I envy the Singaporeans because during the time that Singapore was experiencing an economic crisis, Philippines was second to Japan in terms of economic stability, I was still in my elementary schooling at that time, then Lee Kuan Yew became their Prime Minister and gallantly initiated changes and as the years went by Singapore has become financially stable unlike here in the Phillippines where politicians only enrich themselves once they become leaders, and has been in this situation until now.

Yeah, if only we had leaders that truly devoted themselves entirely to the country instead of siphoning our riches abroad. I really hate Marcoses and the mentality that the elite have in this country.

Watching in 2023, while SG progresses, PH continues to toll down with corruption and red tape. PH could've been a real economic force if not for the bad system the Filipinos suffers these days. We got great natural resources and amazing people who works overseas that's the pride we had but the elites in the country will always dominate and dictate and we knew that it will remain for a long time if not forever.

A better comparison would really be to Malaysia from whence Singapore emerged from. Two countries entwine in kindred couldnt be more different today. The more endowed sibling squandered while the more strapped but conscientious indefatigable sibiling prospered. The British practically left both countries with a legal system bar none, a functioning parliametary system, administrative civil service structure and a legacy of the English language. The world could not have run a more controlled real-life experiment on nation-building than the story of Malaysia and Singapore.

If LKY could see the UK as it is today, he would be aghast at how a civilized society could have regressed so quickly within one generation

langkah Lee Kuan Yew bener2 langkah yang Islami, dibuang ke tempat kecil, tdk ada apa apa, tdk dilirik orang, tapi bs mengubah tempat tsb menjadi permata yang berharga.
    karena politik LKY dibuang...
tapi dia tidak meratapi nasib, dia tdk mendendam, dia tdk menjadikannya energi negatif...
sistem Islam itu mengalah, dimanapun berada akan mengubah keadaan menjadi baik, berdampak positif, memotivasi, menginspirasi, itulah rahmatan lil alamin.
    respect LKY and Singapore
insya Allah menuju nusantara jaya 2045

Dr Goh Keng Swee really contributes alot to the successs of singapore

Keng Swee got fed up of politics and wanted to resign in July 1965. It is after that Lee agreed to the separation. Lee does not know the history of S.E.Asia. He was unable to work after August 1965. It was Keng Swee who transformed Singapore. Lee's best years in politics were between 1954 and 1963.
