Manchester United's Transfer Policy: EVERYTHING You Need To Know REVEALED!

  • Change is coming at Manchester United.
The niggles and deficiencies once left ignored are now seemingly being repaired
and replaced. The differences between Glazers and INEOS are already obvious.
For the past 10/11 years, it’s been evident that United’s recruitment has
dwindled in every possible way post-Sir Alex. There’s not a world where you
    could argue otherwise.
United’s biggest failures are found in the recruitment, but there’s still time to
    change this.
It’s been clear as day for over a decade that United needed a recruitment
    specialist.
We’re getting this finally from INEOS, with Ashworth, Wilcox, Berrada and Vivell.
There are still problems. Big problems, and the top men in this operation see it

The rot started in the summer of 2009 after the CL final. We won a couple of titles after in a poor league and threw one away but it’s evident we were on a downward trajectory following that night in Rome and were asleep at the wheel while City were getting their act together

i agreed with everything you just said well done A list should be made up of players which fit into the system you want to play which should be of similar quality and see which one you can get for the price you have set..if you are looking for a left footed player to play on the right wing ,buy a player that has been doing that at his club , dont buy a right footed player who you hope can play there

We had Ferguson and Gill doing the transfers. Gill was leaving while Ferguson was staying on but then the accident with Fergies wife happened and that made him retire the same year Gill went. With both of them gone we had no one with any football knowledge put in place to replace them in recruitment. INEOS are starting to put those foundations back into the club and so far the caliber of staff they’ve brought in are top notch and can only be good for the clubs future

Changes ok, but spending millions on an injury prone CB in De Ligt, when you do not have unlimited funds, is kinda dumb still. We just had Varane in the same exact mold. It sounds to me as INEOS either gave ETH a bit of slack and saif ok we will get your guy if you really want it, or they still dont have no clue and rely on ETH completely. This transfer window might be just one more step into the depth of our struggles. It looks like it so far imo. Get those 20 to 25 year old players who wants to get to the next step. There are dozens of them that we can actually get in the squad.

  • @mh4841

One of the key patterns under Woodward was signings like Maguire and AWB. If you're going to give in and pay the higher price, then at least do it early. Bringing in players last minute always put the player under extra pressure and less time to bed in. Even Fellaini, regardless of how you rate him, United could've brought him in earlier at a lower cost due to a £23m. Instead, they paid more on the last day of the season and ramped up the pressure, same as Maguire.

The succession plan was non existant when Furguson left and it mirrors almost exactly what happened when Busby retired. Both of them retired leaving aging teams full of issues in the dressing. Busbies team ended up getting relegated and spent years in the wilderness and had a succession of managers the only difference is since Furguson left we did not get relegated but have spent years in the wilderness. Hopefully things are getting sorted but it will not be quick.

United's scouting network is mediocre. Whatever list of files they may have in their office is useless, since all they buy are obvious, open, transfer listed, aging and discarded or declining talent - full of injuries on *RECORD* (aka Varane).
The last time United's scouting network worked was Ruud, maybe Stam, or say Forlan (who did well when he moved on, but he was great, everyone knows that). THey also found Pogba... then something happened and it all imploded. WTH happened...? I still remember, I was perplexed when they found Javier Hernandez... but it worked out, gave us something we didn't have (poacher)... and suddenly, we are doing 80 mil on Maguire... freakin Maguire...

In my belief Antony will play better with Dalot in position at RB instead of playing out of position at LB. They both speak Portuguese and can communicate better while playing. AWB is not a RB that drives forward very well so Antony has no help.

Thing is Garnacho absolutely benefits from having AwB behind him because he has to track back that much lesser as compared to Dalot because AwB can handle tricky wingers and overlapping fullbacks and close their lanes down Better than Dalot can... There's games in which you need some Wild cards to combat other wild card players...

You want another 8 ahead of a LB? Seriously? Mount, McTominay, Mainoo already play there, Bruno being played further back sometimes. We have 7 wingers and you want another. We have one CDM whose legs are gone and 2 LBs who were both injured the entire season. Only one number 9. Let’s complete numbers (obviously with quality), get some wingers out of the door and then think about the rest

United are in no way close to get top talent to the club with the current state of training facilities, stadium and overall standards at the club. Maybe in 5 years time can there be a turnaround. Football players have come to Untied in the past 10-15 years to turned into total crap. And any footballer that actually wants to win something - will have multiple better choices to make a better career than at United.

Too early to say, they've replaced some backroom staff with some good names. Looking at the De Ligt transfer is there much difference between Ineos and woodward paying potentially 250k - 300k p/w for De Ligt. Before someone comments how we're magically going to get him for 120k p/w, you couldn't name 5 players in the prem that have had a -£100k paycut to join a team, it's just cope.
We spent this season, flirting with sacking ETH and replacing him with southgate and filled his team with a bunch of panic loans: Weghorst, Arambat etc.
There hasn't been any movement of selling some of Ole's underperforming team that have been here for years. Scott Mctominay, AWB etc.
Back to De Ligt if he doesn't workout, it's just another (injury prone superstar) OR (aging superstar) name you're stuck with on silly wages (Potentially)
It's very early days, and mistakes will be made. But i hope you're right Ste, cause i'm not that optimistic right now, but when things settle that might change.

Agree that mistakes will be made but I don’t recognise the need to be pessemistic.
I wouldn’t go as far as saying everything is going to be amazing from here on out and we have a world class setup. But what I would say, without a doubt in my mind, is that there will be a huge improvement across the board at the club going forwards.
Whether that improvement is of such that we win the Prem/CL consistently remains to be seen.

We have gone from Woodward/Arnold/Murtough to Blanc/Brailsford/Berrada/Ashworth/Wilcox/Villeck. Does it need explaining how this is a clear and tangible upgrade?
We have gone from zero plans with stadium/training facilities to an active feasibility study on Old Trafford, formal plans for carrington, and short term stadium upgrades as we speak. Again, how is this anything but a step in the right direction?
I only see our current position as better than where we were 12 months ago. The question is - are we now in a better position than our rivals are to mount a sustained title challenge within the next X number of years?
Its entirely safe to be optimistic/excited. The question is HOW optimistic/excited should we get.

      1) do you understand that football results depends on the strength of recruitment? Would you not agree that improving recruitment improves the football?
      2) do you understand that professional and experienced transfer gurus (i.e. Villeck/Wilcox/Ashworth/Berrada) are better at recruitment than bankers (arnold)? If you disagree that these new guys are better please explain. Explain how woodward/arnold are no worse than them.
      3) do you realise that better quality stadium/facilities helps attract better players? This one is pretty basic. Have you ever had a job interview in a building thats falling apart?
      4) Southgate nearly happened? When did this happen? The only information i can see on this is that Ashworth and Southgate are mates. Since when does having a mate automatically equate to nearly hiring that mate? Am i missing something?
      5) Yes i have worked at a high level corporation, and yes i agree that change isnt always an improvement. But that does not mean that Ashworth and co are not a clear and obvious upgrade on Murtough and co. To exaggerate a point to make a point - its like replacing Liz Truss with a qualified political leader and saying ''lets not get carried away lads, change doesn't always make things better''.....
      6) Actually yes, it does seem like i need to explain some things to you pal, you clearly dont even understand how basic recruitment structures and strategy works.
