  • The former chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng finally apologised for his economic misjudgements on tonight’s Piers Morgan Uncensored.
In a 24-minute interview, award-winning TalkTV host Piers Morgan repeatedly asked why the politician, who lost his job after just 38 days in office, was unwilling to say sorry to the British people.
During a fiery exchange - in which Piers alluded to Frost v Nixon - the pair clashed time and time again with the shortest-serving living Chancellor saying: “I’m not going to come here, wear a hair shirt and apologise and say sorry.”
Piers responded: “Why not?” Kwarteng replied: “I want to look forward. I don’t want to look back.”
At one point Piers asked the former MP over 20 times if he was sorry, and pressed him on why the words were so difficult to find. Watch to find out what happened next.

For me this was a heavyweight bout of hypocrisy V’s hypocrisy! and hypocrisy won! Two individuals responsible for albeit different actions but both had consequences. Many in positions of power use words and rhetoric in an attempt to dodge the truth. We are surrounded by powerful people who continue to peddle a living at the expense of others whether it be financial or physiological.
The entire interview was a game where pride and self importance appeared more important than the people who were directly affected. This has unfortunately become the norm in a world where the elite are paid huge sums of money but ruin lives along the way.
I’m so ‘glad’ as Piers kept harping on about that Piers and Kwazi feel better about themselves but they both leave a trail of destruction behind them. In my opinion, a very poor display!

I would rather have someone say i was accountable and reaponsible for the things that happened than merely say sorry. I personally wouldnt be sorry if i made a decision that i felt was right (albeit with the toxic combination of ego and stupidity) that turned out erroneous in retrospect.

Her is literally saying “I still think removing the 45% tax threshold for those earning over £125K is the right thing to do and I don’t apologise for ruining the livelihoods of the poorest people by trying to remove it”. So basically it was worth further lowering the living standards of the poorest people during a cost of living crisis to try and make the richest people slightly richer.
