Some more info I forgot to mention: The Rockwell hardness listed on North Arms website for maganacut is 60-62HRC. That’s definitely a bit lower than standard (63-64 being ideal). That being said, I was impressed with this steel in a kitchen environment. If this was an EDC knife I might have some more complaints on the hardness. Also, the price of this knife is $110-150 depending on the handle material you choose (g10 vs carbon fiber).
I have the Mallard ... same exact knife with a lanyard hole and a kydex sheath. It has been my EDC and it's awesome. So thin and slicy. The sheath is functional but not perfect.
It would definitely make a nice little bird and trout style fixed blade or even just a super slicey edc knife. I forgot they made that version with the lanyard/sheath.
Have you tried a Montana Knife Company Speedgoat 2.0 in magnacut? Its a good looking knife and I think would be a little more outdoor oriented version of the Trillium/Mallard.
@@readyme I’ve seen them around but I’m not really fond of paying over $200 for a non-gutted/epoxied paracord wrap. If they made them with scales I’d consider it

@@justified_edc solid reasoning. It is definitely a basic design with a premium price tag.
Seems like the perfect fillet knife?
@@ed2335 they sell a version of this knife that comes with a kydex sheath as a bird and trout knife 👍🏼
@@justified_edc question. Have you had to resharpen it?. Was it difficult to resharpen?. (Magnacut)
