This art dates back to shiva. Thousands of years ago. U can search for his session on the channel Sirjan talks where he give a long session n explains about the origin of this art. The sikhs have used this art in battle field where a hand full of sikhs would destroy army of thousands of mughals (occupying force in india of that time)

Some people are just calling him names because he is quoting Hindu text or he being affiliated with Hindu organizations but Sikh martial art descended from Rajput martial art as such Sikhs descended from Hindus also they protected Hindus by fighting off hundreds of Muslim invaders solo .

Sikhs were born to shield the Indian realm from the incessant invasions of India that always came from the West of India (Afghanistan, Iran, etc) and always tried to break through Jammu and Punjab.

Early Hindu/sikh battle arts were to KILL as quickly as possible not to entertain. so all those a little taken aback by the question does it really work. should come to the field with an intent to kill or be killed and then gauge the effectiveness.

The problem with this type of training is that it's so slowed down against a willing opponent. No matter how many times you practice. It will never function the same way at full speed and ferocity as a real fight against someone that wants to take your head off.

This is only part of the art as it has both Kick boxing and ground wrestling aspect which is not shown here. Plus many BJJ and MMA guys have looked into this art and noted it's effectiveness.

I would like to see how an MMA fighter fights with edged weapons or kill system that focuses on neck snapping, Eye gouging and testicle ripping especially with the use of knuckle dusters and tiger claws.

The symbolism that you're referring to as being part of Hinduism, actually predates the very word or identity surrounding it, hindu only falls into a cultural or geographical identity, people later formed a religion out of it.
It was indeed sanatan shastra vidya only, guru gobind singh ji didn't invent a new fighting style out blue, he trained warriors in pre-existing sanatan shastra vidya only.. not just khalsa panth but every kshatriya practiced the same fighting style

You guessed it. He is playing around with basic martial arts fundamentals used in nearly every traditional karate like Kenpo, Aikido movements he used. Krav Maga evasion and jamming techniques and he is trying to come off as some guru.
I've been in Yoshukai karate, Kenpo, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Traditional Kickboxing and boxing as well as doing Parkour and modernized Ninjutsu.
Started when I was 16, lived on Thailand for 2 years and trained there as a student and assistant teacher. I'm 30 years old now.
These skills are not new or special.
@@AverageGabriel Sir I have to respectfully disagree with you. I trained with Gurudev a long time ago, I have an extensive background in martial arts, armed and unarmed. I still train even though I am 52. What he taught was largely alien to me coming from the chinese/japanese/filipino styles I had trained in. Obviously at the higher levels of most traditional martial arts one will see some similarity of techniques and movements, there's only so many ways one can kill a person. Believe me when I tell you this mans knowledge and fighting ability is extensive and deadly.
The system itself is a battlefield system, so mainly focused on weapons. But the multitude of subtle techniques he is utilising cannot be seen unless it is explained, which by the way he would gladly oblige at length in his classes, even after explanation one might not totally understand. Using the breath, shifting his weight, subtle footwork, spilling his mass, misaligning the opponent, being able to hit without being hit. I could go on and on, his knowledge was profound. To this day I have never forgotten him.
I respect where your observation is coming from, I used to think the same. But if you met him in real life you would understand where I am coming from.
