First introduction to him for me was in Broadcasting School, at the Defense Information School, where they played his cut about the Hippie Dippie weatherman, as an idea of how we were not supposed to act on air. That was in 1968, during the Vietnam war. I have been a fan ever since.
Check out some of his material from back in the '60s -- Wonderful WINO radio with Al Sleet, the hippy dippy weatherman. "Tonight's forecast: Dark, continuing dark until dawn!"
George Carlin was a true student of human nature, which never really goes out of style. He also did some acting; my favorite role of his was Rufus, the time-travelling mentor of two inept California dudes in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, which is objectively the greatest movie ever made. On your own time, you two should listen to The Seven Words You Can't Say On Television. It was a comedic landmark.
One of Carlin’s funniest skit is doing the weather as if a tv weatherman. Hear we go again, since I think that was performed in the 70’s. What a decade!
Hi guys,I love it when you react to comedy, my favorite genre of all time, and George is one of the very best. He is so funny and as you both said, as relevant today as he was back in 1996. Thank you, another brilliant upload 😂😂😂
Hi elaine, Thanks you for the comment at least we know where we are with the comics and not offending anyone with what we are reacting to. We will be back with more from George soon. We are going to make Saturday afternoons our regular Comedy release time. Also, just to let you know, we will release anything that is US related at 3PM UK time as we appear to get better views from the USA when we release a video at that time. Anything Europe or Asian will still go out at mid-night, just so you don't get confused at our release times. Hope that helps and thanks for always watching our videos.
this is best commedy had and has to offer for dacades,,,,,,,,he was (R,I,P ) years ahead alost on any issues we face even today,,,,,,G. Carlin is an experience of a life time,,,,intelectually speaking
Brilliant, I'll be looking up as many of his shows that I can find. These comedians have all but disappeared. Had he still been alive, would have stood no chance af performing at the City Hall in Sheffield. Great find, cheers.
When you say it is from 1996, and it wasn't on the radar then... it was, that is why he talks about it. He knew what was coming, the politically correct way of life that would destroy comedy, and then freedom.
@johnmonk66 I totally agree with you and I believe my colleague BP 1 thought it was from a recent show, so he was shocked to learn it was from so long ago. Way ahead of his time on those topics.
Thank you guys for reaction to one of my favourite and great American comedians ! He is considered an American icon ! He's a comic that makes you think and laugh at the same time ! His comedy is very relatable, informative and straight to the point ! I would suggest you react to his skits "Saving the Planet " and Religion is Bullshit " ! as just a few hilarious ones ! You guys are one of my favourite reactors and I appreciate you immensely ! Keep posting and enjoy the weekend ! 🤗👍🤗🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️
Saw him live for my birthday present when I was in high school. My mom took me because she had no idea what to expect. She was sat in stunned silence for most of the show, but I laughed myself silly.
A grand American gem! Nice choice guys, I'm always proud to be an American but George kicks it up a notch! I hope you do more of him. Also check out Wanda Sykes and Bill Burr sometime, please.
Whenever I see people dressed up as cowboys or cowgirls, I always think of what George Carlin would say "Hey Tex, go home and get yourself a wardrobe consistent with the century your living in. I work at airport. One time I saw a guy who was dressed up in full cowboy gear. He had everything a cowboy would have minus a pistol, a horse and a lasso
"St. George" is a cultural **icon** here in the U.S.-- we need more people to follow his example of 'stop the BS, just do what's right'..... He used his comedy to point out the gaps in the thinking of the masses and tried to correct their erroneous thought processes..... Alas, he left us too soon-- (BP2; when will **you** say goodbye?? I've watched three of these, and BP1 gets **two** goodbyes!!) -- Blessed Be, & Peace-- 🙏☮
It seems natural when he says it, but that's a result of many hours rehearsals in front of mirrors. He delivered his material exactly as written but as if he was ad libbing, because he spent so many hours practicing to do it that way.
@MrsHyde92 Thank you for the comment. This was our first time listening to George and will will go back and finish the rest of the video. Thanks for watching.
Carlin's "Euphemisms" is by far my favorite comedy routine of his (even though I love most of his material overall.) - it focuses on "PC language", and after hearing it for the first time, I realized how much I truly despise the way that the government and businesses have softened the language that we speak here. I'm sure it's in most countries at this point as well, with multinational corporations, but yeah...If I'm not at work, I don't use PC language. This is my second video I've watched on this channel (just found the other Carlin video you reacted to), and it's great - subscribing :)
@Bryan Sproles Hello Bryan and thank you for the support and hope you enjoy the channel. We are more music reactors but like to brighten up the weekends with a bit of Comedy or Sport to change things up and also share a laugh. Hope you pop back soon. All the best
Well you cut it short. Other than that you are on with your comments. No it won’t be cancelled as it didn’t matter to him color or republican Democrat etc everything was fair game. It may be best if you react to a full show there fore you don’t cut it short. I’m sure you would need over an hour maybe two. But it will be worth it.
You don't hear from him to much, cause he died unexpectedly, he's a comedy icon in America... he's skits about the government were very funny but did open your eyes... wonder why he die so young 🤔.. 🤷♂️
You could have watched the entire video you started at and by the way he even said America is 2 continents there are 35 American countries George Carlin is from the one called the United States whether he was he passed away several years ago it is 90s or something. Just to finish off there's no country on planet earth there's never been a country on planet earth called America. Yes, legitimately when our founding fathers named the country in which I live they called it the United States of America. At that time there was no other countries on the continent of America other groups of people were living in colonies of European countries not the wrong countries. Think about what's in America now you have Canada of America Greenland of America Mexico of America Columbia of America Panama of America Haiti of America Cuba of America.
@@BritPopsReact If you want just plain Comedy from George Carlin, try "Hello, Goodbye", "Losing Things", "I Love My Dog". Those are just a few. Happy 2002 to the both of you and the rest of Great Britain. Cheers!
The difference between Carlin and today’s comics is that he wasn’t ideological. He went after both politicial parties, he went after every group, everyone was fair game. Today’s comic takes specific political stances and plays to the ideological audience for cheap applause lines. Late Night comics like Colbert, Kimmel and Meyers openly admitted to hating Trump so all jokes skew towards people that hate Trump. Carlin would have went after Trump and Biden and would have railed against the whole political system.
Copyright…. Otherwise it can get blocked, so we have to pause the video to technically transform the original :) we would rather not for comedy but still have too :) thanks for watching
@DaMimicker Well, yes that is why we are called a reaction channel. Otherwise, we would just be watching the video and it would more than likely be blocked. We do provide a link to the original video, which you can watch without us two. Cheers
I just found your channel today ✌️ you seriously need to check out more of his comedy this is intelligent comedy, a one off for sure 😄........ religion is bulls**t
@Fleck Smugbrother Haha, nice I see what you did there. We enjoyed that and will certainly be back with more from George soon. We have a real classic comedian for this coming Saturday. Stay tuned. Cheers
George was and remains the greatest comedian ever. He was more than just a comedian, he was a philosopher and a poet. He was ahead of his time.
His " Religion is Bullshit" and "Saving the Planet" are two of my favorites! In his old age he got political and cynical but I still loved him.
George Carlin was and is still considered what comedians aspire to be.
First introduction to him for me was in Broadcasting School, at the Defense Information School, where they played his cut about the Hippie Dippie weatherman, as an idea of how we were not supposed to act on air. That was in 1968, during the Vietnam war. I have been a fan ever since.

he did it for 50 years and covered everything from A-Z
One of Carlin’s funniest skit is doing the weather as if a tv weatherman. Hear we go again, since I think that was performed in the 70’s. What a decade!
He's one of the most intelligent comics hes a lot funnier and less angry In the seventies and eighties
I showed my son Carlin when he hit 13yo.
Watch Carlin’s on words you can’t say. Probably his most famous and controversial bit
is a teacher who like to be a comedian
George Carlin was the comedic poet philosopher of America . We desperately need another now .
Check out his bit on "The Difference Between Football And Baseball", FUNNY.

Mentioned two bits below but just thought of another. "Death Penalty" is hilarious, great shock value!
