1989, an explosion occurred on the battleship USS IOWA in the open breech of a 16-in. gun, killing 47 crew members. I was in the Navy at that time. We all remember hearing about it and was a sad day.

As stated before any Russian ship, including it's frigates are so poorly maintained that using them in any true naval warfare is really questionable.

If Japan has such a strong Battle Ship why is it not named after Mount Fuji? Mount Fuji is a very strong mountain and I seem to remember it being a volcano. A destroyer named after a volcano would be more appropriate, don't you think.
