Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on Penny's Big Breakaway. I'm sure it's something I'll enjoy, but you making the distinction with how it's intended to play vs. what you need to do to get all the collectibles is a bummer for me personally (mood might change once I play it though!). I'm still just so high on Tinykin that I just want more of that type of 3D platformer I think 😅 Bless you for getting the Sekiro Platinum (SPOILERS!), though, I truly wish I could get through it! I've given it 3 honest attempts and I just can't wrap my head around it. Excellent video and monthly trophy update!
I know you tried Penny and bounced off it, but I'd be curious to hear updated thoughts if you go back! And thanks for the kind words! Sekiro platinum was brutal but honestly felt so good to knock it out. It's always so nice when the act of going for the trophies actually improves your overall opinion of a game!

What a fun roundup of games! I got the Bastion Platinum earlier this year, which actually was the second time i have completed the game, having gotten full Gamerscore when I played it on Xbox 360. Still holds up super well all these years later. Working on Sekiro too?? I need to get cracking on those FromSoft games and git gud...
I've been playing Destiny 2: The Final Shape, and they've won me back again. The story and new features of this expansion are excellent. Haven't beaten the main story yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how this story concludes!
I've heard a lot of great things about The Final Shape! Seems like a great sendoff for fans that have stuck with the series for so long
For may it was a pretty slow month for trophy hunting also Blink. Love these videos as always. For me, Knocked out Medievil Remake plat after 3 years, Tunic platinum right after that, then went slow for a bit before getting that sweet 13th spot on the ps4 Skull Island: Rise Of Kong platinum leaderboard. Rest of the month was just slow due to adulting and having a few nice days to actually work outside.
Yeah but we must give praise for that Kong plat! That's not joke lol 🙏

I have been working on some trophies on my end got the Plat for Job Simulator which was quite easy and fast.
I agree animal well is so great I had so much fun talking to you about it such a masterpieces and easily one of the best games of the year so far.
I am glad your opinion on Sekiro is slowly changing soon you will see that it's the best Souls game!

I got the platinum for FFVII Rebirth in May. It took me around 330 hours! It didn't earn it until the 20th, so didn't get much else done, but I did spend the last few days playing some a couple of short, easy games to cool down. I played Cluedo, which doesn't have a platinum, and Endling: Extinction is Forever.
Wow 330 hours is wild! Congrats on that monster plat, a huge accomplishment for sure! Sometimes you definitely need some small little snack sized games after a monster plat like that
@@Blinkoom I took way longer than most people, but I am pretty slow when it comes to completing games in general. The last two legendary VR missions alone took me around 30 hours. Apart from that and a few hair-tearing challenges, I really loved the game, so I didn't mind spending a long time with it. Definitely glad to just be playing a few low intensity games for a while though.

I've basically worked on two games in may. Horizon forbidden west on ultra hard and tlou 2 grounded perma.
100%'s I got were in tlou 2 and ff7 (1997) and the rest was just mostly grinding out the other two games. I'm at 102 hours for horizon now and nearly done with the main game (doing 100% ingame for the game and DLC). Forbidden West might get into my top 3 of all time. I genuinely think its insanely good. Not entirely sure if it can replace the last of us 2 of spot #3 but it very well might.
My next plats and 100%s after forbidden west will be doing the legends mode for Ghost of Tsushima, platting an untitled goose game and another short indie. After those 3 I will finally move onto Dark souls 3 and I honestly cant wait, albeit it will probably be july by then.
That's some solid work you're putting in! I know it has a grind but Dark Souls 3 is one I want to go back to and clean up, probably next year.

@Blinkoom I definitely didn't expect to love Horizon as much as I do. My top 3 was pretty firm, and it has somehow managed to come even close to the 3rd spot.
The way the game handles side quests is just very unique and isn't ever done by any other game. And the combat is the best I've ever played.
Been meaning to comment for the past few videos but keep forgetting 😂 Love this series it’s the type of content that took off big time in Covid but many creators moved away from it. Please keep this up I love hearing everyone’s trophy grind. Personally I’m on Xbox so it’s achievements for me but I love hearing this nonetheless ✊ Great content mate 😁

I had started elder scrolls blades for the Bethesda square... But after 13 levels the game becomes impossibly hard. Surely one of those mobile pay walls.
Will have to find another game for it. Trying to not cheap it out. But that Bethesda published commander keen game on steam is really tempting. Might use it as a last resort at the end of the year.
I know exactly what you mean with not wanting to cheese it, but I might have to go for one of their odd retro publish jobs just like that.

Yeah...understandable. I actually managed to get the platinum myself and it definitely was a headache. Those last couple VR challenges were just not fun, long marathon battles against enemies that are way overtuned. The only reason I didn't quit myself was due to how many step-by-step guides there were for builds and tactics.
If anything, I'm kind of disappointed that it managed to burn me out enough that I forgone getting a true 100% like I did with "Remake" and "Remake Intergrade". I still needed to perfect the final piano song, there was one enemy intel in the VR challenges I missed scanning, and I didn't bother finishing every side-quest again on Hard Mode. I was so done and wanted to move on.
"Sekiro"
I'm very likely not the only one who feels this but the whole "git gud" discourse has really gotten out of hand. I don't want to blame FromSoftware too much for this, it's largely initially due to how Bandai Namco advertised "Dark Souls" with the whole "Prepare to Die" tagline, but it really feels like people don't understand what it means for a game to be difficult anymore. Much less the idea that a game sometimes can intend for you to play in a specific way, otherwise they punish you severely. And that specific way won't always be fun for everyone, I for instance don't really like parrying.
Oh well, I've ranted about this too many times. I have many issues on how much FromSoftware has influenced the modern gaming sphere overall. Though especially, I really miss old FromSoftware when they used to make games like "3D Game Dot Heroes", "Lost Kingdom 1&2", "Echo Night", "Enchanted Arms", and so on.

And I guess a quick rundown of my May experience. For the most part, I focused on more obscure games. Some were pleasant surprises, some were slight disappointments. But might as well highlight them in chance anyone else might want to give them a shot.
"Shadows of the Damned" (PS3) - An older Suda51 shooter that's has an unique grindhouse style.
"Astronite" (PS5) - A basic classic Metroidvania in a retro style. Pretty fun.
"Oni: Road to be the Mightiest Oni" (PS5) - This is a weird one that I don't know how to describe. Quite low budget.
"8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure" (PS5) - Another Metroidvania but based on Korean folktales, very interesting.
"Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution" (PS5) - A very silly game in a very silly series. Won't appeal to everyone but I like it.
I guess to add, while it's not May anymore, I'm currently nearly finished with "Stellar Blade" (PS5). It's an alright enough game that unfortunately got stuck in a nothing controversy. Though that said, I didn't have the best time with it since it's a parry focused "Souls"-like.
I played Hi fi rush on the PS5 and it was so much fun. Will never get the platinum trophy for it since it requires mad rhythm skils which I severly lack. Same with Bioshock which I'm playing now. Fun game but some trophies are too difficult for me. I decided to stop playing pokemon colosseum because it is too boring. I'm playing Red Steel 2 on the wii now and it is still a bad ass game.
I've been meaning to try the Red Steel games for years, thanks for the reminder!
I got about half way through Hi-Fi Rush on Series X and then got distracted, so some day I'll definitely replay it on PS5
I would skip Red Steel 1. It is very bland and the controls are awful. Red steel 2 is much better due to the wii motion plus it needs to work.
