of being the last Sikh warrior in the trash wher he should be!!!! Real Sikh nihangs live in punjab Google them doing gatka too theres thousands of videos proper hardcore Sikhs in punjab especially the nihang warriors
