  • Movement as Medicine is a documentary covering Helgi Olafson and his crew as they work together to complete the 2022 Cocodona 250. As many ultra endurance athletes know, in order to complete such challenging events you must tackle the race with purpose.
As a patient advocate of an autoimmune arthritis disease known as Ankylosing Spondylitis, Helgi doesn’t simply race to complete the course. Helgi races to maintain his own health and to inspire others suffering from the same disease.
Helgi's crew is composed of six pacers, two pacers who have also been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Together, Helgi and the crew demonstrate the value of working together to inspire one another, and hopefully those around us.

Great movie. I was so honored when I cheered you on this year at the Sedona Canyons 125 in Clarkdale, and you stopped to talk to me. I wish you the best and hope to see you again next year.❤

Helgi is a superman. He is one of the many everyday people with day jobs, working around their schedules to achieve unbelievable physical feats of endurance that inspires me. They are not seeking any glory or fame but are driven by purpose far beyond explanation and showing mankind that illness is just an obstacle. Our bodies are capable of much more than we think and we are only limited by our minds.
You've a earned a fan Helgi. Congrats to his crew and the production team on this story.
Awesome is the only word that comes to my mind.
Goodluck for the other crazy stuff that I'm sure will follow on from this.

What an inspiring man! I know constant training is the thing I need as well as someone with asthma and sarcoidosis I've faced low expectations my entire life from a world that thought I should be capable of less, and in reality there is no limit with training.

AS is so miserable (Zach Kornfeld from Try Guys has it as well). I love this concept of movement as medicine, and I have certainly experienced that first hand in the throws of grief.
