HBs are great. I have a "Red Special" from HB as well as a J45. And this DC Custom Cherry is about to arrive next week. I bought a B-Stock option as their B-Stocks are totally good! Totally awesome guitars. If you bought it from Thomann (mega German music warehouse) HB is their brand. It is hard to go wrong with them. And their customer service is possibly the best of any online warehouse I know.
That’s an excellent question! Yes they did. I think it might help if the headstock had a little more of an angle to it. One of those retaining bars might help too. It doesn’t seem to affect the playability at all. So I’m not too worried about it just yet.
I have a Epiphone Les Paul muse. I like it but it does get out of tune but not far off. It was $550. I was thinking about going ahead and getting a Gibson SG and was wondering if you think it would be worth the money. Is the Gibson that much better than the Epiphone?
That’s a good question. Unfortunately I’m not too familiar with the higher-end Gibson guitars. Seems like it’s getting harder and harder to find stores that stock more expensive gear so you can try before you buy. I’m lucky to live fairly close to Sweetwater. Next time I buy a guitar, it will be from them , and I’m planning on paying extra for them to set it up.
@@ccavera thanks. I’ve played for years but just around the house and never thought it would be worth the money for a high end guitar. Coming up on 60 years old so was thinking of treating myself before my old fingers play out on me.
Yeah a little. I think it might be due to the placement of the strap locks. But it’s minor enough that my thicker strap provides enough friction to negate the dive.
The addition of (heavyweight) Grover tuners doesn't help with the SG's inherent neck dive, so I changed mine to Wilkinson Kluson style tuners. This might seem a little counter intuitive, but the lighter Wilkinson tuners reduced somewhat the dreaded 'neck dive'. The fingerboard on mine was screaming out for a drink, so I liberally applied some Dunlop lemon oil, and she was a lot happier. If this guitar was a standard 22 fret neck it would be a whole lot better.
I think every cheap guitar I have owned the locking nut on the jack has come loose within days . Don’t understand why no one in these factories seems to be able to tighten a nut . It’s a small issue in the general scheme of things but does bug me .
Welcome back. You should tune it down to C# and play some Sabbath on it.
Finally, a video of this guitar where you can hear the amp noise
Thanks for watching!

Did the original strings pop out of the nut also?
