    Great video, I have the riot kit and initially I thought they were really loud and I mean when I ran the wheels inside just listening to it. In saying that, once I got out riding the board on roads/paths...you forget about the noise its like you said...its not overly loud it seems once your out and on it. It's now not enough of a deal for me to justify buying the hub. One thing I am curious of is if you have a mad steep hill or steepish....how do both compare. Will the hub get up any hill the riot can get up but slower maybe? I'm also super curious if exway are bring out a direct drive for the Wave...I heard somewhere they are for their new AT board whataver it is. Great video though!! ...Just watched the video again, that hub does sound pretty stealthy.. I do appreciate quite board

      Thanks for the feedback. I live in Houston which feels like the flattest place on earth 😂. But I have ridden my Flex in some parking garages with a Riot kid downtown and it did amazing. Next we do a group ride I might take the Wave. But parking garages are about the best “hill” I can test anything on. Other than if I can make it to my sisters house soon.
      I have no idea if they will do a direct drive for the Wave, but I do know one will be coming for the Atlas. But no telling when that will happen. I have never personally even ridden a board with direct drive, but it sounds like the best of both worlds.

    What about the range, is there a difference?

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless you put bigger wheels on range should be pretty close.

    Hi I was really wondering if you think the wave riot would attract a lot of attention in college because of the noise ? Thank you!

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The sound of riding it really isn’t that loud as far as either motor goes. I hitting seams in the side walk are what make the most noise on my board. I need to test it with the rubber wheels I have. I think that would reduce the sound a good bit. IMO the thing that would attract the most attention would be if your hauling ass around. But if your just cruising at a fairly normal speed I think you could blend in pretty well. I am assuming your maybe not supposed to ride one? But if your paying attention and see a cop you could just let off the remote and start kicking like a traditional skateboard.

    Have you or will in the future try Eovan boards? :)

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t ever tried any of their boards. I would love to try one in the future.
      The problem I am running into is I don’t know that I can really call myself a “board reviewer” at this point. I am not really sure how some people end up with a lot of demo boards. But I personally just can’t fully fund the hobby on $30 a month in Adsense... To say the least I am in the hole on making these videos, which I don’t do for the money at all. But I just can’t afford to get a lot of different boards.
      If they ever find me and wanted me to do a review I would love to~! Or many this channel will grow a bit more and I will definitely be picking one up.

    I ended up buying the hub drive train after buying the wave with the riot. I love the hub. For just cruising slowly into town and grabbing coffee... I prefer the hub. I have another premium board that’s belt drive but for what I do with wave, I’m loving the hub

    Was wondering if there is a difference in comfort with belt vs hub

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think belt is a little more comfortable. Wheels are a little thicker. Then the is the options of softer wheels.
      But I think I notice a bigger comfort difference in a flexible deck. But if your looking at just the Wave then I would say belts win by a little.

    Have just been talking to someone with a hub., nice board. Yes hubs do go hard over the cracks..
    My board not Exway ( Black Hawk pro ) is hub, what I like with hubs you don't have the problem with crap in belts.

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true the both have their pros and cons. More wheel options for hubs is such a game changer.

    • @chuckmaddison2924
      @chuckmaddison2924 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LizzKillian Agree the wheel option is a big thing. Where I ride around Lake Joondalup pods off trees are a big problem.. My Black Hawk has 90 mm but my cheap single drive only about 70 mm which resulted in bad and bloody accident with a seed pod.
      I have ridden a chain drive scooter and that just crushes the seed pods.

      @@LizzKillian so I don’t know if I caught that right but you said there will be others hub wheel options??

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gabrieladdenbrooke1964 So currently for the Wave I only know of the stock hub sleeves and now the cloud sleeves. But I have seen some other ones for other boards. I feel like the future for hubs is definitely bright and think there is a good chance for more options in the future. But that’s just my opinion and no facts to base that off of other than seen more sleeve options for stuff.

    Great review - Thank You Lizz! It would be nice to see a Hub / Riot comparison carried out on the same car park ramp (same run up distance / same hill start / same battery - that kind of thing) - the reason being is I live in a hilly part of the UK where noisy boards can land you in trouble, so there is a trade off with the risk of the board being seized or maybe struggling with the hills. iPhones have a Degrees Level under the Measure App (if you have one). Thanks again for the review!

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll keep that in mind for the future.
      If you live in a place that runs that high a risk I think I would just go hubs and play it safe. Not sure it’s worth the risk with what electric boards cost imo.

    So i just got my first long board. I went with a wowgo 3 which is a hub motor and i love it. I love how hub motor is less maintenance. Right now im looking for a short board and was thinking about exway wave but im so confuse if i should go hub or riot. I hate doing maintenance and with cloud wheel doing donuts i dont know if i should keep sticking with hub motor

    • @LizzKillian
      @LizzKillian  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely a personal decision. I will say changing belts is pretty easy. Easier than changing hub sleeves imo.
      I suppose one thing you can ask your self is are you okay with exway wheels and the could donuts as your only wheel options? If any other wheels interest you that might make the decision easier.

      That's sucks. I thought they were doing free shipping by sea still. I knew they had a paid option for faster shipping. But last time I had looked the still offered sea shipping like the other companies.
      Don't blame you for not waiting to pay that.
