Great video. I guess it's about time for me to visit the Musgrave website again and these will definitely go into my order. A 4B round pencil made of cedar is an absolute treat.
I really appreciate your videos!! You have very nice reviews that go in detail about the "feel" of the pencils while being straight to the point (pun intended)!! Thanks for making these simple and enjoyable reviews for a product that is often overlooked by most people 💜💖💜
Another Musgrave I'd never heard of, much less tried. I like the aesthetics of this one, as well as the dark line. Musgrave continues to impress. Thanks for sharing these, Kevin!
Does the name Songwriter have an actual purpose, or is it purely for flair? The Test Scoring speaks for itself and the News 600 is good for newsprint, so does the nomenclature logic still hold true? Anyway, nice pencil, with a wholly inadequate eraser. It'd be acceptable for an HB trace, but _not_ this trail of tar that even a top-tier eraser like the Arch struggles with.
Hi DFT - seems composers (when music was composed using handwritten notes on music sheets) liked to use softer, bolder pencils. I've seen photos of a couple of popular mid-20th century American composers and arrangers using what looks to be old Blackwing and other dark marking pencils. I'm guessing this was the inspiration for the naming of the pencil, but I don't know that for certain. The marks of a pencil like this is almost permanent. Thanks!
. meanwhile , general's semi hex 498 pencil has been down graded once more , now box sez : partialy made in usa , even the box looks like its been re-designed on Windows 95 😑
I always love watching your videos and learning about new types of specialized pencils. Thank you.
My pleasure, ronciego! Thank you for watching!

Hi ArthropodSpidey - hope you give these a try! Thanks!

Hi MAMO - you'd love the lushness of these pencils. Thanks!
Great Christmas gift. Just ordered for stocking stuffers for the musicians and artists in family🎶🎨
Hi Elaine!! They will love these pencils - and the box will fit perfectly into a Christmas stocking!
*Would be very interested in a video of your pencil accumulation.*
Hi raccoon - I'll have to do that one of these days. Thanks!
Came for the Underwood Master overview, stayed for the pencils...
Hi Carol - thanks for sticking around for the pencil reviews!
That's a pretty pencil. Thanks for the vid!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching, Laura!
I'd pay good money for the News 600 and the Songwriter with a Hackwing mod.
Hi Louie - this pencil feels a bit like the Blackwing matte. Thanks!

Very nice. You don't see many 4B pencils with an attached eraser.
Hi asfasfd - now that you mention it, I think this might be the only 4B pencil I've seen with an attached eraser. Thanks!
Quiet Songwriter - paradoxical. 🇦🇺
Hi MillAppartments - it is indeed! Thanks for watching!
Love the darkness and smoothness but wish it weren't a vanilla barrel. Same for the Test Scoring--great graphite, but gosh, what an ugly duckling...
I don't Musgrave has another pencil in this color, so that may be a reason it was chosen. Thanks!

Hi Hugo - that's sad!
