    I was a solo hiker for several years, reaching good elevations too (~19,000 ft) and then during COVID, I literally did not move for 2 whole years. That totally destroyed my fitness, and your video not only re-motivated me, but also gave me a really good goal to follow as I try to get back to normal life as I knew it. Thank you!

    Just finished the full workout for the first time. Wow! I‘m sweating buckets and all I can remember is that pain from the Finisher. Love it!

      I‘m preparing for a Full Mountaineering course and started doing this in addition to my usual Crossfit and Functional BB routine. Really good workout!

      What's up Ovi! Glad you liked the workout, I've got a whole bunch more, send me an email or a msg on insta And I'll get you a link to another one that's not publicly listed on TH-cam ;) Doing a course is a great choice to get started on your mountaineering career! I'll look forward to following your progress!

    Got 6.5 sets on the 20 minutes and was totally gassed. The wrap up was really tough, needed to rest between the sets. It was the perfect intensity and something to work towards.

    Thank you very much for posting these videos! After I finish my school graduation, I will get fully into these workouts and tips. I think they will be very useful for my Romania trekking trip in the month of august. Greetings from the Czech republic

      Nice one man! Did you find it a lot harder than the other hiking related one I posted? This on naturally should be a bit more challenging. Also I'm about to post my deadlift tech video so keep an eye out for that!

    Hey, I tried it. My heart was pounding at the end of finish though I am a marathoner, super strength workout! A question.
    I want to add
    1) Push ups
    2) Leg Calf exercise (like leg calf raise )
    3) Hand finger strength exercise.
    Where in this schedule and which exercise I can add in?

    Call me an idiot if you must but how does doing pullups contribute to hiking up a mountain. I would do a lot more long distance cardio. But people don't want to because they find it boring.

    • @ChaseMountains
      @ChaseMountains  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Great question. If you do a pullup correctly its a total body exercise, but primarily it builds strength in the back and also the shoulders. This is important for carrying heavy loads in your backpack. Also for certain types of mountaineering, you'll be on more vertical terrain which will involve a lot more upper body strength.

      I worked in a CrossFit gym for 5 years. What I learned is that in order to become truly strong (and injury free) speed has to be earned through quality of movement.
