Best selling Datsun pick up in America - the 510. Five foot bed and 10 = 2 wheel drive. The 720 has a 7 foot bed and 20 = 4 wheel drive. The sedans and wagons' codes meant something completely different. This build is a pretty cool rendition of this timeless truck. BTW, in 1971 my dad bought the 1200 cc engine Datsun pick up. He put an 8 foot full camper in the "modified" bed (done with a cutting totch) and put 2 extra batteries on the front bumper to keep from doing wheelies.
I built this kit about 3 years ago during COVID when I was out of work temporarily. I built the last issued Aoshima kit with the blue truck for the box art. It had different wheels. More like a Dayton wire wheel (it has gold spokes). I painted the truck metallic black and added gold pinstriping decals. It went together quite nicely.
Another fun video, Chris. Always look forward to Wednesdays and Saturdays for another model video. I noticed another You Tuber who seemed to be taking pot shots of your videos. Seems strange to go out of his way to make a video just to take cheap shots. Fine if he doesn't like your videos but he didn't have to post a video. I love your videos just the way they are. Keep up the good work.

Color scheme looks amazing and those decals make it pop! I haven't seen this type of truck on the road for a while; i think it was the one they had in production when they made the name change from Datsun to Nissan in the early 1980s. Does Aoshima do a lifted 4 x 4 version of this like they do for the Hilux?
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving i am not to fond of the truck but i do like some of the parts would use the kit for that and the aftermarket dacals are really nice thanks for another great video love the paint scheme and the cool weathering effects have a good one looking forward to another video
Hello 👋 there again, I just wanted to let you know about a little trick I have seen 👀 that might be handy for you. Whenever you open up a box and find tires with raised letters that are not painted white there's a trick for that solution. Get a piece of white paper 📜🗞️ and spray paint it lightly with the white paint or brush 🪥🖌️ it on then carefully dab the letters on your side of the tire into the wet white paint 🎨 then bamm you should have tires with white wall letters neatly done ✅ let me know if it works for you. IIRC, the hole in the bed with the cover, is for people that do that to a pick up to show up the suspension to peeps at shows. Really cool build.
