      Do you feel like this version using the straps is the best way to warm up the knees before doing split squats and other knees over toes exercises?

    • @dualwellness4658
      @dualwellness4658  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@keith606 Strapped is good, but to focus on getting blood flow to the joints I like to do a fast paced backward walk. There is quite a bit of resistance in the strapped version, so I would consider that more of a strength training exercise rather than a warm up.

      @@dualwellness4658 I appreciate the video. I was looking at some of the tyres because I have a unique mix of an incline, grass, cement and neighbours that hate noise - so it needed to be quiet across the concrete and not run away from me on the incline. I looked at dragging sand bags, just buying a 4 wheeled yard cart with a brake and unfortunately the torque tanks are out of my price range. It also would have needed to stay outside the whole time. I was thinking about just getting bigger and bigger tyres and maybe putting the eye bolt on the wall of the tyre so I could still tip it up and roll it around. But something like you have suggested here is so much easier. The same as you I was looking at these but could not get one with manual resistance. Once again I appreciate you doing the work for us.

    Your video inspired me to buy this treadmill about a year ago and I used it a lot until I had to have a total knee replacement. I tried running the straps like you show and it kept pulling my belt down so I now run my straps around the middle bar so the straps are not pulling down. I worried the handle mechanism wouldn't take the pulling force, but it is holding up nicely. Also, I had a hard time getting the belt to align properly. I could get it aligned when walking normally, but as soon as I try and go backwards it isn't totally aligned and I have to change my walk from one side of the belt to the other to get the belt to stay centered. I don't have to move left to right often, but 5-6 times over 2 mins. Finally, even with putting the lubing oil down periodically the belt seems like it is getting harder and harder to turn, even at the lowest setting and I am to the point where I can't free walk, I have to use the handle bars to help get any sort of speed and I am 260 lbs. Maybe I have the tension to tight from when I tried to align the belt when walking backwards. Have you seen this issue and if so, how did you correct it?

    • @dualwellness4658
      @dualwellness4658  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, your belt tension may be too tight. Also, you may have over-lubricated the belt and it is getting "gummy".
      The belt will shift if you are using the strap & belt method. It'l make a little noise once it starts rubbing against the wheel, but isn't really hurting anything. I haven't found a way to fix this issue and just chalked it up to something you have to deal with at this price point.

    Great video. I have a similar treadmill and inspired by your video I tried something that I think works if you don't have a belt and rachet straps. You can just stand at the base of the treadmill with both feet off the treadmill, lean forward and hold the handles and then one leg at a time push the belt away from you with the other leg off the treadmill. On the high resistance setting it only takes about six reps before I'm ultra slow due to muscle fatigue.

    How about a band around the waist hooked behind you as you sprint forward? Should increase the resistance so the belt spins faster, giving you room to pump your arms, but also giving you the stretch of the band so you don't feel 'locked down' if you were using a strap.

    I’m shorter and put an elastic band across the handrails and I can walk backwards leaning against the bands and have the treadmill on the highest resistance.

  • @rileyaustin702

    Thank you so much for this advice! Do you think it would be possible to connect the dip belt to a cable machine for additional weight resistance?

    • @dualwellness4658
      @dualwellness4658  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem Riley. I kind of understand the cable machine idea, but a fixed point is the most simple solution for me.

    Thank you for the video. If you were getting ether this or a tank m1 would you have a perspective on which would be preferable/more enjoyable and challenging? Probably could get 10 mo per year outdoors although this solution does come at a lower price point. Getting too crowded in the gym for two pieces of equipment.

    • @dualwellness4658
      @dualwellness4658  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would probably prefer to be outdoors on a sled if you have a good area to do it. It's also nice to have an indoor option in case it's dark or inclimate weather.

    Just assembled mine & I'm TOTALLY digging it. Actually enjoying it much more than I thought I would. QUESTION..... How much lube did you put under the belt?? I added a little bit 4x already, but the running board still feels dry to me. Bottle is at around 50% capacity now. Did you use the whole bottle / most of it, for the initial lube??

    • @dualwellness4658
      @dualwellness4658  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe I used the whole bottle. You may need to loosen both the rear tensioners proportionally.

    really great how much use the device brings for the low price. i live in germany and the device is unfortunately not available here. i had otherwise liked to try it. the s-drive from matrix is known to me for a long time and i play with the idea to buy it used for about 1500 euro. the space requirement and the low mobility are however really a counter argument.

    • @dualwellness4658
      @dualwellness4658  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like I said in the video, if an outdoor sled isn't an option, I believe the investment in something like the s-drive would pay for itself. If money is the issue, make sacrifices for a short season to scrape the money together. Find ways to make more and spend less. Thanks for watching!

    Great video! 1. Do you know if walking backwards at the built in 13 degree angle of the treadmill affects the desired result much? 2. Do you think it would be possible to raise up the back of the treadmill onto a box / platform to level it out for backward walking?

    • @dualwellness4658
      @dualwellness4658  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like the angle of the treadmill. I think it adds a good level of strain and mobility for the feet and calf/tib. The back could be raised up to be level, but I think it would take some heavy modification, as there is a strut underneath that tries to raise up the platform if it is not in the down position. Thanks for watching Mitchell!
