25:52 DON'T ignore the red centipedes, they are super easy to get free points from. Basically what you need to do is throw a spear at the red centipede, and then if you ascend it, it will give you the points because the damage from the spear counts as kill credit. The spear doesn't even need to do damage, it just needs to hit the centipede.
No... No... UUUURGHHHH, I beat the challenge an hour ago! Took me exactly 87 tries, I'll keep this in mind for next time... T.T What I did was I killed firebugs and used their eggs to target miros vultures and red lizards as they are a confirmed kill once the egg sticks.
i noticed in challenge 62, putting one artificer into a pipe gives you a few seconds to freely control one without worrying about the one in the pipe. Super useful tip
I accidentally found out on challenge #13 ''Little Bites'' that you can grab onto Jetfish and just beat the living life out of the Vultures since Jetfishes do actual impact damage when colliding with their heads and after a few little bumps you can grab as many popcorns as you wish.
also remember that in #56: Stygian depths has these Max Karma etchings in the backdrop (seen at 25:43) that replenish the ascended timer for extra movement. i didn't know this for my play through of this challenge either. also the starting location ( bottom-left) is one of the few places in that map that doesn't have wall backdrops so hanging by the tongue in that area prevents -most- creatures from being able to climb and reach you.
they aren't just in the challenge mode, these appear all over in Rubicon. They also reset your karma to max in Rubicon. Sitting on top of one essentially gives you infinite ascension power.
The funny part is that when i was passing the infinite utility challenge i didn't pay attention to popcorn plants and just killed the red bluntly with the spear i was given. I thought it was a tutorial on the increased damage gourmand does but ....I did everything wrong lol
For challenge 64, Lizards Reloaded, there is a shelter in the top left that has a longer tunnel to camp from. This place is better in basically every way, it's easier to get to, has a bend for hiding, and a block to pummel lizards against. Also, interestingly enough, if you injure a lizard and leave the tunnel, the injured lizard will go into that tunnel because it was where it last saw you. If you can get a lizard in that pipe, you can pummel it super easily to get a free kill (and meal).
For challenge 57, this is a little bit more of a touchy/subject-to-failure way to do it, but if you like Scavengers and don't want to hurt them, you can buy the pearl from whichever one is carrying it for two explosive spears and a beehive!
For the last challenge, it should be noted that in the 6th phase, even after the shields come down and you get the ascension off, the last of the orbs flying away towards the wall can still kill you. Found out the hard way :/ Try to stay in the very middle of the waving orbs while/after doing the penultimate ascension, until they're all gone.
I’m just midway thru on my first play through of the game and it feels like a distant dream to actually get to those challenges but when I do it’s gonna be a party mark my words
i find all the riffle challenges hilarious. especially since you go into the challenges thinking it's gonna be just base game stuff. and well, it kinda is. and then they hit you with the riffle
7:15 WOOWW not only i didn't know that we can drown the vultrure grub but also that we can kill eggbugs with jellyfish i was waiting the vulture to kill the eggbug lol, all the challenges teach SO MUCH about neat mechanics, damn, even with 200+ hours in this game i was clueless about so much stuff i'm gonna comeback in this video if i get stuck again, i want to try and experiment every challenge myself first
Pretty sure you can also get 15 points from a vulture for the monks food thing, by just stunlocking it will a jellyfish and throwing a rock at it, the rock (aka bubble fruit) is just so it counts on you for the kill. I just killed the aquapedes normally by going in their face with a spear underwater for challenge 38, they're pretty easy to kill
This is an incredible guide, very well made with some great tactics and advice! Along with all the other great advice in the comments, there is also a strat for #25 (Babysitting) found by Moondrupe. If you grab two pups and then chuck both while in the exit pipe, 1 of them gets stuck. This effectively lets you deal with 4 less pups making the corner strat in your video much easier.
Challenge 57 (The Stash) can be done in a much simpler (yet more evil) way: Pick up some spears from the ground and drop them in front of scavs to befriend them (keep your distance first though and be ready to dodge spears). Repeat the gifting with everything thats free to take and they become friendly (much faster than for the normal hunter campaign). Then get a bomb and backstab them with all you have.
Great guide! Cheers bro! It was super helpful for some of those challenges where I was scratching my head (i.e. Artificer parries, Gourmand crafting etc.). Challenge 70 was downright sadistic!
Cheesy/Alternative Tips for Challenges 13 (Little Bites), 35 (Sheep Dog), Challenge 32 (Hard Boiled), and Challenge 26 (Noot Scoot) : Little Bites: As a comment below mentions, you can grab a Jetfish and use it to attack the Vultures, as they deal contact damage and is surprisingly safe to do. Additionally, if you can manage to knock a Vulture's mask off with a spear, the other Vulture will kill it, leaving only one Vulture left to manage. While annoying and probably inconsistent, you can also hide and leave this challenge running for a few hours, as sometimes the Jetfish will kill the Vultures on their own. (It worked the one time I tried this). Hard Boiled: As mentioned, the mother is not aggressive with an egg in your gun, so store all the eggs in your gun and fire them at the travel pipe to the right, trying to get as many on that small ledge in front of it as you can. Once all six are fired, drop the gun, grab two and travel back and forth through the pipe, eating in the sparing moments of safety. Sheep Dog: For those who are past the point of playing fair, you can throw the Lantern Mouse into the top right escape pipe and with the right throw it should clip into the map, making it so you only have to worry about your own survival. Noot Scoot: Killing the Eggbug before anything else is the right move. Crafting a Noodlefly Egg and one of the Eggbug's eggs together creates a baby noodlefly, so you don't have to hunt or catch them. Eating these along with the Adult Noodleflies should reward you with more than enough points to pass.
I have completed the 69 challenges. Now I have to complete the last one, the bossfight against Sliver of Straw. It will take a long period of time, but will be worth it
First of all, don't make these type of videos again! (just following your plea! 😅) Second, love it. ❤ Thank you very much, helped me with a few strategies here and there! Third: If you switch the timestamps with the names you can have TH-cam generate chapters for you making it easier to find a specific challenge without having to look into the description. (You just have to have the first on as 0:00)
40:13 side note: the cheese strat mentioned here isnt 100% reliable - it'll work most of the time but there is still a chance of the lasers detonating right on top of you, and this has happened to me on multiple attempts Still good to keep in mind if you struggle with the phase, but you are kind of leaving your fate up to RNG in this case
This is a very well made guide and very insightful. There is one problem, it had the opposite intended effect on me. Im now inspired to not do the challenges. This looks miserable
I'd recommend trying some of them, especially the combat ones if you enjoy the tricky combat, but if you'd rather not stress about getting them all done, there's no actual reason you need to get them done. It doesn't unlock anything. So if they aren't fun to you, just don't do them.
@@jeweleitri4111 I did get quite a few done and they were pretty fun, but some of these don't seem enjoyable at all. Maybe when I get a better gaming setup I will try to complete them all
Wait- theres a popcorn plant in the Gourmand vs Red Centipede challenge---------???? I thought you were supposed to beat it with only the spear to damage the red centipede and gourmands superslide to damage it, which is what i did. It took me an hour.
rip lol Yeah the idea is you get infinite popcorn plant uses to get explosives/spore puffs to kill the centipede with, hence the name. I had gotten it stuck and speared it to death one time though, sounds pretty rough to do without getting it stuck.
I mean, it was kinda fun at least, as long as Gourmand didnt slide on top of the centipede, which is guaranteed failure if its still on high hp so like 3 spearhits is preferred before trying that. Also involves a lot of pipejuking to get the spear back
Little bit of added tips from my experience playing through most of the challenges so far. For 19, Deadly Traps, I found one of the best ways for me was to use debris to kill some bat flies at either side, get a single dropwig to follow me by long-jumping under it, immediately catch on a pole (best on the right side from the cube platform) and head upwards, then go down another path, hopefully avoiding Miros Birds. The dropwigs struggle a little at the tops of the tunnels, and if they go up to follow you, will sometimes get snatched by a Miros Bird, making it a little easier to get around, because there's one fewer dropwig. (If you can get rid of two or sometimes three this way, even better. More than three is usually just a big waste of time, cause they aren't that hard to navigate around.) For 54, Flaming Pursuit, I found a great way was to hit them with a rock, then duck into a tunnel. They'll follow, often get stuck at the other side, giving you a chance to go, grab a grenade, and either sneak up to throw from someplace else (you can hit them through thin walls/floors with explosion!), or pop through tube, throw, immediately pop back through (but you do sometimes die like this). But your way seems more reliable. Oh, and once you get a fire spear, those are super useful for killing them. 62, No Moving Back: If you can get the left two on the same upwards pole, you can actually get them in the exact same place, making platforming much easier. 64, Lizards Reloaded: I found one of the best ways was to stand on the poles near spawn once you've got a lot of ammo, because you can often stunlock a lizard above or below you and just pelt them with rocks, and there's plenty of space to get away should you get surrounded by yellows. 65, Armor Piercing Rounds: If you can get it to go up to the middle, you can spear it from the right and get it stuck to the middle platform, giving you lots of leeway to hit a lot of the more difficult to reach shell pieces. Sometimes hard to hit the ones around the top if it doubles over on itself. Also will eventually fall off with enough spears, so if you can't hit a specific spot cause of how it is.
I keep crashing in the Micro-Ecology challenge. 💢 It's frustrating enough dying as much as I have without being forced to reboot the entire-ass game. Lol
4:57 - I've beaten this challenge in ultra greed mode - i just tossed one fruit (it counts as a stone when it's dry) in a kelp to beat the shit outta it and got this fruit when it was stunned/pissed off
on challenge 24 i just repeatedly rolled into the red centipede cause i didnt know about the spore puff thing, its actually pretty easy to kill it that way
For full stomach (monk) i was grinding it for nearly two hours because i was trying to get the vulture to eat the eggbug. I only realized the jellyfish worked when i hit it by accident.
Why is Sliver's 4th attack so impossible? The beam and the circles are unsynchronised, the telegraphy for the circles is almost useless, because you can't change the direction of your momentum much or else your charge just dips, the beam's hitbox is utter bs so you can't fly in narrow circles for a relative success rate. And to even have a chance to practice it for a few seconds you have to spend minutes doing the first monotonous and boring phases. Like, it's not even hard, it's just random and mean at this point. Or i might be just bad at game
It's pretty rough, getting good at using flight to change your momentum and instantly cancel to avoid losing much charge is really important for that phase. It is, ultimately, pretty RNG heavy, and the worst part is it's not even the hardest phase - to then have a chance to practice phase 5, you have to get through phase 4. Recognizing that the beam is an explosive at the end of the beam and a stun up close it helpful, and I think being in flight when the stun would hit you mitigates it a bit.
@@sorbetcafe Thanks, i think i got the hang of it, also yesterday i beat SOS and died to leftover projectiles lol Edit: i beat it, thanks for the help!
imagine if challenge 70 was canon :skull: (never played saint before) but imagine saint visits moon and moon talks about how maybe sliver of straw should rest in peace and saint gets war flashbacks
For Challenge #67 Extreme Multitasking (32:45), you can safely take two (or even 3 if careful) slugcats out of the equation by climbing up the left pole and just holding up at all times to have them cycle the pipes.
lol for fair trade I just smacked em with the unpopped bubble fruit edit: jesus I didn't even notice the popcorn plant in infinite utility, I just killed the centipede with the singular spear
I came here for specifically Precarious Danglefruit. The rest can generally be figured out with enough trial and error (sometimes luck), but that one was just a pain, to me. Did not want to spend hours figuring out precisely how to use the limited resources.
challenge 66 tip is impossible, you can't jump while holding shooting button, but if you use move keys, your gun will change direction. Such BS mechanic where you movement and gun direction tied together. 35:16 I don't know how heck you can just do that on demand. There is also another problem when ever you aim down or diagonally down - your slugcat will lay down, making it 100% impossible without jumping 1st
For challenge thirteen, you can kill the vultures by repeatedly hitting them with the jetfish, which is really safe because of how fast you are while holding one
It's really brutal, I wish there was a better strategy I could give but you just have to master zero gravity movement and fly in the safe spot. Hope you can get it!
I found that it's basically necessary to learn not only how to move in short bursts of ascension, but also how to stop in place, which can be practiced in the first phase without too much punishment. Also, even near the end of the phase, try not to use ascension unless you really need too and just spam tung instead. There's also a small slightly lighter grey area of background that can be used in the start of the phase to see where the centre of the safe zone is going, but it ends up not being that useful once you get the hang of phase 5. Above all though just trying and trying again and again will get you there eventually
18:50 having a problem with this, apparently the rarefaction cell just works differently or simply doesn't work at all in this challenge. No way I can jump over a DLL or this simple immobile rot because it's just a visual distortion with no effect at all
Challenge 54: 1)Throw 3 eggbugs in water to immobilize them 2)Kill 4th eggbug to get a lot of fire-eggs 3)Throw those fire-eggs to immobilized bugs in the water (3-4 should be enough).
Because of lots of practice to always talk like this, to be a "femboy", and to sound "cute". Apparently it's a common trend among guys trying to present as "femboys". (In quotes because it's a specific thing, not just a boy who is fem.) It's very much a deliberate choice. I personally don't like it and think it makes him really hard to understand (I'm so glad the Closed Captions mostly can), but I guess some people find it cute?
Honestly, don't try to complete all the challenges unless you have a ton of time or are interested in 100%ing the game. Expeditions are way more fun and a much better arcade mode imo, most of the challenges (especially the later ones) are hard for the sake of being hard. They are less fun and more of a chore to complete.
And not even always hard so much as complex or meticulous. And sometimes require you to be very precise and follow nearly exact methods of doing them, as opposed to the usual option of dealing with stuff several different ways. Totally reasonable if people get frustrated or don't want to do them.
what do you mean the achievment you get for getting all other achievement is "one of the rarest from this game"? if it's not THE rarest then none of them are rare lol.
You don't need to earn every other achievement, for instance I haven't gotten martyr yet, you just need to beat most of the campaigns and all the challenges. I still don't really know what expedition leader is or why 0% of people have is but it's the only one listed as rarer/fewer people having it.
25:52 DON'T ignore the red centipedes, they are super easy to get free points from. also remember that in #56: Stygian depths has these Max Karma etchings in the backdrop (seen at 25:43) that replenish the ascended timer for extra movement. i didn't know this for my play through of this challenge either.

You don’t have time to mess up.
Saint: but I’m not hungy…
I keep crashing in the Micro-Ecology challenge. 💢 It's frustrating enough dying as much as I have without being forced to reboot the entire-ass game. Lol
4:57 - I've beaten this challenge in ultra greed mode - i just tossed one fruit (it counts as a stone when it's dry) in a kelp to beat the shit outta it and got this fruit when it was stunned/pissed off
Oh, for infinite utility, i just speared it to death after rolling into it and slide-stunning it a few times.
EPIC
on challenge 24 i just repeatedly rolled into the red centipede cause i didnt know about the spore puff thing, its actually pretty easy to kill it that way
19:48 you can also use the tunnels to stop a slugcat from moving for a few seconds
For full stomach (monk) i was grinding it for nearly two hours because i was trying to get the vulture to eat the eggbug. I only realized the jellyfish worked when i hit it by accident.
Great guide. But there's one big problem: my skill issue
Bro what took ya so long to come out with this? XD
Thanks though, I was stuck on Gourmands crafting challenge.
there are a lot of challenges and it takes a longgg time to script, record, and edit all of that
@@sorbetcafe Don't worry, it was a /j. Good job!
@@sorbetcafe Thanks, i think i got the hang of it, also yesterday i beat SOS and died to leftover projectiles lol
Edit: i beat it, thanks for the help!
imagine if challenge 70 was canon :skull:
(never played saint before) but imagine saint visits moon and moon talks about how maybe sliver of straw should rest in peace and saint gets war flashbacks
For Challenge #67 Extreme Multitasking (32:45), you can safely take two (or even 3 if careful) slugcats out of the equation by climbing up the left pole and just holding up at all times to have them cycle the pipes.
4:30 Quick note: You can use these dry bubble fruit as really fast rock, this is how I managed to get the maximum point win on this challenge.
lol for fair trade I just smacked em with the unpopped bubble fruit
edit: jesus I didn't even notice the popcorn plant in infinite utility, I just killed the centipede with the singular spear
Ive gotten a vulture mask and explosive spears as monk-
I cannot beat challenge #49 because the miros birds fly away and never come back.
good to know this exists, gonna try not to use it but Ill be here if gets too much for me lol
Bruh for infinite utility i didnt even notice the popcorn and just killed it like that... took me so many tried and my sanity
Question is the lizard at the very end of the video yours? Cuz it was just adorable
13:36 ah yes G U N
This very helpful for a new player thank you
For challenge thirteen, you can kill the vultures by repeatedly hitting them with the jetfish, which is really safe because of how fast you are while holding one
TIP FOR LITTLE BITES: YOU CAN KILL THE VULTURES WITH THE JETFISH
I'm still stuck the the 70th challenge, the 5th phase is just too hard
Above all though just trying and trying again and again will get you there eventually
challenge 70 makes me wish I wasn't a completionist
I did find a better phase 5 strategy if it helps, you can see it in my most recent video
@@sorbetcafe I did see it but phase 4 is keeping me from using the strategy, ive only reached phase 5 once cuz of the dumb rng
@@sorbetcafe or im not very good at phase 4 and dont know how to effectively avoid both attacks
@@sorbetcafe just beat it thanks to the strategy thank you so much!
The way he refers to slime molds as lasagna though 😭
18:50 having a problem with this, apparently the rarefaction cell just works differently or simply doesn't work at all in this challenge. No way I can jump over a DLL or this simple immobile rot because it's just a visual distortion with no effect at all
Re: challenge 57
Or you could just wait for the scav to come to you, like i did.
RNGesus saves
11:32 i didn't know i could eat a meal...but I beat it. Hooray
I've done almost 40 challenges without a guide, I hope the others left aren't so bad
Lizard at the end: mreh....mreh
Challenge 54:
1)Throw 3 eggbugs in water to immobilize them
2)Kill 4th eggbug to get a lot of fire-eggs
3)Throw those fire-eggs to immobilized bugs in the water (3-4 should be enough).
sheep dog is killing me
Nah bro is teaching his lizard to become cyan lizard and live the right way 💀
You should add a 0:00 (Intro) timestamp in the description so the video can get split into chapters :0
I’ve completed every challenge except Stygian depths and Challenge 70. My computer cannot handle Stygian depths in particular :(
Bro is the personified version of the UwU mod
6:13 i thought I had to kill a vulture and I got really close to doing it.
Why does man have an uwu voice lol
Because of lots of practice to always talk like this, to be a "femboy", and to sound "cute". Apparently it's a common trend among guys trying to present as "femboys". (In quotes because it's a specific thing, not just a boy who is fem.) It's very much a deliberate choice.
I personally don't like it and think it makes him really hard to understand (I'm so glad the Closed Captions mostly can), but I guess some people find it cute?
@@jeweleitri4111 its a lisp lol
I’ve completed every challenge…
EXCEPT FRICKKIN PERFECT PARRIES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I EVEN DID CHALLENGE 70 AND I CANT PARRY ATTACKS FROM THE PORL MONKES
you can throw all of fire bugs to water first and blow them off at challenge 54
11:45. I just killed it normally because I kept getting the batfly plant over and over again
That isn't nacho cheese, that's lava!
Did u stream these challenges when u beat them for the first time?
No, I didn't
Aw
This is just a question but do you have a lisp it sounds like use w a lot
The lore: Sliver of Straw is confirmed dead!
Challenge 70: You were saying?
I wish challenge 70 was just saint popping a cap in sliver, but the challenges are non-canon
@@sorbetcafe I mean hey, at least we get their design lol
Bro You were born with the uwu setting
Time to make the stupid choice of trying to play this game again
Honestly, don't try to complete all the challenges unless you have a ton of time or are interested in 100%ing the game. Expeditions are way more fun and a much better arcade mode imo, most of the challenges (especially the later ones) are hard for the sake of being hard. They are less fun and more of a chore to complete.
And not even always hard so much as complex or meticulous. And sometimes require you to be very precise and follow nearly exact methods of doing them, as opposed to the usual option of dealing with stuff several different ways. Totally reasonable if people get frustrated or don't want to do them.
i did limited ammunition with one spear because the other got stuck in a wall
I thought you had to stab the red sentaped to death...
it wasn't easy
what do you mean the achievment you get for getting all other achievement is "one of the rarest from this game"? if it's not THE rarest then none of them are rare lol.
You don't need to earn every other achievement, for instance I haven't gotten martyr yet, you just need to beat most of the campaigns and all the challenges. I still don't really know what expedition leader is or why 0% of people have is but it's the only one listed as rarer/fewer people having it.
