    I am
    Humbled as a Having done some martial arts originating from Korea and enjoyed it. Our own Sikh martial arts is obviously so much more better practical. This knowledge needs to continue and grow. Thanks for loading the video

    Great stuff, "breaking battli formation" is really impressive. a true martial arts for battlefields! Whether people had their heads covered or not did not distract me from the gist of this video.

      It depends which style you have trained. There are styles, which are more practical, but they are also a mixing of different styles.

    Would this be effective with the Kirpan Sikhs retain or would the curve of the blade make stabs impossible?

    • @karanbirsingh5963
      @karanbirsingh5963 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Amarjeet Singh curved swords stab pretty well. If the curve is more narrow, movement of the stab has to be also slightly changed. Not a big deal

    Shri Guru Gobing Singh ji - Sikh payara nahi mujhko - Maryada paayari .

    "Martial arts exist" was a logical premise from which, through deduction, your assertion "generally martial arts are bogus to a degree" was contradicted
    Look up "dhanurveda" for an ancient book on martial arts in India. It's pertaining to archery, but it is still martial arts.
    Shastar vidya' the terminology itself just means science of swords. It doesn't necessitate that those same words needed to have been used in previous records to prove that the art itself existed.

    To date the validity of SV has been judged by the excellence of its techniques and tactics by all those who have come and trained in it irrespective of its ancient history. This history in time will be presented in book form. Experienced combat martial artists from a long standing historical martial tradition can see the subtle nuances of the art, that others cannot, which are found or alluded to in the higher secretive teachings of their own art

    1) There are lots of texts/historical records/accounts
    2) Warfare exists. Techniques are employed in warfare. This is the definition of martial arts, Therefore it exists.
    3) The goal of warfare is to be victorious -> any individuals or army that employ martial arts believe it will help them be victorious. Yet all armies that engage in battle employ martial arts.
    4) If you think martial arts are bogus, try wrestling with a guy half your size that's been practising BJJ for 6 months

    It is sad SV detractors, who put on many guises, cannot stomach its growth in the world. There is an old Punjabi saying: “The dogs will bark whilst the elephants march on

    I don't know man... All this was used in battle, evolving over a 5000 year span. You can't use this in the MMA ring because there are lethal blows involved. You can't train one lesson and expect it to work in real life either.
