Nice catch, I head the mistake in sprue shake down and laughed. Still great craftsmanship, and will not hate on the Bowties for not knowing the Chrysler Tell.
I’ve mentioned before, I used to sell Desert Dog tires. The PCV was a very short run but PCV stood for Pickup Camper Van and came in 10:00 or 12:00 x15 I still have one brand new 10:00 in-storage never been mounted gonna make a big wall clock out of it for my shop.
I didn't remember the decals and this kit until I got back to him this is a really excellent kid Ben Don't going to put the Chevelle back in the box and go to bed have a good night man
I haven't seen it personally, but I know that someone combined this kit with a D100 and something else in order to make a 78 Power Wagon. I'd really like to see a 40s or 50s Power Wagon.
The front axle and suspension are inter changeable with the d 100. The Mpc dodge truck kits of the 70s were kind of modular to keep tooling costs down. Matter of fact if got the latest realease of the 78 d100 it actually had a few of the 4wd parts included.
Did you know you can cut this truck in half behind the the cab and kit bash it with a Chevy tow truck model to make a dodge one ton wrecker and pickup trailer 😊
I had one of these. Bought it from the original owner in 1980 with only 11000 miles on it . I loved that truck. I'm sure gonna get the model. Nice job man.
Neighbor across the street had a new Lil Red. I was just 5th/6th grader. Loved the truck but dad laughed at him when he couldn’t get it out in the snow. Now I understand why. 2WD. But secretly my dad was probably just jealous! Great build as always, Chris! I’d love to see the Star Truk reissued sometime before I die. Love to try a Close Encounters of the Third Kind RR crossing Dio. But I’m not paying $300 on eBay for one!
A friend of mine built that scene and put it in a show last year, he even put the correct maps in it!! Sometime in the next month or two I'll put a picture of it up to advertise the contest for 2024 . It won best diorama
Excellent Dodge Warlock Chris! This bad boy is definitely on my list! It would be my first Mopar model build! I hope to see the Lil' Red Pickup out too!
I took one of these out in 1978 ,4x4 burnt orange. I dont remember any decals on the hood. This one was a 360 and it had a sticky throttle that turned me off. Wish I had it today ! 😅 great build.
See that two applications in one something that I might have thought of but not quite so quickly have both kinds makes them excellent thanks again for the tip
Did that turned out awesome! But I would have to resto mod. That's all I'm going to do mine will be great I already saw myself doing it as I was looking at the Chevelle and that looks great disappointed the decals weren't shipped in a separate container but yeah definitely good look at what's there made me look closer thank you
Very nice build. Triple black is the perfect color for the model. I really like your choice of decals. Very nice work on the bed rails, and the chassis. Thanks for sharing.
Just as soon as I seen the ragged Dodge, I knew Chris was going to have it looking great. Coming from a Chevy guy, I would love to have one of those in my model collection. Thanks for this video Chris. I'm just joking about the ragged part. I actually respect the Fords and Dodges when I go to car shows.
Wow that came out spectacular. Very nice job and a good lesson on decals. You can indeed make headlight lenses out of Modgepodge. Microclear seems to work a little better imho but costs a lot more. Just put some dabs or drops on a piece of waxed paper and pick the ones that came out the best and the right size. You can even press a grid into them with the right pattern tool. There's probably a better way but that's what I tried with good results.
I owned a black 77 4x4 Warlock. It had the 400 big block. It also had dual fuel tanks. It needed that extra tank to feed that big block. I didn’t care how much fuel it used though. I love that truck. I have this model on preorder. Still waiting for it.
I would definitely do it in the box art. I have no choice. I showed the thumbnail of this video to my wife and told her that the Warlock also came in Burgandy or a metallic green and she flatly said, "No. It has to be black. Just like the box!" 😯 Looks like I'm getting this model. (She also remembers the Little Red Express. She likes them and thinks they are cute.)
The distributor 28:03 in the front would be a big block I don't remember seeing a warlock but the little red Express was totally cool and should be reintroduced as a RAM I guess you could call those vinyl seats heated seats but only work in the summer lol
The old mpc power Wagon had 8 bolt wheels. I'm presently working on one, I switched the engine to a small block and automatically transmission from the Plymouth Valarie. And 3D printed tires.
It looks great, I will probably buy one. I believe that's a big block, dodge small blocks have the distributor in the back, big block 440,in the front. Just trying to help.
it wasent a 4x4 it was a regular pick up truck with a white camper on it that ya can take off ony time it had a 3i8 with a holly 4 barrel in it jut to show off a little , your one outstanding model builder keep up the good work ok
Chris thatt engine is a big block the oil filter and distributor is in the front all small block mopars the distributor is in the back and the oil filter is on the side of the block sorry been building mopars for 15 or so years
Are the clear headlight and turn signal lenses not the right size to fit, or alternatively the chrome grille assembly headlights and signals cannot be drilled out, and filled by the clear ones? I notice you didn't use them.
Interesting a 1977 not having Catalytic Converters. I was thinking they were required by 1975. Maybe it was different for trucks. Really cool to see this kit back? Out? Another kit I didn't know I wanted or needed until it showed up. Loved the music choice on this video: the Spaghetti Western feeling tune, the Daft Punk type groove, and your go to - what I think of as the "Civil War Soldier who survived the battle" piece. Last note: it was cool to see the new Revell Paint in action. It is good to see hobbyists have a new product come out when another company has phased so many of their's out, especially in terms of aerosol can options.
The engine in the kit is a big block. MPC sticks that engine in all the Chrysler kits except the Volare kit. For those who do not know. Chrysler big blocks the distributor is in the front. On a small block the distributor its in the rear.
My favorite part w\HpiGuy is "Build It The Way You Want! It Does Not Need To Look Like The Box!" Keep preaching to the choir man, Karen's and Kevin's are never gonna listen!!! I really enjoy you posts...wish you sold you finished products.
How do you get your kits to look so shiny? I'm a model builder myself and I've tried a Testors gloss coat on one kit and just plain old gloss paint on the rest and they didn't really look very shiny and I'd like to improve my skills so that the kits I want to look new get finished looking like they were fresh out of a factory. I'm trying to switch over to an airbrush but I still want to have a way of applying a gloss coat without having to clean the thing repeatedly.
Hi my name is Billy recently started watching your Channel and you're teaching an old dog new tricks how about the name of the glue the the brush glue that you use in the super glue you use please. Thank you very much it would be very helpful
It's not a 360. That's the 440 big block. The distributor is on the right front of the intake manifold. The small block distributor was in the center rear of the intake manifold (273, 318, 340, 360). My dad worked at our local Chrysler plant and I worked on enough Mopars that than I can even remember.
That's pretty sharp looking, It'd be nice if they made a model kit of the Dodge Ramcharger SUV 😊❤👍
Revell has re-leased them in the past
@purpurahaze9179 yep I've got two of them 😊👍
The engine is a big block. Chrysler big blocks have the distributors in the front. Keep the great videos
Nice catch, I head the mistake in sprue shake down and laughed. Still great craftsmanship, and will not hate on the Bowties for not knowing the Chrysler Tell.
Came here to say the same.
I didn't remember the decals and this kit until I got back to him this is a really excellent kid Ben Don't going to put the Chevelle back in the box and go to bed have a good night man
Looks great Chris!!!
Wish they still built trucks like that
That’s cool! Hope they come out with 77-78 Power Wagon. Wonder if one could splice together the D100 kit with the 4x4 parts of this one?
I haven't seen it personally, but I know that someone combined this kit with a D100 and something else in order to make a 78 Power Wagon.
I'd really like to see a 40s or 50s Power Wagon.
should work looks like the same chassis but this one might be shorter but the front axle parts should work on it
The front axle and suspension are inter changeable with the d 100. The Mpc dodge truck kits of the 70s were kind of modular to keep tooling costs down. Matter of fact if got the latest realease of the 78 d100 it actually had a few of the 4wd parts included.

Bought it from the original owner in 1980 with only 11000 miles on it .
I loved that truck.
I'm sure gonna get the model.
Nice job man.
Very cool Kevin, I always wanted one back in the day.
I see where you have critics. I'm a lot older than you and I personally have respect for your skills.
Professional as always 👍
What a TASTY TREAT ! !
Thank you to EVERYONE involved in bringing this to vieo ! !
Ooff can't wait to get my hands on this beauty!!!!
Damn that looks good Chris great job 👍👍
That larger fuel tank is for another version of the truck, it was a 3/4 ton off road version. It would be great to see that one re-released
Looks F#$KINGawesomely cool Chris love it an thanks for another nice build an as always thinks forthe time you invest in your video's for us 👍👍👍👍
That’s a nice truck got to get that one to build
Buy 2 of them, and make one into a "Little Red Express" 4x4. Love the Mopar trucks. Great work and a great video. Have a great day.
the little red express was two wheel drive they also had a midnight express
Put a '60s style frame in modded to that body you know like a resto mod that's what I'd see around the year that that came out. And like I said to new
Further I get into you this Chevelle the more I respect the manufacturing of it didn't mixed up like this when I was a kid haha made it funny
Chevelle is definitely a tight fit thanks for the heads up. Once again showing me what to do before I start thanks very much man.
Park the parts racks are laid out excellent
I really enjoy your channel Chris.
Great job. I learn something every time I watch.
Neighbor across the street had a new Lil Red. I was just 5th/6th grader. Loved the truck but dad laughed at him when he couldn’t get it out in the snow. Now I understand why. 2WD. Buy it , it’s just money , if it makes you happy 😊
Great build - the bed looks so good.
Excellent Dodge Warlock Chris! This bad boy is definitely on my list! It would be my first Mopar model build! I hope to see the Lil' Red Pickup out too!
love it great job
I have the real truck and it has come in so handy for my build of this kit!
chris, you have put out some nice builds, THIS is the nicest build i have ever seen you do
I took one of these out in 1978 ,4x4 burnt orange. I dont remember any decals on the hood. This one was a 360 and it had a sticky throttle that turned me off. Wish I had it today ! 😅 great build.
The front turn signals were clear or amber lenses. It depended what the sub parts provider made. Some came off the line with one amber and one clear.
Nice build. Thanks for sharing 👍🇦🇺
I have been wanting them to reintroduce this for ages! I almost never buy two of the same kit. Paused the video to preorder two. Great work!
I appreciate the skills and techniques, and a little friendly “finger-pop” for those doing extreme model scrutinizing.
See that two applications in one something that I might have thought of but not quite so quickly have both kinds makes them excellent thanks again for the tip
I'm sure I had this model as a kid in the 80's along with a Chevy Blazer
Just need the Li'l Red Express and Midnite Express now....come on Round2! 😉
Excellent video and build, as always! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Yes please!
A very nice truck, well done on the build.😎👍🏻
One of your "Top Ten" Builds since I have been following!!
The finish on this truck is excellent! I figure the stripes would be labour intensive to apply but they really make the all black finish stand out.
Always wanted a little red express! Oh well I'm not dead yet.Love this one!
They make a model of that from this kit😊
Great job, Chris! I hope they bring back the Express, too!!
Don't forget the Midnight Express. Great vid as always
I’ve been waiting for this kit for a long time. Definitely will be purchasing two or three of these kits.
My wifes great uncle has a little red express. Still looks like brand new! Hes close to 80 now
Wow that came out spectacular.
And yet again the liquid comb comes in very handy of course the rest looks exceptional also good mixing dry brushing is what you call that isn't it
I have never seen this truck, nice model kit turned out great
Well done Chris. Looks awesome.
That looks amazing, I like the hood decal delete look as well was thinking about doing the same thing. Have been waiting for this one for awhile.
Simply said, super build Chris!
Another great review mate
I owned a black 77 4x4 Warlock. It had the 400 big block. It also had dual fuel tanks. It needed that extra tank to feed that big block. I didn’t care how much fuel it used though. I love that truck. I have this model on preorder. Still waiting for it.
I received this model in the mail today. Can’t wait to get started on it.
Looks great Chris! Love that truck. Nice job Round2! Thanks for the review!
Great video Chris, keep em coming, I'll keep watching.
I would definitely do it in the box art. I have no choice. I don't remember seeing a warlock but the little red Express was totally cool and should be reintroduced as a RAM
I guess you could call those vinyl seats heated seats but only work in the summer lol
They some what did but they just called them express pickups
Definitely a 440
Just ordered this so I can make a shortbed truck out of it. Using the 78 2wd kit and cutting the bed down to fit.
Fantastic!
Great Build an what a Machine!
Beauty hpi.
I am so going to kit bash this. I want to make a US Army Dodge M880. So between this and the 78 D100 kit, I should be able to get close.
You'd just need 8 bolt wheels for the m880
@@eibenjohn1299 yeah, haven’t figured that part out yet.
The old mpc power Wagon had 8 bolt wheels. I'm presently working on one, I switched the engine to a small block and automatically transmission from the Plymouth Valarie. And 3D printed tires.
yep best truck I ever owned 20 years a go to day mine was a maroon color
On my "to get" list!!!!👍👍
Cool! I have a original issue of this truck unbuilt and i looks exactlly the same except its molded in black
Very nice build sir...lolll you make me just ordered one right after i seen your video...i hope i will build it right 😉🤞😀
Loved your description of how to deal with super nosy visitors touching models, in austalia that would come under the heading my house my rules😂
Another one right out of the park KUTGW
Well, in fact it is Wednesday! 🙂
They came in 2 wheel drive also
Seems like I building this back in the 80's as a kid.
we would hide cans of beer in the vent on the passenger side
Yes, slide the lil door to the left and they fit right inside
How about the pumpin iron version of the little red truck 😊
I have a die cast in this truck. This would be awesome kit
On the mopar engine’s if the distributor is in the front it’s a big block the small block had a distributor in the back
It looks great, I will probably buy one. I believe that's a big block, dodge small blocks have the distributor in the back, big block 440,in the front. Just trying to help.
What brand, of super glue, do you recommend? I've tried a couple of brands and haven't had a whole lot of luck.
I use Krazy glue brand
Chris uses Plastruct Bondene and dollar store Super Glue and Super glue Gel. I use them too with excellent results.
it wasent a 4x4 it was a regular pick up truck with a white camper on it that ya can take off ony time it had a 3i8 with a holly 4 barrel in it jut to show off a little , your one outstanding model builder keep up the good work ok
Chris thatt engine is a big block the oil filter and distributor is in the front all small block mopars the distributor is in the back and the oil filter is on the side of the block sorry been building mopars for 15 or so years
Okay got to respect Mopar definitely but out of my era that I'm looking at I'm looking at the muscle cars of the '60s Chevrolets and Dodges.
Came out good maybe they will bring back the Lil red truck they had so many other versions of the 77 dodge do you remember the monster version
Is panel liner better than just thinned out black paint ?
Would the hood decal be easier if it was cut down to the four lines?
Probably, but since I used enough water it slid on without a huge fight at all.
Damn that turned out great! Now did you brush on the Future or spray it on?
I not notice any models of double cabs pickup, s have round2model got any coming up in the future.
HI Chris, where do you get your Kaiser gel pens, specifically the silver ones? I'd like to try using some of those for dash detailing.
Hobby Lobby, they came in a set of about a dozen pens.
Thank you! I’ll go check them out!
Are the clear headlight and turn signal lenses not the right size to fit, or alternatively the chrome grille assembly headlights and signals cannot be drilled out, and filled by the clear ones?
I notice you didn't use them.

Distributor on the front of a Mopar engine = B or RB engine

That truck looks like it should have been in the movie No Country For Old Men

oh it had running boards on it aluminum with chrome mags
Hi my name is Billy recently started watching your Channel and you're teaching an old dog new tricks how about the name of the glue the the brush glue that you use in the super glue you use please. Thank you very much it would be very helpful
the base engine was a 360 for this truck same as the little red express truck a 360 v8
hello Chris you do a great job as always do you want to sell that one to me great video
Only warlocks got the wood bed side extensions, lre stacks would be in the way
how abought a 1976 dodge adventure with a miner an the left or right quarter panel by the tail gate best truch I ever owend
It's not a 360. That's the 440 big block. The distributor is on the right front of the intake manifold. The small block distributor was in the center rear of the intake manifold (273, 318, 340, 360). My dad worked at our local Chrysler plant and I worked on enough Mopars that than I can even remember.
the engine is not a 360 they have the distribuor in the back of the engine thy shoud correct it
Little Red was '78 and '79... FYI. No biggie
did anyone catch the color of the engine? i must have dozed off, it almost looks like turquoise
Supposed to be Chrysler Blue
And also the shifters are backwards, easy miss
