@@supersecularboypants 1) it makes sense to have those ginormous grilles on an M car (more air, so MO POWA BABY!)
2) they're blacked out on the M cars, so you can't see them, so they look good because you can't see them.

Just purchased myself a bmw 4 series convertible about a month ago. I loved watching this video with the tension “will I regret my choice at the end of the video,” but your choice made me more delightful about my car and the choice I made. I named it Light Furry btw and I love it to the most. Design-wise, driving-wise, just every aspect is perfect surprisingly for a car girl. Thank you for the amazing review😃😃

A5 for me, went for edition 1 in Daytona Grey with black optics. Looked at the other 2 but tbh really dont like the merc look and funnily its the back end which iv never liked at all, BMW was a no go as wasnt convinced with grill but other than that its really nice
Yea for me Audi too. I just like the look of it much more than the other two cars both interior and exterior. I've been in a BMW 4 series many times and the look inside just never gets me especially the previous model of the BMW 4. I do like the Mercedes interior, but the infortainment system is just so old school. I dont really care for a "sporty" feel, as long as it looks sporty and comfy for me, its all good :D
A5 coupe (B9.5) in Daytona grey and black optics is a deadly combination. It’s honestly soo aggressive and gorgeous, it turns soo many heads when you drive it.

Hey Matt nobody needs touchscreens in a moving vehicle. I get it, when the car is parked, it can be neat, but forget changing the station, increasing the volume and so on while driving. Furthermore, in cars they are not as good as iPads and have fun cleaning smudges off the screen all the time. Maybe you could explain why you like touchscreens in cars...and I hope it‘s not because „it looks good“^^

Outside yes, but inside is pretty sad imo...
Funnily enough, as nice as it is the front profile is far too similar to the smaller Audi’s, and it wouldn’t look imposing in a rear view mirror at all. It’s ok for a model to have a family resemblance but this is too much so and the A5 needs much more front presence than that. Look at 10:18 - is that really an A5 or a boring A1 or 3?
I drive a gen 1 A5 so I'm biased but the other two are a bit too "bling" The merc interior is a bit nice however but that bmw front end is just horrendous, it just looks like an afterthought to fit in with current american fashion.
A5 coup is just ok, idk I like the sportback much more. But the 2018 is the nicer one of the b9 look. It’s also pretty quick

The 430i with the m sport package is probably the only version of that engine option people will want to order. The looks are indeed striking and really gets a lot of attention from even non car people. One question I have is why they increased the size of the newer Bmw sedans by so much cause that thing didn’t handle any better than the new X3.

That beamer is growing on me, Matt said it will with the fact it isnt beautiful but when theres a long shot of all 3 cars my eyes are drawn to the 4 series. Also if its the best to drive with the best interior then awesome, also inside is the one place where you wont have to stare at the grille.

What I know is that I don't need to look at that grill from inside the car, and it's definitely head turning.
Edit, towards the end of the video, when he said "if you actively get pleasure from driving cars" was perfect. Idgaf about hp, 0-60 time, exhaust noise. I just love to drive, not necessarily like a goon 24/7. Most of the time will be daily driving. I want to be enjoying that, not just when my foots down to the floor.
A5 is better as a sportback, C Coupe has perfect proportions it’s a German Muscle car, BMW is Raticate from Pokemon.

I have to admit the new 4 series is growing on me... I hated it when it came out, but then I saw one with really nice spec... it was dark blue with blacked out grill and it looked great. Definitely looks better in person. Still hate the look when the kidneys are chrome tho

I love love love the grill of the BMW. It actually made me buy it, because it is incredibly bold and different. I do think the color and the way you build up the car (M-sport, black trims, etc) is quite important to make it work. But that was the same for the previous 4-series I owned. That coupé was also at is best with M-sport pack, amazing wheels, etc. You can make or break these cars with color and build up.
The 4 series in real life looks fantastic. A great choice.

The new 4 series is definitely sweet when you see it in person, but I still think the audi beat it in the looks department.
That being said, don't you think the earlier 4 series looked better ? I dare say the last a3 coupe even beats the lot in every area.
@@AbdelhamidZekri91 It is a matter of taste, but after having had both the old 4-series and the new one, the new one definitely beats the old one in both looks and functionality. I loved the old one, but the new one is truly magnificent (especially the way I had it build up). Everywhere I go with the new 4-series I receive compliments and people want to take pictures of it. Something I didn't experience with the old 4-series, even though I was totally head over heels for it. I like Audi as well and especially their electric cars are magnificent, but BMW is my brand.
It's the only reason I bought the A5. I checked the entire country for a new or pre reg previous gen 4 series but as soon as BMW announced this gen, all those were sold out.

I've just swapped my E-Class 220d Merc. Cabrio for a BMW 420 D (mild Hybrid) convertible and and it leaves the Mercedes in the dust! The grille is a talking point, clever marketing, but I think it's different from the crowd and that's great.
LOVE that grill.. retro back to the origins of BMW with the larger kidney grill... makes it look aggressive and badass....
Why does the 4 series remind me of the new Supra
They use the same engine, B58, and to clarify, the B58 has been out way before the Supra.
Both of their front ends are awful

What else could remind him of the 4 series then.. nothing else related. The engine note and the actual engine is related what else could possibly remind him of the 4 thinking about the Supra? They also share the same 4 cylinder too. And if your a crazy car guy and deep into cars you’ll be reminded of mechanical components of a car not just the exterior when comparing 2 vehicles. 440i isn’t the only B58 either, there’s the 340i F30, M340i G20, 540i, 740Li, 840i, Z4 M40i, X3 M40i, X5 40i, X6 40i, X7 40i. Most BMWs use this engine, 440i isn’t the only B58.
Proportions of the two cars are completely different.
