For your first P3 video, nicely done. I'm surprised nobody has made a suggestion for your prop guards. My suggestion: As they are very thin plastic, they will respond quickly to a hair dryer. Keep the hot air away from the blades, or remove them, and just heat the guards enough to allow them to bend a bit and then cool in the new position. You should be able to make them more parallel to the path of the prop, so the gap is the same on both ends. Another mod you have no doubt seen by now is the landing 'feet' to give the quad better stability, especially on landing, where it tends to tip over. The guards will prevent damage, unless the ground has twigs or other debris that may catch on the props. Others have made custom ones from plastic (Perspex/Plexiglass) and even thin wooden dowels. Note that too much over 1.5" in front might be in the camera's view. Another is a camera/gimbal guard on the bottom between the legs, made from carbon fiber, to prevent damage on landing. Some pilots just catch the drone to avoid landing.
Steve, If you look at your motors from eye level -from the end of the motor arm looking in towards the center of the drone, you will notice that the motors each have a slight lean to them. This is why the blades come close to hitting the guards on one side and are higher on the other. Highest Regards, Scott
Scott Tempesta thanks for watching! I'll check that out this weekend.....makes me wonder if it's the screws provided with them being too long or different lengths that I didn't notice. Thanks for the catch!
LOL.. No. The drones are built that way. I believe they are engineered that way to make the flight more stable. Nothing to worry about as they're supposed to be that way out of the box. You didn't do anything wrong.
Solid informational video buddy! You will get more comfortable on camera, but all the stuff you have i have on my phantom or am in the process of putting on! Keep up the good work
Derrick Wallace thank you for watching. Since you have the same options, keep an eye out for one of my next videos, I'll be doing a DIY antenna car kit for the Phantom 3 Standard with the antenna upgrade. Happy flying!
Great Video, I bought myself the same drone for Christmas. I'm in Colorado and it's cold right now but I have still flown it 13 times in three days...lol My upgrade parts are on the way now. Thanks again for the video.
just because you can get stuck on a tree with all that things around your propellers, but if you do this for your safety or peoples safety,i totally agree!!Enjoy your Ph3, it is the best quad i ever flown!!You'll be stunned :-D
Great overview bud 👍 I've been watching all of JTO's videos too lol. He's excellent at presentation for sure. Great job yourself though ESPECIALLY for a first video. You must have a job where you speak publically right? Seriously, well done sir :) Subbed. side note:. I really enjoyed the bloopers. I cut together bloopers for the end of my first video however many years ago that was and still go back and watch it sometimes haha. It should be required for all first time uploaders to provide a blooper reel lol.
Inconsistent TechDad Thank You! Sales and Marketing lol which I'll be attempting some of those videos too. I'll be doing a video soon for a DIY car kit to go with the ARGtek antenna upgrade! Thanks for watching and the compliments! Yes, mandatory bloopers would be great!! lol
Rusty Maverick I'm using the Samsung Tab3 10.1, I'm not too happy with the performance of it though, the video skips frequently unlike my phone. I'm guessing it's because of its age. Thanks for watching!
Did you say you use two screws as opposed to four screws .four will give you more strength the screws from the kit are longer make sure you put the long screws four in each guard
Enterprise Galileo ll thanks for watching! When I watched it I realized I wasn't very clear on that too, I used the four screws provided with the guards. I still haven't had the confidence to use them flying yet...
Great video Steve. I fly in central IN and I really want to get the ARGtek mod. I'm hoping it helps with the trees! Everyone does range tests but I'm curious how far they will go in the "burbs." I've done one video with my standard so far. th-cam.com/users/davidmccabe
David McCabe thanks for watching! I have flown around trees and haven't had any issues with the signal.....knock on wood lol but it has been more country type areas. As soon as my parts arrive, I'll be doing a video on a DIY car kit to to go along with the ARGtek antenna mod. Keep an eye out for it! Happy flying!
Maybe try a script next time? Won't feel so 'strange' talking to yourself. Just a suggestion...also, when are you going to put out another vid? Come on, us subscribers are waiting!! LOL
Good to know what you was saying about the drone and accessories. Thank you so very much. Paul. 🇬🇧
Paul Wrest glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching!

Did you end up putting hot glue on the argteck upgrade base like on the original
Anthony urrutia thank you for watching! Yes I did use the hot glue also.....seems to work great!
Did you say you use two screws as opposed to four screws .four will give you more strength the screws from the kit are longer make sure you put the long screws four in each guard
It looks like the guards wobble too much that will make your blade hit the guard use four long screws good luck Steve " happy flying"
Enterprise Galileo ll thanks for watching! When I watched it I realized I wasn't very clear on that too, I used the four screws provided with the guards. I still haven't had the confidence to use them flying yet...
best thing to do is just by DJI made stuff
