yes, but I think, he has a good chance of being nominated again[for the Oscar] and winning this time. for the role, and, because "he's due". it works out that way, often, like it or not.
@@InfiniteElectrophone I worked at the front desk at a decent, corporate hotel in San Francisco around '99 and actually checked Dafoe into the hotel (I was already a big fan, but maintained my composure though I was admittedly very impressed by him) ... He arrived with hair and departed a week later bald (Shadow of the Vampire, no doubt). My experience with Dafoe and all reports from coworkers were very positive. He seems like he appears in this interview: thoughtful, considerate, and solid. And for me, I think he's an actor whose work never disappoints, and The Florida Project is one of my most recent, favorite films.
I was lucky enough to see Willem Dafoe in an off Broadway play in 2009. He had riveting stage presence, moved beautifully and has the most stunning, huge, bright blue eyes that are like laser beams. He's a very attractive man and always seems to be grounded, humble and a class act.
@Dana Chapin also a good fit but he still looks more like Joker. I'd actually prefer they cast Leto as The Riddler, that would probably have turned out better (in a different movie, obviously)
He would’ve made a good Rorschach. I could also see Willem Dafoe playing a Dirty Harry/John McClane type of role. (He could’ve played Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi too!)
when i see r hear of a movie with Defoe in it...i wanna see the movie he is a great actor and i've yet to be disappointed after viewing one of his movies.....a great entertainer to say the least
Willem Dafoe will always be The Green Goblin to me. "I could squash you like a bug right now" Its crazy how the Green Goblin and Spiderman rooftop scene is so similar to the scene in Dark Knight with the Joker and Batman interrogation scene.
I would not mind the interrupting, if, it were more of a conversation; King just asks robotic questions, that have no organic connection to one another, or to a person's humanity.
Hes a legend of all the nominees he deserve it the most.Been to 100 movies as soldier, dracula, painter, hotel manager what else he needs to prove... (Eternity Gate)
In the original Murder On The Orient Express, Poirot was played by Albert Finney not Peter Ustinov. Ustinov did play Poirot in several other films though-easy mistake.
Willem Dafoe plays a great villain. He did great in John wick. Nice work in the movie SPEED(Bad Guy) I saw it when it came out- Question what number movie was that for Willem?
Underrated actor, I've never watched him in a role that wasn't convincing. Also, it's kinda funny how they avoided speaking about Death Note. Probably for the best, lol.
@@MsTriangle no, I dont really play video games. But in terms of live action movie, he is too old because the joker is a psychologically demanding role and it is certainly not a healthy role for someone of Dafoe's age.
@@abbeyBominable123 psychologically I don't see it as a problem, more so physically. I think he's in great shape and still capable to play that part. He should have been cast a long time ago. Such an obvious choice for that part.
One of the most underrated actors in hollywood.
and seems like a great guy.
It's a shame he still has never been casted as The Joker
@Jason Fraser Are u kidding? He'll be in full blown makeup. Patrick Wilson was Owlman in Watchmen, and now he's Ocean Master

He radiates warmth and kindness.
He''d make a great dinner party guest.

Willem Dafoe is an actor who makes every film he's in better. Even if the film is bad Dafoe is always one of the best parts.
Damn near 70 and that hair still on point.
He's been blessed with good genes!
Clean eating! Vegan☀️🌸🦋
Every single time I hear that voice. I turn into a 5 year old when remembering when I first watch spiderman.
This video and me, we're gonna have a hell of a time
Damn...you were five years old? I feel old...
@@h.l.malazan5782 lol yeup
He has such a soothing voice
It's an absolute pleasure to hear this man talk. Love his voice.
Would be a fantastic joker he's perfect for the role
agreed
he has it all: the look, the voice...
@Dana Chapin also a good fit but he still looks more like Joker. I'd actually prefer they cast Leto as The Riddler, that would probably have turned out better (in a different movie, obviously)

15:30 Did he just turned into the Green Goblin? The tone changed and the look and grin.
Raising Harry
So underrated. He made Platoon such a great movie playing Sgt. Elias.
One of the greatest voices ever
Great guy great actor
Yes. Willem Dafoe is a class act. Glad to see this interview pop up, saving this to watch later.
Living legend
Loved him in John Wick!
Was he in John Wick?
Red Sonja yeah in the first one
2 legends, rest easy Larry, & live forever Willem
11:20 Aquaman part
Thank you man!

Any movie this guy was ever in was always worth watching at least once
22 July 2020 Happy Birthday Willem Dafoe⚘
Love him.👌😊
Great interview
Mississippi Burning...he was gold in that movie alongside Gene Hackman.
Great actor. Can't wait to see him in Aquaman.
Willem Dafoe will always be The Green Goblin to me. "I could squash you like a bug right now"

Wait a damn second, I didn’t think about that
Way to post an interview more than a year late! Anyway, he is awesome in Aquaman and everything he does.
i know its his style and nothing mean about it but I just cant get used to Larry's manner of questioning where he simply interrupts his guest...
I would not mind the interrupting, if, it were more of a conversation; King just asks robotic questions, that have no organic connection to one another, or to a person's humanity.
exactly, it sounds so rude
It doesnt always seem like he is actually listening to his guest's answers..
I know he's an actor but Willem seems like a genuinely nice guy.
He was great as ryuk, norman osborn and now aquaman.
Handsome
But now he's 63 years old... I still love him...
My grandma/grandmother died in 73 years old/age...so sad about it :")
Mutiara Aqilachandra sorry for your loss

Larry sharp af
I like that Larry spoils "Orient Express" and Dafoe just goes "Yep" and keeps going so as not to draw attention to it.
I love the hunter

Bobby Peru !!!
God speed Spiderman!!!
Who the hell thumbed down Willem Dafoe?!
Back to Formula?
Not mentoning him in Beyond Two Souls? Dissapointed. He is criminally underrated. I love William so much!
He would make a very convincing Dr. Oz 😂😂😂
As big a sports fan as Larry King is I'm surprised he didn't ask Dafoe about being at the Ice Bowl as a kid
Best performance was boondock saints (to me)
Lighthouse is absolutely epic. Platoon, epic. American Psycho, epic.
I really love Willem Dafoe as an actor. However, I really wish that he played more good guys in movies.
See him in the recent Van Gogh film if you haven't already.
I like to whistle, too
I ve never thought he is such a cute guy. Here you are , the film directors, make from cute , kind person a rascal
Underrated actor, I've never watched him in a role that wasn't convincing. Also, it's kinda funny how they avoided speaking about Death Note. Probably for the best, lol.
The Florida Project is one of the best US films in the last decade...
Ashley Glabek is the Sister of Mateusz Glabek
Shadow of the vampire
Antichrist
Platoon
American psycho
The Florida project
Best performances
I expected this to just be half an hour of them growling and hissing at each other...
I think in terms of America...I just heard the Green Goblin say “with Great power comes great responsibility” lol
To Live and Die in L.A.!
Isn't he something of a scientist himself?
Willem Dafoe is a legend?
Yes he is
YoU kNoW iM sOmEtHiNg Of A sCiEnTiSt MySeLf (love willem dafoe btw dont hate)
Love him. Great actor but getting weird lately with his movies
DC is stupid, rather than cast Defoe as the Joker, they cast him in Aquaman. Screw DC. You should have just stuck with comics and animations.
Nah. He's too old.
