    Great video Mikey. Started to use wacky rig a little on the small lakes in our area and lately even on the Harris Chain when the fish are finicky. Always have a couple spinning rods rigged up on the deck now, weightless and weighted. Amazing the cover you can get these fish out of on the light tackle. Using this system more and more.

    As someone who doesn't have a boat and fishes the crap out of boat docks and ramps and so forth- I sincerely want to thank you guys for releasing fish at the ramp. Many bank anglers seem to overlook release fish- but I've had many days where they saved me from skunking. And usually- they're larger fish because guys don't keep the small ones until they get back to the ramp- they only keep the nice ones. Every time I go with my brother- who does have a nice bass boat with all the bells and whistles- he gets aggravated because I make him stay at the ramp for a few minutes and let me see if I can catch a couple. But like I said, I've had many days where that was all I caught so I hate to pass it up. Last time i was on Pickwick we spent all day fishing, couldn't catch anything over a pound or so- the boat tears up and we get towed to a ramp downstream and my brother catches a ride from someone to go get his truck- while he was gone, I landed a five-pound smallie off the ramp.

    Dude those hook.ups were sweet! And the 1/16 was considered the hvy gear up north as well as weightless being the preferred shallower merhod..but with trick worms in Brite colors and good Ole straight black. And tail weighted finesse worm thrown around docks and skipped around wood. Awsome day catching those spots! Lil butter ballz!🎣👊

    Question,
    I live on lake lanier but I never seem to catch much. It seems like in my part of the lake (northwest side) the bass are heavily heavily pressured. Not even my favorites the neko or ned work. I tried the wacky with your tips and I am sad to say that I didnt get bites. I would like to get some personalized advice.

    • @mikeybalzz
      @mikeybalzz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i really don't fish the lake that often but here's what i would recommend. go to hammonds fishing center and talk to the guys there or ask f for tim. he's a straight up good dude and a hammer out there. he'll tell you what you need and get you pointed in the right direction.

    Bogs stole the show. My side wacky tip. When up shallow near cover remember Power Pole up before going to the back to land a big fish. If not you provide the perfect break off spot like I did.Then you weigh in 8lbs instead of 12.

    Really good vid, but I think the terminology used is confusing .
    To me a true "Wacky Rig" is an unweighted stick bait (Senko type) hooked in the middle either directly through the bait or under a standard o-ring or the newer o-rings that turn the hook "sideways" as he calls it. Has that natural slow horizontal shimmying wiggle on the fall that is so enticing to bass. If a weight is added for faster fall it would be in the center such as a small wacky jig head. I always use a weedless hook, because if you don't, you're not throwing it where many fish live
    Putting a nail eight in the end I would consider more of a Neko Rig and totally different fall and action..
