    Thank you..but a little grease or gearbox oil should have been put on all the moving parts to work more efficiently and extend their life.

    Legend! Thank you for posting this, very well laid out making it easy to follow. Quite a fidgety job, but 4hrs and $50 later passenger window is good as new!

      So happy to hear it's helped you out! Yep it's fiddly but better than spending a few hundred on a whole new mechanism isn't it!?

    Hi, great video, very helpful. I just replaced one myself last week but had to redo it. I think it was too tight. I was looking at your video and saw the white plastic part that holds tension on the spring has a clip on it. Did you release the clip to free the spring? I think this was my problem. Wasn't sure if the clip was just to keep the spring compressed for installation or should it be left clipped. I released it and the regulator seemed smoother. I couldn't see from the video if you released it or not.

      @ianpgonzaga  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can see around 12:20 the assembly of the central bit. I don't remember releasing the clip at all on the replacement piece. Just left it as it should be as that's how it was on the broken one.

    • @nashtuck
      @nashtuck ปีที่แล้ว

      If you look at around the 7:02 mark, it looks like that clip isn't on the old piece.
      Anyway, a week after my passenger side one broke, the drivers side also went 🙄. I'm going to see what that one looks like when I open the door up. At least I'm getting plenty of practice

    Hi Ian, I recently discovered that my OEM front and rear Parking Sensors no longer work (don't ask me how I found out). I bel the warning sound was broadcast from the original Navi headunit. Do you know if I can get them to work again now that I'm using a top line Pioneer navigation (I retained the Bose speakers and amp)? Thank you for your continuing Audi insights.

    • @ianpgonzaga
      @ianpgonzaga  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Drew. Sounds like a fuse has gone. The sound isn't dependant on the Head Unit as I'm running an aftermarket Alp me and I still get the bleeping. The beep comes from a little speaker. The front one is mounted behind the instrument cluster. The rear one is mounted in the rear right door trim above the speaker.
      Might wanna check those after the fuses ☺️
