Fun fact: The game has rare commands system, meaning that some "Command Board" only attacks can be obtained by chance while melding certain recipes, also, there's a chart to predict which Ability you will get if meld 2 commands and a crystal, it helped me a LOT to not get the same abilities i already maxed
Tip for Vanitas Remnant easy win: Go behind a large mountain when you start the battle (the one on distance when you look behind), then wait his clones attacks, all you need to do now is keep Strike Raiding while keep re-locking on him
The Ice Cream Unversed can give you a TON of ingredients if you use Graviga, FR, A LOT
Breaking Jars minigame is STUPID with, again, Graviga command
Achieved the Platinum for Birth By Sleep 8 back in 2016 on my birthday. The Mysterious Figure fight with Terra is pure hell.
Huh you’re right Terra did save 100 acorn Woods…before Sora did. Which would help him out in his development in the future. What don’t people talk about this. Wow Terra you deserve more recognition in this fandom. I apologize, I wasn’t familiar with your game. Even with all the manipulation you suffered. Which to be fair, you only gave into two manipulators. The rest you actually resist and turn the tides on. And beating up your crazy Dad. Who WAS literally about to KILL your younger brother, so technically it was self defense. Meaning you’re in the right.

For getting 100%, I congratulate and welcome you to the extremely small percentage of people who actually had the fortitude to obtain this god forsaken platinum. I remember doing this back in high school when the PS4 version released. That’s right: no booze, no weed. Just me, some podcasts, and way too much free time. The Command Board can kiss my ass. Why Terra doesn’t have I-frames in his dodge is beyond me. If I have to hear the Mickey Mouse March one more god damn time, I think I’m gonna burst a blood vessel.
In fact, not only did I get the platinum in BBS; this was the 4th playthrough in a MARATHON of playthroughs to get the platinum in KH 1, 2, and Re:CoM. The Re:CoM platinum SUCKS. But I did it, along with DDD, KH3, and MoM. Hell, I even got all the trophies in 0.2, and you don’t even get a platinum for that one.
But was it all worth it? Honestly, I can’t say. I think I’m too far down this rabbit hole to make sense of it all.
But yeah, congrats on getting 100%! 🎉

As someone who platinumed Kh1, Re CoM,KH2,Dream Drop Distance and KH3 I know how much of a chore it is to platinum a kingdom hearts game. I'm still working on birth by sleep.
I got platinum in KH3 and BBS. BBS is SO much worse!
Thing is I never platinumed the PS3 version of KH2 for 2 reasons
1. I couldn't beat Roxas on critical
2. My PS3 died on me.
The BBS mini games completely broke me and the looping music in Disney town. It took me longer to beat the rhythm game then it did for me to beat the game on critical 😵

I still can't win Ice Cream Beat. There was one point I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to finish Ventus's main story because of that mini game.

I love the melting system, if you are patient, you will be able to get thunder surge before the first boss. Also use dashing moves Disney Town to skip the need of glide which will reward you with super glide before glide
True, but I hate 100%ing the melding system. I cannot tell you how many times I finally finished upgrading some command so I could meld it, just for it to turn into something else I already had and force me to do it again.
@@makaiwise4609 my tip with that (assuming the problem is to farm all over again) is to save up before making them it's not the best thing but better than doing the whole process again
I’m currently doing the bbs platinum now, I found a spreadsheet on reddit that has a full checklist for everything needed for platinum and how to get it, for every character. My Ven save has 40 hours to unlock everything, bar secret bosses (before I found the checklist) and my Aqua and Terra have 10 hours each to unlock everything shaving off 60 hours all up is a massive win, That checklist is an absolute lifesaver!
Just make sure to grind for mega flare and max out lucky strike and treasure magnet asap and the grind is brainless easy.
Let's not forget the 100 plus years of nonsense that Ventus already went through prior to the events of BBS. Something that he's arguably still going through in this day and age.
BBS is the only platinum for the series I don't have. Wanna know why? mysterious figure. I can handle the command melding, I can put up with ice cream mini games... but when a boss is terribly designed, I have no desire at that point to show my dedication and appreciation for BBS just to unlock a PNG image that proves that I conquered birth by sleeps most BS boss.
To be fair he's really not that bad with thunder surge and curaga spam... unless you're using Terra... Terra has such little i-frames...
It almost ended my platinum run, I think if you back and try again you’ll get it, just play in short spurts
I just platinumed BBS for the second time, the first time it took me days to do it with Terra, this time only a couple tries, wasn't even 99
And If you just want to get it out of the way just do a beginner run and kill it in that file

I was going for the Platinum a few years back and I had finally finished all of fruitball on Aqua, I was so happy that I finally did it.
Then the power went out.
Had to cool off for a few months after that. Always remember to save often.
As someone who’s 100% every kingdom hearts game on Xbox. I can assure you BBS is by far the hardest.
My god in heaven the mysterious figure fight with terra is one of the hardest battles I’ve ever done in gaming, ridiculously unfair fight in general but with terra who is so slow its nigh on impossible. Took me 10+ hours and probably triple figure attempts to beat him. I finally beat him at like 5am in the morning and fell to my knees and almost wept.
The good news was I played terra first so by the time I fought him again with Ventus and aqua I knew him so well and they’re so much faster that it only took me a couple tries with each to beat him. RECOM isn’t necessarily that hard it’s just so long and tedious.
Bad news is I switched over to PlayStation recently and I’ve begun to redo the games on PlayStation and get the platinums, finished KH1 and currently midway through RECOM, really not looking forward to BBS again. I’m just clinging on the hope that older me is somehow better at gaming so will find mysterious figure easier 🤣😭

A tip from my own ongoing Platinum journey for this game: Only complete the story itself on Critical. I know it'll take a bit longer, but you'll save yourself a lot of grief and frustration going back from the start on Beginner. Especially concerning the Superbosses where you'll have more health. It's not much of an advantage, but every one counts.

This is def my most hated Kingdom Hearts Platinum. And for really only one reason. Oh no not just cause it's wanting you to do all of this 3 separate times. My crazy mind was like ok. Let's platinum ALL of the games........on critical mode. Having to do this 3 separate times on critical is just insane. The only platinum I don't have is kh3. Because I wanted to wait until critical mode came out. I've still not gotten it yet because of that. Lol Looking forward to more Platinum videos!
I started on BBS platinum a few months ago and I just had to put it down, it is so stressful and annoying. I will return to it someday and when I do, I will finally be victorious of this game. Congrats on getting bro!!

I got the platinum for BBS……for both versions. It was so painful.
But regarding those 4 chests in the Land of Departure as Terra: well, you actually could’ve returned to the LoD earlier in the game before fighting Eraqus to open the chests, as after you beat Eraqus is when the MF spawns (if I’m not mistaken).
Also yeah most of the mini games in this game can kick rocks.
I've been running through this series again and I naturally got the closest in BbS (just minus the last three. You know the ones). Remnant Vanitas is actually the easiest because you can cheese him.
3D was the first I got to plat, plus got all in game trophies. Will soon be getting the KH3 plat! Then I'll go back and get the rest of the plats. Or as many of them as I care to get. May or not get BbS, but the completionist in me would hate to have only one not completed.
Just a quick tip for anyone wanting to clear the Monster of the Sea arena mission really quick, after you stun Monstro and get on his tongue, use a Magnega command first. After that, two to three Mine Squares/Seeker Mines is enough to finish him off in about 37-45 seconds
Also don't take the joke (him retelling the story) seriously, Maleficent uses Terra's darkness, Terra then uses the evil Queen and he never really trusted Hades.
Mickey was told to not save Aqua by Yen Sid, getting in was also hard to begin with, only after Riku became a master Yen sid allowed Mickey to save Aqua.
Some jokes sadly, after you hear them a hundred times, are just not funny anymore.

7:45 I absolutely LOVE the Command Board. I have spent hours playing that mode just for fun.
Fun fact there's actually a spin-off of the command board I think it's called sugaroku that was included in samurai warriors 2 as well I know it's off topic in your Kingdom hearts TH-camr but if you're ever bored and you have a way to look at it through emulation or whatnot it's really fun so many lost hours I could have been focusing on level 4 weapons

Wow dude Literally uploaded this as I nabbed that 45th Achievement for BBS on steam. I did Aqua, then Terra, and then Ventus to make it feel like it went faster than it actually did lol
I did terra, ven then aqua, as terra leaves first, even chases terra to tell him something and aqua is tasked to bring them home

To make getting the Ice Cream Ingredients Easier, load up the command deck with Magnet and Thunder magic. The magnet magic will hold them in place while you repeatedly blast them with thunder magic.
I´m trying to get all achievments on steam in every KH game and boy oh boy it´s Hard man, I feel you.
On steam Final Mix 1, 2, Rechain and birth by Sleep are all the same game, so you just get one "platinum". That for some reason grinds my gears way more than it should.

Every playthrough I do of BBS I play command board probably 50 times per character. Not because I'm bad and keep failing(I'm actually pretty good at it) but it's the fastest way to grind commands. It's incredibly satisfying.
Those command boards pissed me off, I also accidentally closed my app without saving and lost around 3-4 hours on the boardgame progress

I believe the reason ice cream beats timings seem so off is because the PSP version was capped at 30fps whereas the HD versions run at 60 so the gameplay is seemingly faster but the song itself is the same speed

I got the Platinum on BBS in February and it is by far the most difficult. And you know, I’M GONNA DO IT AGAIN!
(Mostly because I hate that I’ve had 58% on the PS3 version for about a decade now. Also I really enjoyed playing it.)
I am not sure if anyone said this about Remnant Vanitus...but um...you can cheese that boss fight easily by rushing over tot hat mountain shape area. Have Vanitus on one side, and you on the other side- trapping him in that small little opening of the mountain. Equip Strike raid style keyblades and go to town and watch his AI brake easily and unable to do anything about it or even teleporting to you, because he can't get by the mountain.
Granted, do strike raid commands in short bursts and not rapidly, or else Vanitus WILL teleport to you. Even Terra will have an easy time, because of his dash distance makes it easier to cheese Vanitus. Figure to let ya know, but not sure if someone has already said this or not.
As someone who's gotten the Plats for these games, every time I hear that Re:com is one of the worst, I just have to ask "wut"? It's incredibly tedious, for sure, but it ain't difficult. If you know what you're doing in that game, it's actually one of the easier plats I've gotten in the Kingdom Hearts games. BBS is by far the WORST! PLAT! in these games. You have 3 characters, with each of them needing to do EVERYTHING that the other 2 did. I'm just thankful that this was one of the games that didn't require you to get all 3 characters to lvl 99 for trophies, otherwise I would have gone even more insane than I did already.
The command board is the best side game in all of Kingdom Hearts!! I've always spent too much time playing it over my playthroughs

The only KH game I've not platinumed was Melody of Memory. Definitely not an easy ride lol but worth every minute. Love this series too much!
I actually loved playing the command board, maybe a little too much. I had to have played each board a hundred times or so because I just found it a fun way to get more commands for fusion fodder.
About 2 years ago I sat down to collect every single PS4 platinum trophy for the Kingdom Hearts series as well. I only had the ones for KH3 and Melody of Memory because I just wasn't that interested in doing all this work when the HD collections where released on the PS4 back then.
I was super happy when I finally had them all, but a small part in my brain wants to get the platinum trophies for the PS3 versions as well. And I don't know where that part of the brain is because I'd like to cut it out, but maybe someday I'll sit down and do it. The only upside is that I wouldn't have to do DDD again, that game was very annoying to complete.
Your abridged summary of BBS will live in my mind rent free from now on.
I feel your pain having to fight the Mysterious Figure twice as Terra. That is no fun. I loved this video got a lot of laughs at your summarizing of the events of each character making their tragic tales humorous. Thank you for this. And congratulations on finally getting trophy. I myself just got it this weekend after defeating the Mysterious Figure with each character and I was so happy.
Maybe I'm among the few but I had a lot of fun with this trophy. ReCom is my least favorite right now. I love Birth By Sleep it is one of my favorite games in the series. Doing everything 3 times was annoying but on my PSP I never 100% my save file so I enjoyed discovering everything I missed out on. There were some painful stuff to do. And Mini Games were not the best, Ice Cream Beat kept me back from my plat for a long time. Out of the KH games though I don't think it has the worst mini-games. The secrets bosses doing them three times was a pain but once I got the rhythm it was managable. Even the Mysterious Figure granted I beat him on Standard but I think I could do it on my critical file if I wanted to. Not really interested at the moment but still I did most things again on the critical file.
My best advice for anyone attempting the plat take your time and pace yourself. If you want to do it all at once that's up to you but I tried to take my time with everything and it made the experience more fun.
Hey, you're just like Nicob; he hates fruitball too. He had just as a horrible nightmares about Horus the horse making him play fruitball... you talk about it with him sometimes. i am doing it for a SECOND time on Steam. Ven is 100% done. Aqua is...halfway there. im dreading Terra a bit.
Recently finished Platinum and I must admit that Terra vs MF was a pain.
Here are some of my thoughts:
- I know well that turning some abilities off is more a myth than anything else, but it helped me A LOT to calm down. There are many guides and videos on YT and elsewhere, but most important is, you keep cool and concentrated. Owning him first try is highly unthinkable. You WILL die often, but it should not make you rage quit.
- Alternating Thunder Surge and Cure helped a lot. Rotating the commands with L2 and R2 while Terra is moving, is nearly a must. You have to learn to decide if healing a second time is needed or if you go for an attack by seeing an opening.
- Levelling him to level 75 or 80 was also a very good idea, his levelling spot is by far easier than Ventus' and Aqua's spot.. and maybe it is for that particular reason. The attack points and defense points matter a lot imo
- Maybe you should concentrate on keeping the distance and dashing away when you (try to) hit him once with Thunder Surge. Don't get to greedy. There are times that you may miss him. Than go mid range and show what he is doing next. If you are confident then hit him twice but it is easier to look for the distance.
- When he is invisible then try to dash in a wide circle for avoiding him but don't get stuck in one of the corners. Otherwise it is a nearly insta death.
It was a fight of patience and took longer than most videos I watched on YT, but it's easier to play the defensive way, studying his movements little by little. After one and a half hour with breaks and 10 to 20 attempts I got him. I earned that trophy on Proud Difficulty
Lingering Will on Terra can not justpound sand. It can go pound every grain of sand in the none universe individually. Not afraid to admit the only reason I got it on Critical is because he fucing glitched T pose style SO FUCING SATISFYING after I had ALMOST killed him 6 times, this took me several of tries.
realising that my hacking BBS on PSP fucked my Jiminy's journal (right at the end, I swear, I was over the whole...everything) was heartbreaking and I've yet to go back. One day though...
Remember getting this plat. I just watched atzero plat speedrun and just followed it even though it was my first time ever playing the game took me like 50+hours
Speaking as someone who got this plat took me almost a year, and everything you said is true. I don't have the plat for com or DDD, but they don't seem frustrating, just time-consuming
i like the idea of a KH tactics game. i would love to see more of those older game genres in kh fashion. imagine a kingdom hearts RTS like Halo Wars lmao

I'm a trophy hunter and have over 100 platinums by this point...The mysterious figure with all three characters was the hardest part from every game I have attempted thus far
You did better than me on platinuming this game. I was lost, and thought I had to do the arena fights a handful of times. Then I did the final game parts twice. Turns out I forgot to do Terra's race and get the keyblade.
Jared, something you should cover that I've never seen anyone talk about, is how there are missable secret missions in KH 358/2 Days. By speaking to the members in the lounge every day they will give you little tasks like "find every chest in mission 12" and if you do that then they will give you a special mission added to saix's list for the day
I think people never talk about it because don't those just get added to the "Holo Missions" after you advance the story to the next set of missions?
I did it that way because the game wanted me to grind Limit Break kills which i was not willing to do so I did the mandatory missions, Advanced, and did the secret ones from the Holo Missions
The Mysterious Figure can actually be nerfed quite a bit by unequipping ALL your abilities. I kid you not. He’s a cakewalk then

I’ve been going through all the KH games for platinum. I beat mysterious figure with Terra. But holy *Quack* the ice cream beat minigame made me give up entirely, it broke me.
I took a break after I beat Vanitas remnant with Aqua and knew in my bones I did not have the stomach to try again with Terra and Ven. That was a few years ago now… I also hate ice cream beat with a burning passion.
If only the ‘7 command board wins’ was the issue… the reason that monogamy is so hated is because monstro didn’t exist in the psp version of the game so the best method for grinding medals was to do the command board hundreds of times or deliberately drag out the secret board until you got to 30-40k(I don’t remember the exact number) points in order to ensure you got the max. 999 medals per run….

10:34 so I'm gonna be honest, these command board skills/shotlocks are actually pretty decent, ragnarock basically being ventus' equivalent of prism rain.
Legendary to accomplish this grind. I can't bring myself to do the Re:Chain grind, mostly because those 100 Acre Wood minigames are just the worst. Collect every card? Cool. Reach lvl99? Alright. Accomplish specific scores in those minigames...? Dealbreaker, I am just not good enough.
Very funny that this has popped up on my page when I'm currently 100%ing BBS for my "100% all KH games so you can flex them on your Steam profile" journey...
The Dream Eater music is the exact reason I still to the day cannot finish DDD. That song makes so irrationally angry and I don’t know why.

Imo the most painful/annoying 100% trophy to get is actually in the original version of Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS because you need two 3DS to get the Frequent Friend trophy
Ironically back when kingdom hearts came to steam I decided to 100% each game in chronological order. And started with bbs and am currently with rechain
I don't know about others but I collected all the chests in the land of departure early on my belief is getting all the chests as soon as you can complaining any optional thing you can as long as you're within the level range or don't need a specific ability to get an item or chest. So I made sure to get all the items before getting to the end game
As a person who got 100% achievements on all Kingdom Hearts games on Xbox, it was a painful but satisfying journey
And now I can rest until KH4 😌

Funny enough, I recently got platinum in this game, it is my favorite kh so it's the only one I've decided to get the trophy on for now. The boss fights with Terra were definitely a challenge tho.
Mysterious figure drank 5, 5 hour energy and had unlocked the forbidden hour and used that power to solely focus you down
Soon the deleted save that has haunted him for so long will finally be able to rest in peace, it's legacy carried on by the next save, which shall fulfill what it could not. A solute in memory of the old save, and in honor of the future new one. o7
Terra doesn't just have the worst dodge, he has the worst basically everything. Since KH is such an elaborate puzzle of story, I assume this is intentional because Terra is the "weakest" of the three in terms of being turned to evil. Since the game is generally best played Ventus-Aqua-Terra it might also be that they're meant to be easy-medium-hard.
I've platinumed all KH games except for KH3 and MoM, but to be honest, I found pretty funny to get the BBS platinum trophy, except for beating Mysterious Figure, that's just a nightmare ngl.
I've been making my way through BBS and doing everything days ago too, and yeah it's a STRUGGLE AND A HALF lol

Birth By Sleep didn't bother me much to Platinum this year. Because I had already done FFVII: Rebirth. Perspective is a hell of a thing, and NOTHING in the entire Kingdom Hearts series (which I played through in entirety this year) can compare to the pain of Platting that sucker.

While the dash from Terra only has about 3 frames of invincibility it makes you aware of his fight style which is high risk high reward due to his strength stat.
Aqua and especially Ventus have invincibility frames for most of the duration of their dodges which is kinda busted since you could mindlessly spam dodge roll or cartwheel until you have a chance to damage the opponent which takes most of the fight's enjoyment.
I love command board. It would be great to see it return in KH4. Now I gotta check out Fortune Street Final Fantasy 👀

It’s baffling they didn’t change the trophies to be less ridiculous like they did with Final Mix only needing 30(?) Gummi Ship Blueprints on PS4 vs All on PS3. I still have that one to do on PS3.
