Just accept it, some British guys don't behave well after drinking beer. They are always one fight or argue involving British tourist mainly in Thailand.
I’ve lived in Thailand 25 years. Sure some Brits get too drunk and get into fights but on the whole there are less of this situations than you find in Spain etc. And it’s not uniquely Brits it’s pretty evenly matched by young lads of every nationality in Thailand these days it’s actually mostly Indians and Russians.
I live in southern Spain and I am really sad to say that the Brits abroad are extremely unruly and we British locals are so ashamed. Not only the young single people. Even some young family parents are disgusting. We have even seen older people on golfing trips acting ignorantly and entitled. So sad and I don’t condemn the locals for demonstrating
The locals aren't saying this at all, that's why they don't speak to protesters, they are protesting against the government, that's from the protesters mouths
It’s symptomatic of what we’re ALL facing but they’re choosing to direct their anger at US instead of their governments and mass legal and illegal immigration from elsewhere.
Pure, unadulterated greed is destroying Spanish resorts. So many were once places of outstanding natural beauty, but this has been destroyed by vastly excessive tourist development. A wise nation would have settled for far less tourism, with a better quality of tourist paying a higher price for a holiday worth taking.
Spain. Over 50’s years of mass tourism & this is the tipping point. Other countries should take note of this, they themselves may see similar scenarios in the coming decades.
The main problem for the Spanish islands id that because of foreigners buying up property there, the house prices have now gone above what the average spanish worker can afford considering what they are able to earn. This is driving many of the locals out of the property market and the areas the workers need to live in. Much the same has happened here in Cornwall for example. The protests are mainly to do with the way their government has handled this situation and not that they want to block british tourists from going there. This is just the perception that our mainstream media is pushing. You have to ask yourself why? What is the real reason that we, the British, being persuaded (lied to) into staying away!
As a Devon resident I know just how people feel in Magaluf. Our beaches, once beautiful, get spoiled by too many people who leave rubbish and filth behind. Any money they spend doesn't seem to help local people.
Seems like massive price hikes coming. Etias and tourist taxes coming. We mainly live on an island in the canaries. Protesters are more concerned about the governments not investing in the community with things like social housing etc.
As a Scottish person, I have never felt unwelcome anywhere in Europe, including Spain and The Canaries. I did however feel like an alien in London, go figure.
I was in Lanzarote when these protests first started. Speaking to the holiday rep who had been a resident for 12 years, she said there is a lot of rubbish being thrown about by the UK media. The problem is the rise of air BnB’s, companies buying property to rent making it impossible for locals and migrant workers to get accommodation due to being priced out of the market. Sound familiar? The Lake district, Yorkshire dales/coast, Devon and Cornwall and many more have the same problem.

Most of the protests in the "Canaries Islands" are about is the lack of affordable rental properties for locals. This is because the local authorities have issued to many licences to convert residential properties into Air B&B's leaving next to nothing for the locals to live in. A bit of research will reveal that most of the protests are towards the local government and the unfair housing availability for locals. It has got nothing to do with particularly British people as the problem. Some ex pats have posted some TH-cam videos confirming this.

Surely being so rude & obnoxious is not British culture!!!
I live in the South of England, I feel like an alien in London too lol. Its like a different universe
I don’t blame those protesting against brit tourists. Why can’t we behave when we visit spain especially.
