There are NO other clubs in talks for Matthijs de Ligt because the
player’s full focus is on Manchester United.
Matthijs de Ligt will not create an issue in the salary negotiation
with Manchester United. The contract will not be a problem.
    Christian Falk
In addition to Manchester United, PSG have also contacted
Bayern Munich to express their interest in Matthijs de Ligt.
    Harry Maguire
    TalkSport
Manchester United are willing to cash in on Harry Maguire this
summer. He has admirers in Italy.
    Amrabat
    Christopher Michel
Erik ten Hag wants to keep Sofyan Amrabat which would make it
difficult for the club to sign another defensive midfielder.
    Muppetiers Updates
    ● United were heavily limited by the PSR
    ● As of now, United didn't put up 2nd offer for
Branthwaite. Deal on pause right now. United is still
interested, they didn't gave up on him
    ● At first De Ligt was not an option due to the cost and
    wages
    ● But as soon as United heard his price would be lower
and wage demands they became interested
    ● United are looking to give him around 175k - 200k per
    week
    ● United are ready to pay the release clause for Zirkzee
    ● United would like to sign Ugarte for around £35m with
    addons
    ● Nothing imminent on Ugarte, he is focused on Copa
    America

Maybe I am just a bit confused but if De Ligt is that good why are they okay with selling him so early into his time there? Worries me that at 24 he seems to be out of favour at Bayern who signed him for a huge transfer fee especially for them and now want to sell him for a cut price? Apparently he looked really good in the first season but now it seems like Eric Dier is their choice over him. If that's not a bit of a worry then what is? He's not even able to start for his country. Granted the competition is steep at CB with Van Dijk, De Vrij, and Ake there but still, he played more when he was a 19-20 for his country than now at 24 and the competition for CB is largely still the same players. It is obvious that he has quality, and watching him play it is easy to see what he excels in but why are teams happy to sell him then? He's got a slightly worrying injury record, and the wages seem high (apparently around 275k euros a week), and he has fallen out of favour at club and national level. In no way am I saying he wouldn't be able to start at United considering the state of the club and Varane leaving but this seems like a very risky signing that has largely been a miss for two big clubs and I think if it weren't Ten Hag then we wouldn't be in for him. He signed Martinez, but he also signed Antony so I wouldn't trust his word anymore. I don't think we should be so keen on signing De Ligt if the price isn't negotiated down on him and he lowers his wages by a lot. Otherwise this would be no different than every other overpriced signing United have made because either we were desperate or just fully trusted Ten Hag for no reason. Does anyone else find this a concern?

    • @64Ahmed
      @64Ahmed 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@ClihtYeastwood you're saying something that is not necessarily wrong but it is too abstract to mean anything, the whole cohesive team perspective depends on the rest of the team as well, if Rashford plays in a side that caters to his strength and plays a fitting style of football he will seem like a strong part of that unit, but how often has that happened at utd for him? Remember his partnerships with the likes of martial and greenwood,
A good example would be Ronaldo at real madrid, a different caliber but a similar style of player, the real madrid team didnt say ronaldo is selfish and isnt passing to us but instead allowed him to focus on his strengths and collectively made up for the weaknesses he had,
The same should be done for Rashford, he has the quality to be on the best goal scorers and even creators if the team played to that strength and if he is in the right state of mind,
That's not an easy task but to dismiss "selfish" players as a problem is wrong imo and too simplistic and abstract to mean anything,
Working on a team set up with Rashford and working with him personally to get his head right is definitely the best option rather than gambling on another sancho/antony

@@64Ahmed Rashford isn't good enough or consistent enough to have the team built around him. No exceptions were made for Ronaldo during his time at United. Real Madrid were willing to do it because Ronaldo was scoring 50+ goals a season. Regardless, there is basically no team doing that any more. It's all about the collective these days. Rashford is selfish with the ball and has zero work rate. Unless he can change that, then I would much rather have a hardworking, creative wide player who might only get us 15 goals a season but will also contribute outside of just goal scoring. Mahrez played around 50 games per season for City over a 5 year period and scored an average of 15 goals per season.

@@grocno796 Rashford can be very very productive in favorable conditions, İ understand and somewhat agree that he hasnt been good enough but how many players in the world are actually at the required level? And what guarantees they maintain that level? And how many of them are attainable in the first place?
The problem is that you isolate Rashford and deem him not good enough which is fair but to see we need to get rid of him is stupid.
We've had four perfect examples of how it could go if we sell Rashford and replace him with anyone else, these examples are Ronaldo, sancho, antony and amad. whoever you think is better than Rashford and should be brought in can easily have the same fate,
Simply saying Rashford is inconsistent doesn't mean anything, why is he inconsistent? When has he been inconsistent? When he has no LB and no striker to link with him his performance drops drastically, then maybe the focus should be on improving the conditions for him.

As an foreigner looking at the England squad it looks pretty weak in all honesty. Other than Walker the backline is shit. Pickford isn't that great of a keeper. The midfield is scaringly bad. If Rice would get injured you would be in BIG trouble. The wide players along with Kane and Bellingham are good. They are just not working good together at the moment

De Ligt is a gamble we don’t need to be making. 2 seasons at Juve and didn’t cut it there. 2 seasons at Bayern and he hasn’t cut it there either. Eric Dier is playing ahead of him. Couple that with high wages and a terrible injury record of late and we’re better off looking elsewhere. It’s a typical United signing… which is what we need to avoid!

Talking absolute wibble there, nephew. Won the Scudetto and the Italian cup and Italian super cup in his 3 years there. Played more games than any other Juve player in his final season and he turned down a contract extension. And in his time at Bayern, he won the Bundesliga and German super cup. There's currently a petition from Bayern fans begging him to stay. But you know, just rehash what you've heard the last uninformed casual say.

Eric Dier playing over him also means nothing. Bayern won nothing this season, with dier playing over him 😂.
Sometimes it just doesn’t work out for a player at a club, there are endless examples of this in modern football, and endless reasons as to why that could be.
Few players, when on big wages, will themselves seek out a new challenge to revitalize their career, most are comfortable to just collect cash.
De Ligt appears to want to find that right club for himself first… ambition is a very important trait to have as a footballer.

The player is on loan at Girona from a french team that's also owned by City Group, so hes being bought from the french side, not Girona. That's how city are getting around the issue as the french team arent in the same continental competition as City. Whereas Utd and Nice will be.

You could not comprehend the heat you would experience managing the England team. Your coaching experience means nothing until you can apply it under the pressure of the world stage. It is literally the same as saying a football player running rings around people at under 13 level should be able to do it in the premier league. Different game. I think you know and understand this Mr Howson but the spirit of ego and ignorance gripped you momentarily and caused you to spout nonsense.

I’m not signing De Ligt unless it’s 30 or less and everything, including wages are incentives based. I don’t think we play a high enough line for his rumoured lack of speed to be an issue. He does move the ball well. Bayern play too high IMO and they have quality CB’s including De Ligt, and they all get caught at times. I was honestly shocked that he is still 24, hopefully we can get a staff in that can help these lads with injury prevention, recovery and lifestyle adjustments so they can be healthier. I’d still be reluctant because of his injury record, which does make him a fit with this lot.

Ok so I need to defend my comment a little bit it would seem I said Southgate deserves more respect. I don't like him and I don't think he's done a good job but he's played the teams in front of him and got us to the semi final and finals of the last 2 tournaments. Surely your points about the nationals teams of back in the day are relative to the team we also had back in the day. Was England not an amazing group of players in the early 2000s? The game changes and the best players in the world now are the best now so Southgate can only play against what there is. England also aren't as good as they used to be so I really don't understand the points you were making against Southgate deserving a little more respect.

Ultimately for me its a matter of he's put us in the conversation of winning a cup and so he's done more than some other managers that should warrant a little bit of respect. I 100% think he should get the sack but I think we will look back on Southgates time as England manager quite fondly in the times we go decades without making it to a final or semi final.
