200 slum areas in Jakarta We call it kampung atau RW kumuh. @ 5000 peoples in 20,000 square metres. Total 1M peoples in 200 kampungs. In 4 Millions square metres. 700k people are from outside of jakarta. They have big house in their hometown. They rent house or built illegal house in Jakarta. 300k peoples are jakartans since 1950 or before, so they have land certified. Government of Jakarta already build more than 100 flat or semi apartment building since 2014 - 2023 or more than 30k new house or equal for 120k peoples. They build it in government land. But Its not enough So, government must buy land. The price of slum land is 10 millions rupiah / square metres. It cost 4 Millions square metres * 10 millions rupiah = 40 Trilyun rupiah Or 2 billions $. Its small cost. Cause jakarta have cash money 80 Trilyun rupiah /year. We can do this for next 10 years If we want to. But former gubernur 2017 - 2022 doesn't want that consept. Maybe our next gubernur 👍
But there are a few countries that manage to eradicate extreme poverty and homelessness. Took China some 30 years to lift more than 800 millions people out of poverty. If there’s a will, there’s a way, and the Chinese government was determined to eradicate poverty and they succeeded. Now 80% of the Chinese live a middle class lifestyle with very high standards of living. 80% middle class is an ideal percentage for all countries. China has 1.4 billion people, that’s huge. If China can do it, so can Indonesia. It takes a dedicated and determined government to do it. China still has rooms for improvement and they are thriving to clean up the rural areas. Though there are still many old houses in rural areas in China but they are not slums, many old houses are uninhabited and abandoned. What Indonesia needs is a good, strong government, free from corruption and greed.

Locals under rule, they can't simply beggar people's money, they must have something to sell minimum tissue paper. Most who doing this are disable people because hey can't do works like normal people. They also under protected and get paid by zakat center & social welfare department.

Those are slums? Oh God I feel really bad for my country now.
The 'rich' provincial government of Jakarta should provide comfortable 'communal' apartments to all of the residents of the slum areas (free of charge for renting, electricity&clean water)....The Jakarta provincial government also should give a kind of "endorsements", such as : stipends & job opportunities.. Usually those "poor" people are reluctant to move to another place due to " family reasons", job reasons, money shortages, no government assistance & no better alternatives ...Sorry this is only an opinion of a commoner. Thanks.

@@jomish8719 Ouchhh that is true! Despite of the fact that they build the house ion government land, slums habitant were offered to be relocated yet they didn't take the offer, living in slum is super cheap and near the center of Jakarta where they make money by selling food or work in construction or work in office building. True also that majority of those who live in slums are not Jakarta people but people came from onother cities and become burden to Jakarta budget. Government has been so generous to support them with free health insurance and free education up to high school level and many also enjoy education allowance through Smart Jakarta Card (Kartu Jakarta Pintar) and some enjoy scholarship allowance up to university.
related to health care ,i think go to work and paid and go back home with some money to fulfill the needed of their family more important rather then go to Puskesmas latter their won't be pay because of absent .

Jakartan are so unfortunate because the government not pro-people. No proper public housing mean, no clean water supply, electricity, sewage also waste management. The government keep allocate the budget to less priority or unnecessary project than straight to the people. It's not about cash money but a better life even it just a low cost apartment.

I have been live in Jakarta for 3 decades, I lived in Tokyo, and Hongkong too. I noticed that Jakarta problems is the weak goverment and people's mindset to go to big city and do nothing. Homeless, slums definitely getting worse there, and those people are screaming for money from government. And of course, the crooked government sold their lands to those people or mafia. What a shame, the government don't have such a control over their people. It is easier to nuke them for sure, otherwise they will rampage and go to the presidential palace for anarchy demonstration.
You want to nuke them? Thats harsh, they are just poor people. Maybe the government should build some low cost housing or apartments.
@@tubester4567 It is more complex than you think, the criminals coming from those slums. And the Facts is those poor people don't want to relocate to low-cost housing. The more fun facts all of them not local Jakartans. They are coming from rural areas without any job or skills and having a dream to get easy life in Jakarta. Unfortunately, it is not happening. What they do just occupied any empty lands for 1 generation and asking for compensation after relocate. Use your logic because THEY ARE POOR doesn't mean they are not wrong !

Haha, poor people have the most kids. The higher the income the fewer kids people have. The single highest correlation with birth rates is womens educational attainment. So the single most effective measure is to educate girls, relentlessly, all the way into and through university to higher degrees. And then you're like us, the west, where birth rates are below replacement. So pick your poison.

200 slum areas in Jakarta
We call it kampung atau RW kumuh.
But Its not enough
So, government must buy land.
The price of slum land is 10 millions rupiah / square metres.
It cost 4 Millions square metres * 10 millions rupiah
= 40 Trilyun rupiah
Or 2 billions $.
Its small cost.
Cause jakarta have cash money 80 Trilyun rupiah /year.
We can do this for next 10 years
If we want to.
But former gubernur 2017 - 2022 doesn't want that consept.
Maybe our next gubernur 👍
i guess every place has its poverty- even USA.
@@bell-xk5ddwell its easier to do in communist countries, they dont agree with the government, oh boy you will never know if you live or not tomorrow, communist countries is easier to govern their people cause they always use "shorcuts", and government doesnt even care if its morally good or not to use that kind of "shortcuts"

People living in slum communities must be offered free birth control as they may Not be able to afford it on their own or they may NOT be aware or adequately educated to see that it is the solution to gradually ( humanely ) phasing slum life out of a normal thriving, economically viable community. To also invest in their education and their transition into professional life that will allow them to transition out of the slum community gradually and humanely. This solution is worth the investment by the corporate rich.
soooooooooo have the adults realized that many kids is a bad thing atm? have they reduced having kids to maybe 1/household? as a responsible adult would?
Don't be such a git. Poor people are not irresponsible children, FFS. There are many reasons why they may have large families and your being a snide arse makes me wonder what sort of parents *you* have. Oh, China tried that one child thing. Turns out that it's not a great solution to poverty, lack of education/opportunities, poor infrastructure, socio-cultural issues and a host of other issues at play here.
