Thank you for doing this review of Targi! This is the first time I've seen a video from your channel and will certainly Subscribe based on the excellent quality and effort you've put into your video. I also agree with the majority of the points and call-outs made during your review. I love it when anyone posts a video or review of this game because it deserves all of the exposure it can get! It should be noted that I am biased as this is my FAVORITE 2 player game and I have spent a considerable amount of time studying the Tuareg people, culture and history.
With that said - I would like to politely offer a few alternative takes on a few points you made:
    1) While I understand you stating that the components are "nothing special" - presumably you mean from a manufacturing standpoint - I'd like to offer an alternate viewpoint on those tokens. While only cardboard in terms of production, they might not be something that one would consider outstanding - however, they are perfectly suited to the game based on the Tuareg tribe and their culture - and in that sense, the attention to detail from an immersion standpoint is spot on. From the goods like salt, pepper and dates to the extremely applicable Tuareg Cross used for victory points, as that is a HUGE cultural reference for the Tuareg people. As such, I find the components extremely meaningful.
    2) While you're right on the mark with the comment regarding the figures in Targi being only male, it should be noted that the expansion changes that. The expansion adds a female/Targia figure to the game, along with a myriad of other game play components and additions that exponentially multiply replayability and enjoyment. I also think it's important to note that the roles of gender in the game are based on the Tuareg culture and history in the sense that they match the intended roles of characters in the game; however, I have seen some utilize custom miniatures of multiple genders for the base game and doing so is a great way to add whatever level of diversity you'd like to a fantastic game.
    3) I would argue that the replayability of this game is EXTREMELY high. Each game is different terms of the "board" as a number of cards in the middle of the board are changing each round. Not only that, but the strategy you deploy changes based on the cards available and the setup you've established in your tableau in addition to any strategy you deploy in an attempt to block your apponent. I've won the game and have lost to others as well who have deployed various strategies - each with their own merit based on the opportunities each unique game provides. Additionally, the expansion adds a vast amount of additional elements that exponentially increase replayability with the inclusion of water as a good, the sand dune cards and additional Tribe and Goods cards in addition to the alteration to the boarder cards, inclusion of the Targia and her movements on the board and a number of other subtle and well executed changes. All of those factors combined make for an infinitely replayable game.
Thanks again for this review and the insights you provided - I always enjoy hearing how others feel about one of my favorites. I've even blinged out a few of my copies with custom characters, goods and play mats. I would play this game every day if I could!

Thanks for all your thoughts, Flipside! I haven't had a chance to play with the expansion, so I'll take your word for the additions it brings. I'd love to have a look at it someday soon. Glad to have you around!

Hi there, you mentioned a favourite 2 player game that sounds like "Hype-poor" but I can't get the actual spelling correct when searching for it. What is it's name and is it still a favourite? Thanks!

Jaipur! It is still a favorite. It's dead simple set collection, and there's a phone app that works remarkably well for pass-and-play.

The J in Jaipur isn't pronounced like an h. It's not Spanish
