    It’s really great to see some advice that isn’t judgmental and acknowledges that we haven’t all been dealt the same cards in life and that being in debt more often than not is circumstantial rather than poor money management, although a lack of financial literacy definitely also isn’t helping. Your videos are really great as they encourage people that no matter their situation, there are steps they can take to improve. Keep up the good work ❤

    I agree to a point. If you're already missing payments then stop paying them for a period of time and spend all your money paying off the smallest to largest as stated in the video. Most creditors won't charge off your debt for 6 months.

    Hi Rich BFF, Would it be possible to discuss credit reports and how to remove debt or dings on your credit report? Scenario: I left Verizon at the end a payment cycle to ensure when I went to Sprint I did not have a bill. Now on my credit report years later there is an outstanding balance for Verizon less than $100 but I don't know how to dispute or get it removed as it has literally been years since I have had their service. Can you please give some advice on how to handle this? And how can you quickly raise your credit score? Thank you in advance.

    • @Eileen49654
      @Eileen49654 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Write all three credit bureaus to get a copy of your reports
      If there is negative credit find out how old each one is
      By LAW the credit bureaus are only allowed to keep somthing on your report for 7 years
      If it's gone past that tell them to take it off and they will, they will only do it if you tell them to
      If it's not been 7 years tell them you want to dispute it, the company who's reporting bad credit will have to prove ypu owe it and why, if they cant or don't it will get taken off or you can tell them to take it off

    Hey Vivian, my rich BFF. What would your advice be if someone has 0% interest debt for a short term. I keep getting offers for 30 month 0% balance or money transfer offers. I have a secure job even in a downturn, but never going to get rich from it. Would you take on the 0% debt to invest in something safe like government bonds / some other asset while inflation eats away at the balance? Seems like I could borrow cheap and invest in something then pay it off at the end.

    Hi Vivian! For strategy #4, you mentioned that the credit card companies require that the accounts must be closed if they are in a debt management plan. Wouldn’t that hurt the credit score - specifically impacting the length of credit history? I tried applying for personal loans but my numbers are really bad and keep getting rejected 😢

    Where would you suggest looking if you want to switch credit cards? I asked my credit card company if they would lower my interest rate I said you know I always pay ahead of the due date and I pay at least three times the amount that's required. Basically I added but I put on the credit card that week and I pay that amount on Friday morning. They said I couldn't get my interest rate lowered or my credit limit raised.

    I owe on a store specific credit card, and I think I owe my [former] bank (account not closed, but not currently, actively used). Is there a way to find out my balances without alerting the collections people? I haven't made payments in a few years, but now I have a job, and would like to do whatever I can to increase/re-establish my credit [score]. -- Thanks, Viv. You really are my rich BFF.

      are you closing out the accounts when you pay down the balances on your lines of credit? This usually happens with lines of credit like auto and personal loans, or student debt since once that LoC has fully been paid off the LoC closes. Paying down credit cards or revolving lines of credit shouldn’t have this problem since they stay open once the balance is paid down.

      Make sure you have 3 to 6 months of safety net, they pay off that debt! It is unlikely that you'll find anything paying you over 20%, so the debt will eat up more than you earned off an investment.
