Great selection, especially the MP18 Trench & Cei Rigotti, 1917 Trench carbine, and surprisingly the 1895 TRENCH is quite nice too.
As the High Priest of the Spreadless Church of Huot, it is expected that new disciples look up to the High Priest as Huot's mortal vessel when looking for spiritual guidance and dissuasion to Parabellum's sickly seduction
I recommend the Chauchat and the Sjögren
I think the Huot is just an M1917 with less bullets
I love the Chauchat, especially when bipoded. Accurate, low recoil and fun to use.

Some guns I recommend after the patch:
Chauchat: Very good 3 shot range and can 2 shot kill with headshots, the Chauchat feels like an automatic medic rifle, with unlimited ammo of course because you are Support
Sjögren: Very balanced and Solid shotgun, the Sjögren has a good fire rate, with low recoil and decent one shot kill potential. Doesnt feature any noticable drawbacks as far as shotguns are concerned
Lewis gun: this gun got a very serious buff after the patch and now It is a great all' a 'rounder. I would say it is now better than its rival, the Mg15.
Model 8: Good 3 shot kill and good capacity with the Extended variant. The Factory and Marksman variants gives you some more range however.
Smg08/18: Much better now, more viability and some more "ommmpphh", which the gun desperately needed. Also, In Apocalypse, this gun will get another serious buff. The rate of fire will go up 770 rpm instead of 450.
Cei-rigotti: Solid 3 shot kill and better acccuracy, a more versatile medic gun than before
M1907 SL: Same reasoning as Cei rigotti, improved versatility.
General liu: Very good accuracy, 3 shot kill and one more bullet than the Sebstlader 1906.

Daniel Antony In my opinion it is after the patch. Similar recoil, but the Liu has one extra bullet. This small, but crucial boost can make a huge difference in CQC, which can mean the likelihood of Life or Death.

Kolibri is still underpowered, therefore the game is not balanced.

sebstlader 1906 and autoloading were my long range loves even before the patch ... if i played with one of these i felt like im a sniper not a medic :D its just so accurate even without any scope
Before the patch I liked the Sebstslader 1906, but after the patch I prefer the General liu. Similar accuracy , but one more bullet.

I personally love the Chauchat since the patch. It really feels like a fully automatic DMR now. I enjoy using the telescopic version and picking enemies off at very long ranges.
Honestly, I would much rather go for the General Liu Storm instead of the Selbstlader 1906 - 1 more shot, faster reload, literally zero recoil and (imo) better visuals
TheSillyMuffin Genreral Liu doesn't have a sniper variant like the m1906 does.
TheSillyMuffin the sniper variant takes advantage of the accuracy which the Liu can't do since it's stuck with optical and iron sights

( The new Somme map) Rupture, Galicia, Nivelle, First part of Argonne, First part OF SCAR on op, parts of Soissons, Parts of Seuz on FL, And those are just trenches. Almost all BF1 maps feature trenches.
The weapon is very viable on Amiens, Tahure, Vaux etc. Really, it's a potential cqc weapon whilst still being usable at range.
MP 18 trench is a beast now.

Hey Pilgrim It was never really op, it just served a different role. 1 on 1 in close quarters the mp18 loses to just about every other assault weapon.
Autoloading extended is a beast as well.

The 1895 Trench got a buff as well. I always liked the 1903 Experimental, but now it performs a lot better, closer to some of the pistol carbines the Pilot/Tanker class have but with a higher ammo capacity. I feel it will however be overlooked entirely as it promotes assault style play as the Scout class, which to many defeats the purpose. I'd argue it's at least as good as the Trench Carbine for the Assault class, which is highly effective so I believe people would be foolish to overlook it.
While guns like the Carcano, M.95 Carbine, and 1895 Trench have always been mid/close range snipers and will still perform quite well, the 1903 Experimental can lay down fire much faster and potentially deal with a larger group of enemies before needing a reload. Was using it in conquest on Fort Devoux and it was shredding people...

Why do people keep saying that about the 1906? It's ALWAYS been a three shot kill at all ranges.
farquhar-hill is really good choice after the patch. I only used optical variance before the patch, but storm can be really good choice after then patch
The ribeyrolles is my favorite gun in the game now. It does the job of a lmg and a smg.
The Bipod puts that thing over the top. I think they need to nerf its accuracy a tad
They are doing that in the next patch. It will be slightly better at close range as a compensation if im correct, the first shot multiplier will be better.
The recoil nerf ruined it IMO, it's not nearly as accurate anymore IMO

Only just starting to use the selb 06 to get unlock of sniper for completion. Definitely a good gun like u said tho ammo is a hindrance but it works well. Would I use it as primary medic option.... hell no but it is much better than on release.
The mp18 and the Lewis gun were all I used since the start and we're always really good if you knew how to use it. Especially the Lewis gun, it's insane.

Ameritard That's a myth. French Chauchats chambered in 8mm Lebel were good firearms, the only major issue with them was the magazine with one side open to the elements. American Chauchats chambered in .30-06 were shit because of the terrible conversion to an American cartridge, but they were never used in combat.
I'm having a hard time using that gun because of the magazine size and rate of fire. The Huot is another LMG that I have a hard time using as well. I'm trying to use guns that I normally don't use as a way to test myself. The Madsen seems a lot better to use after the TTK patch.
+1 for the Lewis gun, it was always decent, it's now good. Definitely worth a try, but, like most LMG's post TTK patch, best used at medium range - the medic class benefited most from the the recent update.
i had to stop the video at 8.28 and say Westie, well done on the revives, in other videos you would show and tell the guns but fail to revive teammates, but you are now a super medic! My hats off to you Sir, as there is nothing more important than reviving teammates, every life is a point and every point wins. Nice job! on with the video.

Cei Rigotti is definitely my to go weapon that I have been using it since the beta of BF1.
I found Cei rigotti, especially the trench varient is very sutiable for close to medium range battle (best for medium range) as it has a moderate fire rate and being quite accurate.
Although it might not be as strong as other rifles like Fedorov or Farquer Hill, I found it very fun to play. Highly recommand others to use Cei Rigotti, especially trench varient.
I am so glad that these guns habe been improved! The Lewis is now an amazing weapon, and it's competitive in close range and mid range. The suppressive version is REALLY good in long range now too!
The Autoloading .35 was pre patch my favorite medic rifle, even though usually i could only get one kill (posibility of two if enemy was hurt or headshot included). I have not used it since the patch though since my BF1 game doesnt work currently.
Hey Westie, the Salt here from Aus, still loving the Selbstlader 1916 Factory. 11,367 kills with i think its the best all round Medic Gun.
Highly accurate first shot like Mondrogon which i loved all thru beta but slower recentre which means you must rhythm the Selbstlader 1916 shots for subsequent shot accuracy.
The Selb extra ammo and 1 clip quick reload is the capper for me. The extra bullets allow you in many cases to almost find youre target if youre off or at least persist longer if they are running out of sight.
The Mondrogon Factory - 10 bullet (over 2 x 5 bullet clips)
1 kill is 2 to 3 bullets. Can fire trigger faster and shot stays on target. Its very nice gun.
However 1 kill = 20 to 30% ammo consumption. Thats means can kill 3 to 5 enemies per 2 x 5 clips. Its prob closer to 2 on avg.
The Selbstlader 1916 Factory has 26 bullet clip.
1 kill is 2 to 3 bullets same dmg over range. Thats 8.25 to 13 kills per reload.
Im nowhere near 100% accurate. This is where Selbstlader has more flexibility.
If i miss a shot on each i can still kill 6. With Mondrogon thats 5 clip reloads required
With the Selb f i miss 2 i can still kill 5.
If i miss 3 shots per target i can still kill 4. Thats 50% accuracy.
With Mondrogon if im shooting at 50% thats 1 kill per 2 x 5 clip reload.
[ The Selb 50% (half) reload time with a 4 to 1 kill ratio at 50% accuracy. As you can see far more flexible.
However the patch is hurting me as my BTK hasnt changed whilst theirs has so in TTK terms im getting done before i get the 3rd bullet or kill shot in more now in CQB.
The fact the Mondragon is a quicker TTK would prob win those battles but from mid range outward its really just asking you to use the gun with some finnesse.
YES! For the longest time my mainstay weapon for medic was the Cei-Rigotti Trench. Its such a versatile and good generalist choice gun.
The trick with the 1906 and the auto 8 is to always use the full mag so you don't have to load individual rounds. Same with the Cei Rigotti if you count your shots and use múltiples of 5. You load a full clip each time. Works OK for me 😃
I have found the huot to be a little bit better than the lewis, as it has nearly double the accuracy but half the ammo, almost exactly. So if you are wanting to be suppressing and you have other folks in your squad to back you up, the lewis is good because of the larger mag, but if you can manage your ammo well the huot seems to be the better for landing hits.
I feel as though that there was a lack of point here. The autoloading, sebslater 1906, and huot are the only guns I don't see that often. I see the autobloading but its specifically to unlock a dlc weapon. The reason people stopped using the base game isn't do to the fact that they just sucked, but people want different guns that are nicer to look at and perform more to their playstyle. My opinion though.
Trick for the Cei Rigotti that works very well. Expunge all the bullets in the magazine and load one charger into the gun, and pull the trigger to cancel the next stripper clip loading, so that you have five shots. You have a few extra seconds of free time to counter an enemy in a hot situation, and if you get out of the fight alive and have five rounds left, you load the final clip in and have ten. Really fun to do and effective, and makes you feel a certain way I can't describe. There's just something weirdly surreal about charger clip loading in a dismal ww1 environment, and monitering your ammo to be a faster shot, it's really interesting
Madsen Storm is a great option now that the BAR got increased recoil. Better than the Lewis or Huot for sure I think

Autoloading 8 .25 Theyre absolutely great and surprisingly versatile now.
German BF1 player here: Actually I already found the MP 18 Trench to be a very good smg before the update. I regularly finished 2-3 with just one mag and Im hoping to improve that now. And as its one of the weapons in the game that actually found some use in the war, I dont get a weird feeling using it ingame.

I hated the Cei Rigotti until I found out about the automatic fire mode. For the first couple months playing BF 1, I was only tap-firing it. A painful experience to say the least lol. Now, it is my favorite Medic weapon because of its versatility. It can go automatic at close range or reach out and touch baddies at mid to long range.
The MP 18 has always been my favorite SMG because it's hipfire has always been badass, and now it's even better!
Auto loading 8 has always been one of the best weapons in the game period (imo obviously). The extended variant has always been my go to and is on par with the fedorov and I don’t see many people using it. The time to kill for a long time was only out classed by the automatico. Not sure if it still holds that title after the patch and TUTI weapons. But yeah, it just destroys on maps like Amiens, Nivelle Nights, Prise De Tahure, Cape Helles, etc. I feel like that needed to be said after over a year of it not getting the love it deserves.
Why would you EVER use the 1906 over the auto8 .35? Auto8 now 3 shots to 70 m, and only then is the 1906 better. 1906 has become completely irrelevant.

I was playing the MP18 and the Huot since like the release. Kinda proud that I stood for the standarts since day1 , now I will destroy even more faces with these two
MP18 and Trench carbine been my go to, now I like em even more. My new favorite support weapon is the M1917 Low weight, sauce delivery all day.

The medic full-auto sweeper is so much better than the cei-riegotti
I use the autoloading 8.25 extended and it is much better than it was a while ago, it feels like the sebstalader 1906 but with 16 ammo in the magazine, it allows me to get insane streaks and I often can take out multiple enemies in quick succession with just one ammo clip, i really do recommend that you use it.
Huot and selbstlader 1906 have always been great guns to use, both fun and just effective in general regardless of low ammo capacity
The MP18 trench is my second fav smg after SMG08.
ribeyrolles just got a nerf today, they doubled the horizontal recoil (0.16 to 0.33), a huge nerf, on other hand they decreased the first shot spread multiplier of the Ribeyrolles from 4 to 3, but the weapon turned into a crap
What about the Chauchat light machine gun? I’ve been using it since the patch and it has become an absolute power house at almost every range.
One of the only things I enjoyed actually grinding for was getting the 1903 sniper variant because getting 500 kills is plenty to figure out the true potential of a weapon

Madsen Trench. It can compete with SMGs at close range because of that increased hip accuracy, and that has become more important now that ADS time for LMGs is sluggish. Mid range isn't bad, but for an aggressive support, there is nothing better imo.
I've always liked the 8.35 marksman. Its ttk is faster than the autoplebico & I'm happy dice pushed its 3 shot potential from 47m out to 70m.
Will they ever buff the M1903 experimental?? it seems super weak even up close ... they could increase its fire rate to 450 at least.

Penny Sheldor .. yeah and it was usable before when it was 450 fire rate at least for close range, at far range it is hard to kill anyone with it, logical since it does use pistol ammo lol ... Even at 450, when fighting up close you are going up against people that have full auto machine guns and shotguns and they will kill you waaay easier than you can kill them with the experimental. And the accuracy of the gun is also not good for long range, it was not meant to be used long range anyways, i don't even want to mention its horrible iron sight. So to balance the gun against close range opponents they should bring the fire rate to 450, they can't increase the damage because it uses standard pistol ammo.
It was specifically buffed to do more damage and the fire rate was increases as far as I'm aware.
The iron sights need tweaking more than anything else.

Westie, I decided to give the Huot Automatic Rifle a second chance after watching this video, and I must say that it's become my current favorite support weapon, since it now is almost like an assault rifle for the support class, and I've managed to get over halfway to unlocking the optical version in just 2 weeks after watching this video. :)
Also, I just noticed that the 'Vimy Ridge' distinguished skin has an embossed version of your emblem on it, which I think is way cool.
The Autoloading 8.35 Extended is now the Best "All purpose rifle" for the Medic class in the game. 3 shot kill up to 22 meters and a fire rate of 359 RPM. Its a bit punishing in the 39 meters and out range, but with a 16 bullet magazine. you can get 3 long range kills per mag and the reload time is only 2.4 seconds with a bullet left. As an "all purpose rifle" it's hard to beat.
Guys I’ve got an update on the zeebruge Easter egg.
If you jump of the lighthouse after shooting or hitting the bell you hear some monster sounding call. Then when you swim out a little in the water you will se specs of black (possible squid ink) and when you dive you’ll see what appears to be tentacles.
Also I believe there is something Easter egg related to the red lights as they have the same switches as seen with the m1917 skin Easter egg on the Russian map.
Optical Farquhar for me is an absolute beats now.

Farq/Fedorov have been my go to's for a long time now, but CeiRi is my first love so I'll gladly run with it again.
I loved the trench carbine before the TTK patch, it had a high ammo capacity and was very accurate. I still haven't used it post-patch though due to me working on the elite codexes so I get the bonus score before I hit the maximum rank (almost there on the codexes, 12 ranks left though before I hit 130 but Apocalypse will probably hit before I get there due to a lack of time to play).
You know Westie what I really had hoped for was a major buff to ALL bolt-action rifles. Being single-shot they would need to be very strong. Remember Call of Duty 2003, a bolt-shot to the torso made you hit the floor. Even Call of Duty 2 had very strong bolts, why? Balance. Right now it feels like picking up a bolt-action rifle is a suicide decision. Quite bad for a game which depicts WWI, which had mostly bolt-action going on. I do hope there will be another patch dealing with this matter.

And my play style is I switch up on guns I like to use a lot and train my self on all the guns that way when I run out of ammo I can pick up any gun on the battlefield and be familiar with it and know it's pros and cons
Cei-Rigotti is by far the most slept on weapon in the game. Its sights make it feel so much more accurate than the other medic rifles
The 1906 was my go to weapon before the patch. I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed because it has not really changed (except the range). After the patch, I tried the RSC and it's pretty impressive but I still prefer the 1906 because I have the feeling I take down an ennemy as fast as the RSC and the accuracy is still impressive. That's the reason why I play this weapon extremely accurate with a high rate of fire. I think in terms of balance, it is the most useful rifle in the medic class (with the Liu and RSC) because you can deal with any range.
Of course, you have to keep in mind that you need to change your gameplay due to the low ammo capacity.

I love the autoloading et. but I have noticed that the weapon got a longer tactical reload animation. It essentially has the same reload animation as the long reload if that makes sense.
Did console get the full update, like with bullet damage increase? I have noticed my damage did not increase when I look at the weapons the M1917 Trench Carbine is 27 damage.
I love the rattle snake skin it was my first legendary skin actually, I also love the kopparhead for the Perino and the war horse for the bar, and the 1906s legendary skin, love your vids man keep it up! P.S- is there any news on the smg 08 when it will get the fire rate buff?

The Browning 1917 is my favorite gun in the game after the patch. It just enabled me go like 60-4 in a game of Conquest lol

I mean, The Autoloading was already great before the patch and I would argue it is worse now than it was before compared to the others. Same thing with the Selbstlader 1906. The spread reduction only affects engagement at longer ranges where you are now able to spam the trigger and still hit if you are accurate enough with your mouse/stick. But at close range, since SMGs and LMGs have received damage damage buffs which makes these rifles worse at CQC than they were before. They're still strong options, but the buff that was brought to other weapons make them less godly than they were. Especially since the Median engagement range is 15 meters and the distance that has the highest amount of death is under 10 meters. Less than 10 percent of kills happen beyond 75 meters making the Medic's rifle buffs only more efficient beyond those ranges. In over 75 percent of the cases of engagement distances, Medic rifles were already accurate enough to guaranty 100% accuracy before the patch. The Medic rifles' buff is very minimal and will only affect the most inaccurate and pleb tier rifles like The M1907 SL to make them usable at range, but still pretty bad. Buffing weapons' capacities at long range is pretty much just a way to say the weapons were buffed without really buffing anything.

I have 100 service stars with the M1917 Trench Carbine, and I love this gun - even before this patch.
Liked the trench carbine from the day it came out, sure its semi auto but recoil is almost non existent and being a smaller gun than most it has a very open view that makes tracking moving targets quite easy.
i will admit that some weapons before the update some had problems some just down right trumps the rest of the weapons in said category by a long shot but now to me i feel the weapon difference are now close together all the while the clip size is hte only thing thats notable, now yea people will say that the hellriegel is powerful, its power is as good as any other SMG, but its control is what made it stand out all teh while some medic weapons were buffed while some are neutered and i believe the medic class needs some close range weapons such as shotguns, carbines and evne SMGs

The selbstlader 1906 sniper is my favorite medic rifle along side the m1907 trench and factory
Huot automatic in it's low weight version for aggressive support player in prone using a window ledge or bunker opening
I actually love the sebstaedlater 1906 I decided to try it and because it's so spammy and is a 3 shot kill it was just fun to use, got 300 kills with it in a day
The Huot, Lewis gun and Cei-Rigotti where allready amazing guns. Although a agree with you that the Fedorov took over the place of the Cei-Rigotti.
I'm surprised about the trench carbine, apart from its name I thought it fit in as the longer range option for assault since they didn't really have anything useful at mid range
I don't see a reason to use the selbstlader 1906 over the RSC 1917 tbh. It is one shot less to kill at range, has a bullet more and it's also pretty controllable and good at close range.
