Loved watching this series, loved the itinerary and the ship looked amazing and all the food. Great value with the all inclusive fare. After seeing how good this particular ship is, we are now looking at a Caribbean itinerary for beginning of December. Thanks for the all the info 👏
Awww it was great to meet you!!! Thank you for adding us. Audrey & the "big one" Tony 😂. We had an amazing two weeks. We gain so much from your blogs, your great fun too. Say "Hello" to Matthew!!! 😂😂😂
Looks amazing and I love the itinerary - so much that I've just been online to check out solo cruises with Marella later this year...I'll keep you posted - I've never been on a cruise before and am single / solo, so it's always seemed something that couples do - but I can see now that it's absolutely cool to go alone, though it is definitely more expensive if you want a balcony - which I absolutely would.
Great vlog as always. We did Istanbul as part of a 21 day cruise in June 22. It was the least wheelchair friendly city (for my wife) of all the 16 stops. Lots of steps, unbelievably busy and queues were horrendous. Was supposed to be a 10 hour trip but the tour guide managed to leave us and others behind after 3 hours and after an hour of waiting and hoping we managed to get back to the boat with a very nice taxi driver...
I’ve only just got round to watching this as I had lots to catch up on after the olympics and now we have the paraolympics starting tonight I don’t how I’m going to keep up I’ve watched more sport in the last month and a bit than I’ve ever watched but I also have a lot of your older vlogs to catch up on too. The itinerary of this sounds good I haven’t tried Marella yet only been on Royal Caribbean and P&O. I must try them sometime. Look forward to watching the rest.
After never cruising we really like the look of marella. We are booked on arvia in october p&o so will see fir ourselves what it has to offer but 100% trust your judgements. Another great TR Jamie cant wait for part 2
Cracking vlog. As usual you strip things right back to basics which not only helps anyone new to cruising but even if they've never flown before! Usual mix - informative and cheeky fun. Thanks for choosing the Istanbul tour. Never been so a great insight. Waiting patiently to see Boscada and Rhodes! 🇹🇷
Really enjoying this! Lovely to see some parts of the world I’d like to visit in the future. Love the fact you mention suitability of excursions for people with mobility issues - like me!
Completely phenomenal vlog. Once again, I feel like I'm on the trip. You have absolutely made the case for Marella for me - now to find an itinerary (shouldn't be all that difficult).
You are an amazing vlogger Jamie , so informative with the touch of humour. I will be on Discovery 9 this September and you have made me so excited for it.! Best wishes from North Yorkshire 💓
My word, Jamie, you find the best cruises! And you are totally converting me to the idea of fly-cruise, which I’d barely even considered before watching some of yours. I love that this ship is smaller than the monstrosities they are building nowadays - and it still looked quiet enough, which suits me. We’ve got two cruises from S’hampton already booked but after that I’ll be torn - Cunard transatlantic or Marella next, hmmm…?
I loved seeing Istanbul through your eyes. Truly a city that straddles east and west. And , yes, the food is fabulous. It was in the Grand Bizarre that my guide introduced me to Turkish coffee, which I absolutely loved. When freshly ground and made the Turkish way,, not at all bitter. Until then, I was afraid to try the coffee because I heard how bitter it was. But when made the Turkish way, it’s really beautiful. A wonderful video … as always.
Was thinking about doing this cruise thanks Jamie excellent as usual. Still can't believe you haven't got 100,000 followers. Eager waiting for your next Vlog
Loved your vlog especially your thoughts on Istanbul. Going out there in a couple of weeks and your tour was a bargain. The admission charges for the main sites have rocketed this year with the palace being £40 on its own and Hagia Sophia is now 25 euros. Turning Hagia Sophia back to a mosque and the admission charge has been controversial with it now being poor value for money. I will be interested to see what you think about Bodrum as I loved it. It was a last minute choice in 2020 as restrictions meant that I could not get to Greece. Whilst you are still in Turkey try some of their tea. Really refreshing in the heat and the Turks drink as much as we do. Goes down a treat with some baklava or kunafe.
Hi Jamie looks an amazing cruise beautiful ship the food looks delicious the cabin looked great too Istanbul looked very interesting all them shops heaven lol enjoy the rest of your cruise ❤
Loved this Vlog Jamie. I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now. I have never been on a cruise before but this particular Vlog has got me thinking - and tempted!! I live in Gibraltar and we welcome lots of cruise liners here. Even Marella!! Gib is on one of their itineraries! I liked the vibe of the ship and am sorely tempted. However, I would be a solo traveller, (I'm a widow). Now this may sound like a dumb question. But I don't have a credit card. I know that a credit card is a requirement in many places, eg car hire. Would this be an issue on a cruise?
Great video. I was getting deja vu till i realised some footage was from embarkation and cabin videos phew 😂. Marella looks a lovely ship- is that the RC throwback or are other Marella ships similar? We are on a turkey/greek islands/sicily cunard cruise soon so very interested in your excursions. Your indian meal looked yummy. 😋
Really enjoying your Marella experience as decided to forget QM2 cruise as just to many better and cheaper options available. Sorry to ask but have Marella sponsored your cruise re all the attention from staff you get, because cruise looking great and with drinks included (definitely premium for price). Looking forward to seeing more thanks Jamie as always Tony
Staff didn’t give me extra attention lol 😂 They were amazing with passengers - I always make a point of watching / listening out to see how consistent they are. Drinks are included in a Marella cruise.
@@TravelBlogJamie That’s Great Just Booked a Cruise from Southampton on Ventura Oct 25 7nights Spain and France, in a very aft cabin under £2000 inc the premium drinks package so well pleased as going solo. Wait, they do still do the carbonara with the big cheese wheel?? I thought I read/watched somewhere that they didn’t do that anymore. The fact they do thought has made my day!
@@TravelBlogJamie you absolutely did.. I’m also positive that it was your previous trip on discovery (to America) where they didn’t do the carbonara with the cheese wheel. I’m so glad they’re doing it again though.
Probably too early to ask but which ship do you prefer so far - Voyager or Discovery?! Also, was there an adult only seating part like Voyager? Hats off for solo travelling, I wish I had the courage lol
Discovery my preferred (not sure if you’ve seen I’ve been on discovery 3 times). An unofficial adults section at the aft with the pods and glass house area adults only in the afternoon.
Out of curiosity, how long on average does dinner in the main dining room take? I’ve been on some ships where it takes on average a minimum of 1.5 hours, which I find excessively long. Not been on a TUI cruise … yet. I’ve had my eye on them for Greece and the Adriatic.
Great video. If i may make a comment, many of your latest videos are coming across with a yellowish background. i would upgrade my camera to a gimble camera because your content is fantastic. it's just a comment. Stay well 🎉🎉🎉
No, that’s just on a few scenes actually from a filter I put on myself (you’ll notice it’s in the cabin) where the lighting was poor - no upgrade needed
