"I'm SORRY" - Piers Morgan EXTRACTS Apology From Kwasi Kwarteng For Breaking Economy Under Liz Truss

- The former chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng finally apologised for his economic misjudgements on tonight’s Piers Morgan Uncensored.
In a 24-minute interview, award-winning TalkTV host Piers Morgan repeatedly asked why the politician, who lost his job after just 38 days in office, was unwilling to say sorry to the British people.
During a fiery exchange - in which Piers alluded to Frost v Nixon - the pair clashed time and time again with the shortest-serving living Chancellor saying: “I’m not going to come here, wear a hair shirt and apologise and say sorry.”
Piers responded: “Why not?” Kwarteng replied: “I want to look forward. I don’t want to look back.”
At one point Piers asked the former MP over 20 times if he was sorry, and pressed him on why the words were so difficult to find. Watch to find out what happened next.

Was Kwasi Kwarteng right to apologise?
Piers should not have said they lost their minds. They were trying to cut taxes, in a time of massively high taxation. They didn't do anything wrong. The people who stopped them are the ones to be angry with.
@@benfroughi lol she plunged the UK to the brink of recession in just one month when she was in power
Damn right
Pulling the apology out is useless.
He’s making a good point and showing evryone how sad these bureaucrats are and lifeless. A lot of people were here and this man had to take that long to realize he was actually sorry for destroying families
19:16 The irony of Piers saying "I've not tried to drag that out of you", having just spent the entire interview getting him to do just that.
Exactly what I thought.
feels cathartic, politicians always are trying to slip and slide out of responsibility and for once someone holds their feet to the fire and makes them look truly foolish.
Very stupid interview, trying to s or points using this guy chz he knows that majority of uk public are daft, Brexit killed uk and uk will never recover,American owns uk and controles the money market hence why the created panic using the news , to remove lizz cuz her policy in the long term would have been better for the people and worse for them. But now what is happening, the people are getting poorer, we are still borrowing and sending to Ukraine, and the money guys are getting richer
He genuinely can’t hear himself. Utter loudmouth. 😂😂😂
He was SWEATING at that point 🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️
He was backed into a corner and his apology was insincere. He isn't sorry at all. Arrogant man.
Good for him
You can see the contemp on his face at the very idea of apologizing. Is that because his mate made millions of pounds on shorting the sterling.
Kwasi was sweating like he deserved. Good on Piers for pointing out his error in judgement. His apology was not a sincere one. Think he just wanted to get out of studio asap.
How childish refusing to apologise. Wow
Went after an apology for the headline, rather than getting beneath the real issues and conducting an interesting and worthwhile interview.
It was interesting and worthwhile because it exposed the modern conservative mentality
@@deetee4403 sadly it’s true of all politicians… Labour mistakes in Wales and Birmingham, SNP in Scotland, and as Piers introduced the segment Biden, Trump etc. They’re all as bad as each other.
We could have got beneath the real issues if he had just apologised from the start but his stubbornness and ego meant that it took over the entire allocated time for his interview
@@nickzhang1856 maybe but 20 mins of ‘will you say sorry?’ for what was at best a half baked apology?
@@workers4 His arrogance caused his downfall and that same arrogance doesn't allow him to fully accept responsibility. I think we're learning all we can from this man.
Criminals in suits.. Should be locked up
He should apologise for not wanting to apologise
And when he resists that, he should apologise for not wanting to apologise for not wanting to apologise
The sweat on his face 😂 18:50 getting roasted quite literally.
its almost worth the damage his party done just to see him sweat
😂😂😂😂😂😂 fucking sweating
This man was litteraly SWEATING
This is absolutely brilliant and exactly what Kwasi deserves from now until his retirement, his legacy will be forever remembered for one thing and he should never be allowed to forget it
How pathetic and resentful of you. Must feel pretty good to see someone above you fall. It’s a lot easier than making the effort to lift your own self up isn’t it?
Harsh.
@@taras6806 a bit harsh maybe but the situation the country was put in was more harsh
@@januarybaby1063 Yes indeed. Not singularly by him however.
@@taras6806 agreed
Worst kind of people, overnight my mortgage went up £800. Ruined my life and millions more. Sorry isnt enough, sorry isnt enough when Liz Truss takes home £100k a year just for being the worst at her job in history for just 44 days. Embarassing. We're still suffering now
The sweat says it all !
Morgan didn't grill Sadiq Khan like this yesterday. Didn't shout or talk over Khan like this.
Exactly, piers is a sellout.
piers is biased on so many things..... its obvious to the audience when it comes out
What would Sadiq have to apologise for?
Because khan answered every question asked
Because Khan never spoke over him and answered all his questions you mor.on.
Piers had him so tensioned that he was sweating
He should have apologized but the lack of wanting to almost negates it
Holy shit he actually said sorry. Fair play, looked like it hurt him lol politicians are so weird.
Not weird, just shameless.
@@dominiquecharriere1285 but only as a politician which is the weird bit as he apologises in his personal life like almost all the politicians do, but none of them apologise in their political life. Weird.
It’s clearly to pass the buck and allow them to not feel personally responsible for literally ruining people’s life or killing them. I just think it’s weird.
He was my local MP absolutely no understanding of normal hard working people we are just the great unwashed. Completely clueless lacked empathy and couldn’t care less about normal people just another privileged, clueless, self serving career politician.
And he would do it again! If he could. Plus he leaked the info and his mates made money off the run on the pound
He turned up during covid to stand outside of two businesses to announce the reopening of business, without realising they had been open throughout covid coz there were food businesses.
Where was all that relentless grilling last night Piers? Totally inept and weak interview of Khan. Seems to have been intimidated last night. Or maybe this is the start of him lining up behind Labour politicians so that he’s on the right side of a victory.
Exactly 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I think his interview with Rishi Sunak is done in a similar manner to Khan. Sunak is conservative.
Piers is a net zero hipocrit ,just like when he was telling everybody to stay locked behind doors while flying off to Antigua on holiday . Piers is a clown .he thinks he's a good interviewer but he really ain't, he's just a gotcha interviewer
I'm not usually the biggest fan of Piers but I have to give him some credit here for attempting to hold this clown to account. We need fundamental changes to the culture and structure of our political system to force our "representatives" to answer for their decisions.
Clown..he is a highly intelligent man, who only the unintelligent can see him as a clown.
I think this debate would have been better if he challenged the actual policies and tried to understand his reasoning as opposed to just pushing him for an apology. It sounds like a playground fight.
Morgan wastes time getting Kuarteng to grudgingly apologise but the night before didn't ask the Mayor of London one direct question about his ULEZ lies and distortion s. Morgan needs to stop believing the hype about his interviewing skills.
Bravo, Piers. These blithering incompetents should be held accountable and apologize for their idiocy that ruined countless lives
Now get matt Hancock on this show
what's he been up to?
Irony on steroids, Morgan asking someone to apologise for previous working failures.
Pier has apologised for previous actions
@@kurosaki0001000no he hasn’t.
He hasn’t apologised for his role in the phone hacking scandal. The fact he was editor when his paper was found guilty of phone hacking. He hasn’t apologised for lying about faking Iraq war photos. He hasn’t apologised for his constant harassment of public figures when he was editor of the Sun
Does piers run the country 😂
@@donnamacauley4080am also not sure if "I got it wrong" makes up for trying to force people to get a dangerous jab they didn't need either tbh
@@kurosaki0001000 Actually he positively refused to and good for him.
This is like me hitting my brother when I was younger and mum having a go at me and to say sorry but me refusing
Shame Morgan wasn't like that with Khan, it's easy to see where Morgans loyalty lies.
He wasn't so abrasive to khan last night piers sold his sole last night
I don't get it. What have his shoes got to do with it.
@@cestmoi1262wondering the same.
All respect to you Piers. That's what the media is supposed to do. Taking public servants to account.
This is why I cannot stand politicians. They are like Teflon and have no idea or concern about the damage they continue to do to the average person in the uk. He caused so much upset and financial ruin to hundreds of thousands of people and doesn’t even have the common decency to own it and apologise. Horror of a man…
How are you this brainwashed? They didn't even get to IMPLEMENT their plans. The institutions that opposed the measures are responsible for the massive financial shift, in league with the conservative party. They didn't want Truss, they wanted their man, their billionaire insider. And in the second round, Boris and Mordaunt had to PULL out, because the party knew that the MEMBERSHIP wouldn't have voted Sunak thing. They bypassed democracy internally.. the whole thing is a false flag shitshow.
Look forward to you becoming and MP and changing it from the inside then. Or, just carrying on whingeing. I agree with your point about the ruin but for goodnes' sake, if you wish to project a decent point then do so decently.
@@taras6806 such a nonsense thing to say. One can desire change without becoming an MP.
My mortgage went up £350 as a result of this man’s actions. This dancing about on the head of a pin and refusing to apologise just shows how little people like him care about people like me.
He’s a pr1ck
Actually it was likely because of the banks that run London city not wanting a break for working people if it eats in to a little bit of their profit. That’s why they did him, and brought their own guy in, another billionaire. This is the price of attempting to do a solid for working people.
So the world doesn’t have high inflation ? Other countries mortgages also are high
I'm not a fan of Kwasi, he was stitched up and made a scapegoat by his own party. Also, the fact he wanted to cap the banker's bonusses didn't go down well. We live in a world where poor are getting poorer and rich are getting richer. These billionaires are not interested in lower taxes to help people struggling on lower incomes. I'm not a socialist, I believe in a free market, but people in positions of power are doing their best to sabotage this country.
There was inflation 1 year ago and still there is inflation today with it without kwasi or liz or boris! Therefore u would see an increase of ur mortgage anyways! It happened in every country around Europe… my brother lives in Portugal and his mortgage gone higher 330 euros as well
Basically there’s no accountability in the uk government
Not any better in the US
That wasnt an apology, but it was far more satisfying to see him squirm.
yet he barely asked khan one tough question
Cannot go after Islam mate 😂
Yet in Pakistan there tearing down churches
Exactly
@@Scitch-et4vkwhat does Islam have to do with Sadiq khans ulez campaign?
@@SameerAli-zi1mf Nothing. But, it has EVERYTHING to do with Khan as a person. So, we are allowed to critique. Is that ok with you, hun?
This a personal attack, not journalism...savagery.
I think it's hard to discuss the issue fully without any sort of accountability so I actually think piers is right here, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion
Kwasi and Lizz need to be put in prison for treason
Agree
Here certainly why uk will crash cuz the people are daft, the people that voted for Brexit
14:30 when he picked up his daughter late from nursery and apologised, he should have just said he was responsible for being late and left it as that 😀
It this journalism!??
Bro had the nerve to defend himself for 20 mins for almost tanking everyone's retirement.
You had to drag that sorry out of him. I’ve not seen someone sweat buckets like that in ages.
Well done Piers
DAMN that took Kwasi a looooonnnnggggg time to realise he is actually responsible and sorry for the huge financial problem he agreed to participate in and agree with that caused Interest rates to rocket 🚀lost of confidence 🤦🏾♂️
The sweat dripping off him...
Literally making him sweat
16:30 Kwasi sweating. Just say sorry!!!
Piss Organ bullies an apology out of his guest, so he can sleep easy tonight.
If only Piers was like this to the Mayor yesterday. Sadly not
yup entirely biased approach at play
Apologise to care about toxic polluted air?
Ok........
@@morizwan123 air is at our cleanest in over 30 years and whatever ULEZ does will not make an impact. Instead of approving socialism have a look at the data arguing expansion would do nothing and check cost benefit analysis rather than supporting Chairman Khan's false narrative that contains so much misinformation all we're seeing is this is a cash grab.
Agreed ! also I don’t remember piers apologising for his past mistakes.
An insight into the mind of Kwasi Kwarteng contempt for the public, I'm sorry seems to be the hardest word !
The reluctance to say sorry is all Eaton teaches these clowns none of them feel even slightly responsible
Pure narcissism. This guy is incredible.
there is only one way about Accountability - were you responsible or not.
The lack of humility is astounding and the overriding intention to 'protect' your own reputation over the needs of the country is everything that is wrong with the hypocrisy of current politics in Britain. 'Public servants' is the wrong term for politicians nowadays, it should be 'self servants'.
That was painful. Piers Morgan desperate to have his David Frost moment. Bloody hell...
And he got it, to be fair.
@@deetee4403 True enough but it made for a fairly painful twenty minutes of TV.
@@avenginglettuce not really, piers is mostly a p rick interviewer and kwasi is a shtttt politician with inability to take accountability for his actions...see...it is that simple.
Kwasi along with Trussless should be jailed for the economic destruction they caused.
Public Enemy - Can’t Truss It
Anyone that voted for the tories , Boris and Brexit are as bad as they cnuts
This was a masterclass in polite badgering from Piers
More like a 5 year old badgering a parent.
Well done Piers, you made him sweating. Responsible but not Sorry.
For me this was a heavyweight bout of hypocrisy V’s hypocrisy! and hypocrisy won! Two individuals responsible for albeit different actions but both had consequences. Many in positions of power use words and rhetoric in an attempt to dodge the truth. We are surrounded by powerful people who continue to peddle a living at the expense of others whether it be financial or physiological.
The entire interview was a game where pride and self importance appeared more important than the people who were directly affected. This has unfortunately become the norm in a world where the elite are paid huge sums of money but ruin lives along the way.
I’m so ‘glad’ as Piers kept harping on about that Piers and Kwazi feel better about themselves but they both leave a trail of destruction behind them. In my opinion, a very poor display!
Spot on
I would rather have someone say i was accountable and reaponsible for the things that happened than merely say sorry. I personally wouldnt be sorry if i made a decision that i felt was right (albeit with the toxic combination of ego and stupidity) that turned out erroneous in retrospect.
He was quicker on apologise for being few minutes late for his daughter’s nursery than ruining my finances
how hard is it to just hold your head up high and admit, we got it wrong, we are sorry.
After learning about the Laffer curve, I feel sorry for Liz and Kwasi because their plan could have worked out long term
The ladder curve is pretty much bs
Litter was bs
Two words ... "Insider Trading!"
This was a Kwasi... I mean, a *quasi* sincere apology
Excellent pun
Dude, he clearly feels better and he’s a better man for it.
In every political media and marketing office is a picture of Nick Clegg, along with the words, “Lest we never forget.” 😂
That was painful to watch.
Yet….you didn’t even make Khan stutter once. He had not one uncomfortable question.
We got there in the end 😂😂
He wont say sorry. Could he be a narcissist?
worst. interview. 2023.
"are you sorry?"
- "No"
- "Are you sorry now?"
- "No"
- ".......now?"
hopefully saved someone 20 mins.
Piers, are you sorry for wasting 20mins of each TH-cam viewers time with whatever tf this interview was supposed to be about?
my man was sweating his nuts off; poor man.
The worst politician in my lifetime!
One of the funniest interviews ever 😂😂😂😂
Mr. Kwarteng making it clear exactly who and what he is.
He made him sweat badly😂
Pleases 🙏 he is a good man!
Very immature interview from Piers
How so ? These mps need to bloody answer
Thank God, we got there in the end.
he's sweating like fuck lmfao
It's like a pre School child not wanting to say sorry & trying to distract from it by mention Gillian Keegan. The whole government are like that USELESS.
Apologise to ordinary people ? thats disgusting
That's was disgusting Piers.. tough watch!
If kwasi kwarteng is sorry then he can help start playing the money back
I never thought I'd say this, but kudos to Piers!
We have a very high tax on poor people and no tax on millionaires how fair is that
wrong
This is so painful to watch. Why are they so blind.
Say sorry
Kwasi: *goes on a lecture about not saying sorry*
The strategy that ruined everyone's homes and mortgages, unforgivable really.
Bearing responsibility is just words. He should go to jail and think about it for a few years with Liz Truss
Her is literally saying “I still think removing the 45% tax threshold for those earning over £125K is the right thing to do and I don’t apologise for ruining the livelihoods of the poorest people by trying to remove it”. So basically it was worth further lowering the living standards of the poorest people during a cost of living crisis to try and make the richest people slightly richer.
I like Mr. Kwarteng. He and Ms Truss were very brave in their choice of economic policy. Good guy, wrong time.
I can’t bear anyone who can’t say sorry when they’ve messed up.
Damn... Kwasi is sweating hard... LOL. When I sweat that hard my glasses usually steam up lol
14:36 what a way to land the question! That’s the got’ya moment!!!! 😂
These people believe they ain’t wrong they really couldn’t care less it doesn’t effect them
Yes, lower taxes for the ordinary citizen, but much higher taxes for the rich parasites.
Q - "Do you feel better"? A - " I feel nothing"!
This guy should not be given a public office ever again
Piers knows what he's doing..
Of course he dragged it out of him... And wore him right down... 🤔
The word sorry is only a word so it's irrelevant Morgan
How many excuses for not wanting to apologise? 😆
I don’t want to apologise cause then other people will have to apologise!
Like what???? 🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
