That was the interview we all didn’t know we needed.
Yeah that was a great interview. I normally would have skipped right past it, but was actually super cool to hear what he had to say
Dude for real.. the oddest closure 😂
This was the comment I needed but didn't know how to say it.
Am I the only one who noticed he dodged the question about him and Wade's relationship? They were a great duo, I miss watching their work.
@@icemanfan2957 He didn't dodge it he just wasn't going to air out all of the dirty laundry. Wayde divorced his sister so of course there are some hard feelings there as they were also friends.
Open, honest, respectful, earnest towards criticism, and without tabloid. Thanks Brett.
the transparency from brett on how tanked went from a small company to a billion dollar beast i commend him
and the "off screen issues" too
Love that George wasn't afraid to ask Brett the tough questions. Great video
I was hoping he would
I was #500
The fact that someone was sneaking falic shaped coral into the tanks is by far the best thing this show has ever done.
He knew exactly who was putting those in the tanks
@@garpfrosty6543 yup and we all know that person was fired on the spot
Brett seems like a really dope dude. Super honest and really friendly.
Brett needs to do a youtube channel and rewatch every episode and explain each episode. That's what one of the sister wives daughter do and she has tons of patreons
do you have the youtube channel ?
@@skuby. I don't
Oh yeah Christine’s daughter Gwendolyn Brown’s got TH-cam and Patreon and I think Mykelti and Tony are just Patreon?
Honestly seems like he moved on and he’s happier for it, instead of reliving the past
I'd watch that!
I had no idea how much I needed this closure lol. He hit the nail on the head with what made Tanked so successful; The show checked off every box on what makes a show enjoyable and it opened the door to a new interest for so many! Sad that it ended but everything must come to an end. Brett's attitude towards his tanks and the show are awesome and he gave so much insight that I don't think we've ever gotten before. Awesome video!!!!
I bought a 2500 Gal tank from Brett Raymer. He shipped it to Alaska and I brought it with me when I moved to Colorado. Not a single defect in the tank and it is going strong after 14 years. It is my most prized possession, even more than my house and car.
if its the one in your profile picture its an very nice tank!
Yo this show used to be my childhood inspire me to be a marine biologist
Same
I hope you work on your spelling and punctuation when you start. 😂
@@yourenotthatguy7051yeah you have no friends and there aren’t many people that like you
😂@@yourenotthatguy7051
I sense a lifelong friendship/brotherhood brewing between George and Brett after this video they did together 😂
They were so goofy haha
It brings a lot of joy knowing that he actually took good care for the animals while building these beautiful tanks that were built to last. Kudos to you guys for putting the animals and quality craftsmanship at the top of the priority list.
Love Brett. I got to meet him once when I was 13 and he still explained everything to me like he was talking to an adult explaining everything in the ATM building. Of course being young I didn’t have much of a clue but I still learned a lot and it was awesome! Best experience with a celebrity I’ve ever had to date 5 years later and probably will be. I still stop by every few years in hopes I get to meet them again but so far just the general lol
Nevermind hearing it closed down actually kinda broke me…. Hope the families doing better now though
Dude. I was just expecting to see a few of the old tanks from the Tanked show (which I saw). But I was not expecting such a great and in-depth interview with Brett. Respect to Brett and Tanked. And respect to George for including the interview we've all been waiting for.
Oh my! I never missed an episode until I never saw the show again! This was an emotional and honest experience from Brett...thank you for having filled our hearts with joy during the shows
What happened??????!
@@TheFirstAmendmentit ended in like 2018 after 15 seasons
@@rhino5250 thanks man.
@@rhino5250oh wow! That’s a good run. I’ll have to check it out
I loved that show, Brett is the king, so passionate, as soon as he started talking his eyes lit up and couldn't sit still, very respectful of his family and didn't go into issues too much and kept the conversation positive. Well done George for putting this interview out there.
The last 12 minute interview is what I’ve been wanting to hear for the longest time. Thank you for asking the difficult questions and getting more clarification on the issues surrounding ATM’s closing. Really appreciate Bret for being as open and honest as he could be given the situation. I hated to hear about all of the awful things that came about at the shows end, but I wish nothing but the best for Bret and for most of the ATM family
He sounded like his ego might have been some of it, especially when he was talking about himself as the best and no one could replace him. That's super douche
@@MagnumChrisbut that is true. He was atleast half of the face of the company, if you wanted to buy a tank from ATM you'd expect to be dealing with THE Brett Raymer. After he left, obviously because of covid too the company went... tanked!
Tanked was my favorite show and I really miss watching you guys. I’m so happy to see Bret and loved the updates. Bret , you are such an amazing and inspiring guy. It’s so sad and upsetting to hear about all the haters that gave you a hard time. Great job George, love the content.
“You’re a two inch kinda guy”
“🤨From the floor”
😂😂😂😂😂
I loved watching Tanked as a teen, its really nice to know the guys care just as much behind the scenes as it seems they do on screen.
This show had such an impact on my childhood. 💙🐠
This and River Monsters was my childhood 😭
Tanked was my childhood
I LOVED Tanked growing up. Brett and Wayde were my favorite. Always busting each other’s chops.
I got to talk with Brett for about 30 minutes at a local home show in El Paso. He was just as open and full of knowledge. He seemed to be interested in my tank and gave me some tips on equipment that have helped me keep everything going for the last 6 years.
Brett is the most fun guy you'll ever meet im 100% sure.
Its impossible not to like him
I visited the tank that the show built for the Applebee's on Coney Island a few years ago, and it was a disatser. They didn't keep up with the maintenance at all, so it was a real disappointment, and a shame seeing it so neglected . The fish all looked sick, some had injuries, and the algea was super thick and had taken over the entire tank. I always wondered how the rest of the tanks that "Tanked" built were kept up with... now I know. I appreciate this video, and am glad to see they all didn't meet such a horrible fate.
Thank you George and Brett !! This isn’t the video we wanted, this is the video we NEEDED 🤣
Makes my day every time you post !! Thx George !! Wishing you all the success !!
Miss the show and definitely appreciate Brett taking the time to talk to you.
I met Brett at the RAP and MAX shows (Aquariums Shows) many times in Ca. he is really friendly, he likes the meet and greets, gives real time to the kids. He is what he appears to be, genuine.
THANK YOU BRETT, FOR ANSWERING EVERY SINGLE QUESTION IVE EVERY WONDERED ! i loved your show so much , i loved your family and the comedy so much . your show was definitely one of the best out there. as a tank lover myself i could never do what you did . your defiantly a icon to me and my family . i wish the show never ended but i love to go and rewatch ! love you lots and am very happy we got the answers we wondered
Brett Raymer thank you for your passion! We loved "Tanked".
the reef inserts definitely make sense, they may not 100% accurately depict how corals may be placed or coloration, but not everyone is a biology and ecology nerd and just want to look at something nice
I clicked on this video so fast when I saw “Tanked”. You asked every question I would’ve had about the show and the creator seems super passionate. I also love how he mentioned the next generation of hobbyists. Most entertaining aquarium channel out there 🥳
This video was amazing!
Tanked is one of the reasons why I got interested in the aquarium hobby as a kid. Nice to know more about the story of what went on behind the scenes and after the show ended.
In my opinion Brett always came across as an ambassador of the aquarium hobby and never brought shade into the industry.. nice video George..
I really loved, and enjoyed the interview at the end their. He explained a lot and you had great questions. Amazing content 👌 👏
I seriously am glad I found this video. I really needed it for multitude of reasons I didn't think this would give.
1) I loved tanked, but didn't care so much for the 'family drama/joke' parts. BUT, Brett here tells how most to all of it was true and true. And him explaining that real accidents happened, makes it seem more 'real' to me now, and how he explained more about the places and tanks and was straight forward about it. -I now want to watch the whole series.
2) Brett's honesty in the questions- especially why he quit- this *seriously* helped me not feel so bad about quitting my own job recently. It may not be for exact same reasons, but I was struggling mentally with it. He stated truly how 'happiness' is more important than money. It is a true fact, but hearing a popular celebrity (i think he is enough) say that, really makes it feel more true and serious and makes you not feel so bad for doing what *you* need to do.
My gosh this video unlocked so many memories for me. I absolutely loved watching all kinds of animal shows and my family would watch with me. This was one of the shows we all loved watching together, especially my dad and I. The tanks looked so amazing and I loved watching the process.
Great video!!
This is so true what he is saying! For every one hateful remark, 500 of them are wonderful. Hate comes in small doses but can leave a lot of pain on someone. Focus on the good ones and you’ll be set. ❤
He’s always been so good at carrying his points across, loved seeing Brett again on fish related videos
This dudes Awesome, Brett’s directly responsible for me being in the hobby. I wish he made money from the re runs. He needs to start a TH-cam channel
Tanked is the reason why I jumped into the hobby. I just left freshwater and going into saltwater with a 65 gallon. You got a new subscriber keep up the good work 😊
Dude... tanked was brilliant. Brett should get a TH-cam channel. Fantastic interview
Was thinking the other day about how much this show changed my view on the animal industry and gave me such hope as a kid. wanted to rewatch some episodes, but I needed this more.
Loved this show as a kid
This was a fantastic interview! Great questions and answers from both parties. Brett clearly took his business and show seriously and knows his stuff. TV can only show so much and is strategically edited for our entertainment. I’m glad Brett shed a lot more light on questions I used to have watching the show.
Bret is genuine. Social media is ruining society. God bless you tube. It's real.
This was definitely an interview. I had no idea we need it, but we definitely needed it. He shared so much light on reality TV versus real life.
Thanks for getting this interview, and this lovely walk through memory lane! Tanked was a favorite on animal planet. Was so sad when it it got canceled. Thanks for an awesome show Brett! 🎉
Finally, all the answers of what really happened to Tanked and ATM. A shame the show and business came to an end. It was what started me enjoying the fish hobby. Thanks, George, for a great interview, and thank you Brett for being sincere and honest on the topic. Waiting to see what's next for Brett. Keep up the great work George!
Thanks Brett for such a honest interview. Tanked got me into the hobby so "Tank you".
Man I would love him on the show more often! He's amazing!
Such an awesome blast from the past 🥺. Me and my mother who has passed on used to binge watch this show so much
never realized how much Tanked I've actually watched until I remembered all the tanks in this video.
This was awesome. Thank you George, thank you Brett.
Honestly, TANKED is one of the reason why i fall inlove in aquarium hobby ❤️thank youu so much!!!
As a kid I spend my days watching Animal Planet, and especially loved Tanked. My brother and I would watch it for hours. Getting back into the hobby as a 23 yr old, I’m quickly seeing it is my favorite thing. Feels like renewing an old dream.
The whole crew at ATM is super cool and always took the time to talk to fans. It sucks what happened. When I was young I always wanted a tank from them
like those squishy animal toys at walmart
Dudeee I’ve been watching old tanked episodes all month , THIS is sick I’m so excited to watch this video 💖
He said "HAPPINESS IS WAY MORE OF A VALUE THAN MONEY" and I can totally relate ✨️💯🌿🐠
Really enjoyed the interview George, ifs sad to hear of the demise of ATM and the families. Brett seems like such a honest down to earth good guy and I hope he is doing well.
I had completely forgotten about this show, loved it.
I met Brett a few years ago at the Dallas Aquashella event. The coolest guy ever.
Man I never knew how much I needed this interview. I grew up watching animal planet, and tanked was one of my all time favorite shows on the channel. I loved marine life as a kid (and still do now), and seeing all the different types of fish they'd handle and all of the super cool tanks they'd build was so cool to me as a kid
Thanks George for the interview. Bret I wish the best. It’s time for you to make your return with your own production company at your own pace. You along with George have done so much for our community promoting a pure hobby. This community of ours is so needed with all the negativity in life.
I used to watch this show I loved it! I miss it ❤
Tanked really brought me and my dad together and helped me become a hobbyist. I actually bought one of the seasons to re watch but now hearing he gets no money from it that’s a bummer. But Bret even if you aren’t getting paid monetarily from that… you changed many lives!!!
I remember watching this show with my dad as a kid, bring back some good memory’s
Thank you! I miss them all. It was such a great show. My son loved watching it with me. I pray everyone is okay. We miss you Brett ❤
Just the fact that there are fish that are still alive in these tanks 8-10 years later says a lot about not only the builds of the tanks, but also the education they given to the people they install for.
Thanks! It's something we're very proud of.
My dad and I used to love watching Tanked together
14:26 I LOVE Betos Tacos!
Wish Brett made something off the reruns. I admittedly only really got into Tanked 4 years ago, but since then it's become a staple in my Saturday morning routine. Every Saturday I watch an episode religiously, if I don't it's as if my weekend hasn't begun. It's the only reason I have a Discovery+ subscription. Been a pleasure watching new content with Brett around aquariums, so a big thank you for that.
Im just glad that hes an actual hobbyist and did the real work with those tanks instead of what everyone was saying. I didnt even wanna watch those shows anymore thinking they were wasting thousands of fish, just knowing they took care of them makes me wanna watch the show again
It was a real privilege and honour to hang out with Brett Raymer. I used to watch Tanked over and over because of the fresh dynamic it brought to reality television. He was 100% correct when he stated they had all the values to make it great.
I will admit though that the interview at the end drove me absolutely crazy because of all the editing and the amount of poor construction to go with it. We are seeing this over and over across the board on Interviews/podcasts.
My advice:
If you are going to do an interview then make it raw, make it unscripted, make it genuine no matter whether there are mistakes or not. Make it real because that's what everyone wants to see and hear. We're all human so just let it flow.
Anyways...
Good to see you both come together and this was a very special treat for us all regardless so let's hope we can see this again real soon.
Stay Safe!... Stay Well!... Stay Positive!
Great questions and great answers. Loved it. Much respect to Brett and his vision for the show. My first two saltwater tanks are 300 gallon and a 265 gallon tanks, and I was certainly inspired by Tanked to jump head first into the hobby.
Finally closure from my favourite show. I love you Brett and the ATM family. And I love you George for doing this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love the behind the scenes interview. Thanked was my childhood show on animal planet I was always amaze at what they brought out.
awesome episode brother. so happy to see Brett Raymer lookin healthy and happy.
Why is this wholesome as fuck
Brett raymer came across as a decent, honest and humble man. This is very refreshing in todays society.
(If anyone is wondering why he is walking bow legged, it's because he has no cartilage in his knees. He has to go through painful injections every few months. There is a video of him being treated).
Thank you so much for having this interview! So many questions answered! Stay humble and kind!!
This show was a staple of my childhood and this video made me so happy to see on my recommended
12:10 coworker was a legend in my eyes
No way! Did not expect this to be so awesome raw and real
Brett is a GOAT... mad respect for him
Tanked is the reason I loved keeping fish, learning their ways and wanting to give them the biggest and best tank…I keep mystery snails and shrimp fucking love “Tanked” been watching since I was 11
Tanked was one of my favorite shows for a while, this was so cool
The energy between yall is crazy should do a show gotta love brett
WOW! How profound and truthful Brett was
❤❤❤I'm one of the people that got interested in the hobby after watching the show. Due to the hobby being expensive, I only own two fish tanks but my kids love them 🎉
I grew up on tanked and used to watch so much of it. I have absolutely no clue why but it held my attention I think abt the tanks a lot specifically the drum set. It’s nice to see this on my feed
I loved this, tanked was my fav animal planet show growing up. being able to here brett talk about tanked is so amazing seeing how much controversy was around the show. Thank you George :)
Tanked is the reason why i got into the hobby, a hobby i don't regret and still love doing, its even helped me with my mental health 🥰
Thanks, George for the interview! Miss you, Brett! It was a great show, for sure!!
One of the best tv shows hands down. Miss you guys.
i dont know why this made me cry, i really loved that show
As amazing as the tanks are, the interview at the end was the star of this video.🙏🏿
My dad has been into aquariums and fish for decades now, and I remember watching the show with him. It was one of the few things we both really enjoyed watching and it was nice to have something to share with him. I never really got into aquariums myself, mainly because I was too young back then to have my own, but recently I've landed on the aquarium side of youtube and last week I finally set up my very own first fishtank. It's been really nice to have something to talk about with my dad again, and it's so cool to see the youtube and television world connect in a video like this.
