This was his satellite concert 1973 LIVE from Aloha Hawaii seen by 1.5 billion people all around the world for one single artist: ELVIS. Never done again
Hello from NYC-- so you're on an Elvis journey; well, enjoy - you have about 800 songs to go; i've been listening to Elvis since 1956 when i was 13; the '50's was a staid time in our culture & most grownups had a lot of hangups; singers such as Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin performed in a very sedate, quiet fashion, standing still mostly, w-an occasional stroll gently up & down the stage; remember, we were listening to our parents music at that time; we listened to R&R & doo-wop groups but everyone pretty much stood still; then came Elvis; i never saw anything sexual in his movements; to me he was moving to the feel of the music; i was concentrating on his gorgeous-ness, his wonderful voice & the emotion he put into his singing; and then came the '60's -- Woodstock, flower children, mini skirts & life changed forever; Elvis fit into this perfectly; there is an awful lot to this Man's performances; i don't know what you've heard or have not heard but here are some suggestions, most of them have good quality sound & picture, only PULEEZ!! try not to stop for lengthy discussions & make sure you don't close the videos until the screen goes black because you could miss something that makes his performances so marvelous - he should be watched smoothly to the end: Love Me Tender(w-a walk amongst the crowd) th-cam.com/video/BeTurYZuY4A/w-d-xo.html; The Wonder of You & You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me (2 songs on 1 video) th-cam.com/video/Y59yBBbJC6E/w-d-xo.html; Sweet Caroline (listen to what he does @ very end) th-cam.com/video/4svYQC2cLyI/w-d-xo.html; American Trilogy (pay close attention to him when you hear the trumpets th-cam.com/video/yTwJvVTQ6-0/w-d-xo.html; You Gave Me A Mountain th-cam.com/video/yoH367Dg4YY/w-d-xo.html; I Can’t Stop Loving You th-cam.com/video/Zan3MPF7gLM/w-d-xo.html; Just Pretend (taking sketch from girl in audience) th-cam.com/video/CuuaXIA4A-A/w-d-xo.html; You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling th-cam.com/video/QTLjMiEJwq4/w-d-xo.html; Polk Salad Annie th-cam.com/video/u4csFnpZXek/w-d-xo.html (it's actually Poke Sallet which is a highly toxic weed only to possibly be eaten in springtime); & from one of his last concerts in 1977, 6 wks before he passed away, Unchained Melody th-cam.com/video/AG9ph9xkOrw/w-d-xo.html; there are 2 worlds worth of songs, so enjoy
I was friends of Charlie Hodge his confidant and best friend for years after Elvis died. You need the rest of the Aloha concert. 1973 I was there 3rd row center Patch It Up, You Gave Me A Mountain Aloha concert, Make The World Go Away Vagus 1970 are just a few of the songs he sang. HE IS THE BEST ENTERTAINER
I was 12 when Elvis appeared on television for the first time ... my parents would not let me watch him ... too provocative ! A few years later , when I saw him on stage , I fell in love ! Sixty-five years later , I love him even more ... the iconic entertainer ... and the generous humanitarian that so many know so little about !
Hi there, Elvis was a fabulous entertainer, and his voice was so distinctive. His live performances were iconic, it’s no wonder that he was called the King, (of rock’n’roll). Another brilliant Elvis upload and reaction 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I read that Elvis added the lyrics, ‘hunk a hunk o burning love’ to this song as he thought the original lyrics were silly. That part of this song is iconic as it’s what people sing and the only part most of us (who were born in the 70s) remember
@Peter Richards It's always great to look back and get the nostalgia trip, plus for BP1 a lot of this is all First time for him. That was pretty cool though.
Anyone seeing this performance or any other of his performances can plainly see that he had "it." Whatever "it" exactly means, everyone knows what it means. What a legend. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It went to number 1 on cashbox meaning it sold more than any other that week. Billboard was a combo of sales and radioplay, and My dingaling was so unusal that it got more radioplay.
This time Elvis doesn't play the quitar. He just use it for a part of this song as a part of his performance. Just watch him to the end when he will use his quitar.
I saw him in 72 and he blew us away when he sang this song! My sisters and I were in the 2nd row! You should listen to his blusey songs! Down in the Alley, Tell Me Why, and It Feels So Right are just a few of his great blusey songs!
Ah Elvis. Good looking fella in his younger days, a definite 'hunka burning love'. Have to say though, if my hubby said that to me, I'd probably die laughing... Nice one, chaps! An 8ish from me!
@EnderOllie 4 He was a bit of a dish, gurt lush as they would say round here. Hope your hubby doesn't read your comment, he will be crushed... Have a great one.
@@BritPopsReact lol, 1, hubby would never say that to me because 2, he wouldn't be able to keep a straight face. Well matched, hubby and I. Both nuts . 🤪
I'm gonna request Polk Salad Annie 1970 live in Vegas if you wanna see him rock out! Rehearsal for "Words" with Sweet Inspirations and Just Pretend 1970 live in Vegas. Love your Elvis reactions! Thank you. ⚡👑🎶😎
Guys Quiet Riots version was 1983 the original by a UK band Slade was 73 after Burning Love in 1972 if the G O A T was doing a 'cover" he would just sing the song and as usual it would've become his song bcs his version always better than an orignal
Elvis is Elvis! He's the only one!Thank you, friends, for the excellent reaction!👏👏👏🇷🇺 (I'm following everything, there's just no time to leave comments, but it's not long🤝🤝)
While listening to this one day on cd, there must have been a scratch and it got stuck at ' just a hunka hunka ', by the time I got to the boombox, it had played Just a hunka hunka about 68 times !!
Even back then no one else could pull off the outfits that Elvis did. I know the song Cum On Feel the Noise but the version I know was done by Quiet Riot. I don't think I've heard Slade do it.🤔 Chuck Berry's My Ding a ling!!😅😂 A perfect example of a double entendre. When my mom played it for me for the first time I laughed quite hard.🤣😅 I'm surprised this isn't in your wardrobe BP2!😂
Elvis didn't like that song particularly mainly because he never knew how to end the song...the guitar was generally used as a prop even though he could play
I heard that Elvis was a little insecure at this show, due to the stage markings he had to follow due to the cameras. And Elvis liked to move freely around the stage at live shows. Standing still wasn't his style! ♥️
@Elis Nope standing was not his style at all, what a great fun fact. Thank you for sharing and you are only missing the "V" in your name, coincidence? Thanks for watching
Hunka Burning Love wow nice tune from Elvis. It's nearly as good as his later hit 'Watching the Detectives'. He was a great entertainer though what did he do with that guitar at the end there? Cheers!
@Lord Lockdowns Jukebox Thank you very much... The guitar, has a very small contribution to that song, I don't think it would deserve any writing credits though. All the best
@Donna Selfon Hi Donna, thank you for the suggestion, that is one that I have not heard of and I do know quite a few Elvis songs. So we will add that to the list. Cheers

Interesting observation. Cum On Feel the Noize released 1973. Burning Love released 1972. I wonder if this inspired the Slade song? Mmmm.
