Night Shift At The Tank Factory - 1/35 Diorama

- My friends, a diorama taking place in a factory was something I always wanted to do. But with this model, I had to limit my options if I wanted the tank to be nicely visible from all angles. So let's see if I managed to capture the factory atmosphere with very limited options!

Disclaimer: I have a good relationship with a handful of modelling brands and stores, namely VMS, Michigan Toy Soldier Company, and AK-Interactive. As such, I'm happy to use their products/services, and show them in my work. In return, they support my efforts in this hobby, although my hands are not bound nor am I obligated to push one brand or the other. This was one of the founding ideas of the channel and I will always stand by this.

A boss standing around in the way with no idea about safety protocols? Sounds absolutely realistic to me.
Just another day at the job!
Take your point - but danger from welding, at that distance, would relate to electric welding: looking at the arc is a Bad Thing. However, there's hoses there, this is a gas torch (a cutting torch, to be precise) and there is no eye damaging level of UV from a gas flame.
Dude.. i guarantee some of your viewers would pay good money for your models. Have you thought about selling them..? Let us know.
@@TheRedruffian No, but heat radiation and sparks flying.
@@_Jester_ no radiation. Sparks and flying molten metal, yes. I use one almost daily.
This guy is the KING of military modelers...
This guy is the King of every modelers.
if he and plasmo joined forces.. nothing could stop them
Good way to finish the day with an uncle night shift video after my first week at my new school
same for me
I started school 6 weeks ago, but I get Friday's off.
"Doesn't look that BAD....????" Martin - this is INCREDIBLE!!! FANTASTIC JOB!!!
(just so you know, I try to watch every video you produce, and I haven't built a model in 50 years. These videos work as entertainment as well as for instruction.)
The bloopers at the end was the perfect ending.😂😂😂
The person squatting is using an oxy-acetylene cutting torch not a welder, so the bystander watching is perfectly fine. Brilliant work as usual mate :) :)
Amazing diorama as always! Just a little thing, the Deutsche Post was founded in 1947 after the war so technically the crates should have the Logo of the Reichspost :D
Oh my! Funny enough, the Reischspost decals are in the kit!
@@NightShiftScaleModels Haha it happens :D I guess that Ferdinand is just in an alternate universe where it sat in a warehouse all forgotten till after the war
Was thinking about that way to much
@NightShiftScaleMode Hate to tell you the 'this way up ' symbol was first used in the 1970s, not sure about the fragile and keep dry ones, but I don't think they were in use in the 40's either.
It makes me feel a lot better when this guy pumps out a fantastic model like this and still has doubts. Reminds me that we all go a little too hard on ourselves and it's ok to back off occasionally.
This is so cool, I think removing the walls was a great idea. It makes the tank the focus.
No wall, no cry! 😂Love the Bob Marley reference!
That is crazy good, the crates are my favorite, thanks for showing how you did the wood, simple but effective.
I gotta say I know you're not too impressed with the end result but you've taken a simple idea and made it a thing of beauty. I wish I had you're attention to detail and patience. It's a great diorama.
It would've been more epic with the factory walls in the background, but then again, we wouldn't be able to appreciate the Ferdinand from the other side :)
You could make a facade wall as a seperate piece for pictures. Best of both worlds@NightShiftScaleModels
Hi Martin, that was a totally stunning build/diorama, your talent is just so great to watch, andbyou are so free about passing on your knowledge and skill to all who watch, many thanks for what you do for this hobby, now to answe your question, I would vote for the plan crate, best regards from Australia, Les
It feels like a large factory floor, love it!!!
Hi Martin... I usually watch all your videos and don't write a comment because I don't even come close to the quality of your models. Of course I try to use your techniques as much as I can. But in this case I would like to give my opinion on your great diorama composition. I think your design without walls was a very good decision. Otherwise the building would have competed with the Ferdinand. A paradox that can be found on numerous dioramas at many exhibitions... so in this case less is more! Thank you for your great work and your significant contribution to our beloved YT plastic model building community. Best regards, Markus
I remember the first time I saw a commercial for TH-cam encouraging people to make TH-cam videos for a living. I was like, “Yeah, right!” But you have done it, my friend, and you do it so well.
You’re too humble. Your “not that bad” is my aspiration!
Don't worry about the whole welding with no mask thing. It's an oxyacetylene torch welder, so you don't super need a mask. Stunning work as always!
You never welded with an oxy torch, have you?
Waiting for your Friday drops is hard, but always worth it. I also appreciate the effort you make to explain the products and techniques you use, and why you use them.
You take us to the nicest places, uncle Night Shift.
your videos are becoming even better and more interesting now that I started to make dioramas for my models, they are an endless source of ideas and excellent tips
Great job brother, Love the light and shadow on your work. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! All of the boxes look great. Mind blown at painting each cobblestone with the chipping 😮
How big is your Sneaker collection Uncle NS,You don’t dissapoint with the drip again. :)
Haha, it's very humble... 2 pairs of Dunks, 1 of Jordans, and 7 pairs of AF1s... so far :)
@@NightShiftScaleModels Ha nice, similar to mine, can't wait to see all of them in more vids to come.
That came out great and was well worth all the extra effort required to highlight all them stones. I love how your wood came out as well.
a great diorama and love the tips along the way, especially the crates
The intense black contrast is kind of your signature, imo.
love the brick texture on the diorama thank you for the video!
Absolute work of art 🎨
It's just amazing what can be made with patience and paint.
Awesome. I recently saw a model where they used a flickering blue led for welding. It looked really good. BTW that logo on the side at back is that of 656.Panzerjäger-Regiment
You have such steady hands. You shouldn't be a modeler, you should be a surgeon.
Incredible work.
Stunning video, love the stone work.
Awesome job looks fantastic
🔵🔵🔵🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍🔵🔵🔵
I was so happy to see this video today! I am a bit late to the party but it’s awesome as always! Thanks for making my already-nice day even better!
Those boxes are amazing!
Lovely diorama, you should try washes made with pigments diluted in X20A for the texture of concrete or rocks, I love the results of that mix
I am just starting scale modeling, and I've learned so much from your videos. I am so happy when a new video of yours drops. Thanks so much for the inspiration and tutelage you provide with your content!
Incredible details...and talent!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Fantastic work mate, as ever. 👏
MA FRENS!
The best way to start a weekend!
Děkuji. Ve Tvých videích je hodně inspirace. Pěkná práce..
Fantastic job !!!!!!!
Those bloopers were pretty funny. I guess I never thought about having to actually go out into the world to film those intros.
Happy Friday! Uncle Night Shift with another great video!
That has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Man I wish I had half of your talent.
Excellent Job, friend!
Loving the blooper reel, man 😁 Great work, as always. Thank you for sharing and especially for your explanation of techniques.
Excellent work as always! I challenge you to do a Gunpla or a Tau mech suit at some point! See what you can do with them!
Looking great, a very good way to utilize cramped area.
Good job, really love the figures you paint it.They look life like an a diarrhea's perfect.Always love seeing your videos.Keep up the good work can't wait to see your next one
Love It , Love It , Love It 😍
Your figures are always KILLER !!!
Superb job mate. Absolutely superb
So I only do a bit of modelling (mainly time and kids get in the way) however I have an idea for a tank factory - my grandfather built turrets for Vickers in Leeds during World War II he was too old to be conscripted.
I’m still trying to get the reference material together of the factory and also confirm the tank they were building which I think was the Cromwell - your beautiful piece of art here is definitely motivation! Thanks chief!
Good stuff. Those cobbles look brilliant
Absolutely stunning, as always! I really like the natural wood finish on the crates.
У Вас один из лучших каналов о моделях. Спасибо за ваше мастерство.
Cobblestones are great, right now I’m building some in H0.
Another great product for sealing styrofoam that you can paint over is thinned Mod Podge.
I was ready for this. I re-watched a few of your three & four year-old build videos just last week. This made my day.
Those boxes you are really cool, I'm to have try that myself. And that factory looks amazing, the amount of work you put into it does show. Enjoy
Dude...thank you so much for posting this.....I'm learning so much
There are rumors that Martin continues to walk around the plant trying to record a greeting for us))))
As someone who works in a factory. The place is ALWAYS clean. Even if it’s just 15 minutes before home time. A clean factory reduces accidents and in the case of oil spills, gets rid of fire hazards. You don’t want your tank factories burning down.
But since this is very late war, I’ll allow it.
Maybe you do want your factory burning down?
A CLEAN factory is a factory that is NOT PRODUCING product.
This is coming from someone who has been in industry for 15 years
True, but sawdust used to clean up oil spills tends to get everywhere over time in factories.
Thank you Master, gracias por seguir compartiendo e inspirando !!!
You did a great job on that diorama. Outstanding job.
Fantastic as allways.
Outstanding diorama. I love that factory floor❤
Outstanding job.
12:37 sickest pre shading I’ve seen yet! You make it look so easy 🤩🤩🤩
Utterly superb. Stellar. What an inspiration you are Martin!
We saw uncle Night Shift saying Night shift. Absolute Cinema
You're just crazy. Plain crazy.
Waiting for more 😁
I really enjoy your videos and the addition of the bloopers makes them even better!!! Keep up the great (and funny) work!!!
Looks great! Love how the detail came out.
Had an idea. A window facade with someone aiming an anti-tank weapon through the wndow.
AMAZING! AMAZING! THIS IS VERY NICE!
Been looking forward to this one. Lovely model.
Since you asked, I like the green crate the most. It reminds me of exploring old wooden farmhouses where everything had grown mold and moss as it decayed.
Great video
Really nice diorama. I'm always amazed by your work!
Waouh, just amazing job 😍😍😍
Excited to see what this mystery civilian project is!
Astonishing! Real artistry.
Como siempre...genial!!!
This would look superb in a Diorama with those ball tanks.
Servus Martin. Wieder ein fantastisches Diorama. Eine absolute Kunst wie du mit Farben aus einem Baumaterial eine wunderschöne Straße kreierst mit vielen kleinen Detail. Danke für deine tollen Videos. Grüße Tino
Very nice, as usual. A side note, a bystander really doesn't need eye protection to observe oxygen-acetylene welding or cutting. I've cut plates with just sunglasses on. See you on the next one.
You 100% do need eye protection. That bright blue/white light will destroy your retinas.
that brick wall and metal door in the intro!!
Awesome job...as always!!!
Love that yellow line.
"Mmm, brick, my favourite"
Perfect as usual
Your works of art should be in art galleries
Another fine piece of work. Nicely done
Gorgeously detailed ❤😊❤
Civilian!! Already looking forward.
Tolik práce s úvodem...😁Jen malá poznámka, hadice u svářečky bývají zruba po metru a půl svázané k sobě.Aby se nezamotávaly.
Fantastic as always, your painting, pre shading, etc is awesome.
Actually one of my favorites! Well done 🍷
