    A brilliant introduction to the game of bridge and a tempting challenge and invitation to all those who have experienced the thrill of matching wits against one another and ridden high on the euphoria of having outwitted an opponent in a game fiercely fought with intellect, patience, logic, sharpness of mind, strategies and precise execution. I for one, had hitherto held the belief that chess was the ultimate game. After listening to Mr. Sunil Varghese, I’m thinking of finding someone who would help me learn to take baby steps in bridge.

    Great player with a piece of great advice to the public that all that's important is to invest in converting information into knowledge. In the end, he performs a mindblowing magic performance to tell us that opinion can be manipulated too if one has the skill to modulate recommendations accordingly! A classic demo to prove that opinions also ave some statistical significance and it is never random.

    Being an avid bridge player and being good at it, I can only state "Go is the ultimate mind game". What draws players of other mind games (like chess) into bridge is the fact it is a team-sport adding social aspects to it.

    13:27 Interesting how people in South Asia (India, Japn, China etc) shuffle cards this way, commonly called a Hindu Shuffle or an Arab Shuffle.
    While most people in western countries shuffle very differently. Usually the standard overhand shuffle.

    Let me disagree on the entertaining aspect as well as the extraspecial wisdom of bridge. Bid Whist is definitely greater for it allows the upside down seniority of cards. Preferans is greater for it allows to play misere. Certainly, there's a lot of analysis involved. But, man, so is in the classic card game of piquet where there're such curious situations possible (with only 2 players, no trumps, no bidding) you can't imagine in bridge, at all.
    Bridge of any kind sure fits great for businessmen. Does it make it the greatest game? NO!

    • @sunsamvar
      @sunsamvar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bridge is developed from whist and to that extent being more modern, should be more challenging ( tho i must admit i dont play whist)... and individual games are individual games that does not test or improve a persons partnership and team skills
