I have dentures. My tooth loss was caused my a prescribe to me by a doctor. I really don't like wearing them, but put them in if I go somewhere and also when eating. You will get used to them.
Hi, thank you for your comment. Can I ask how long you’ve had them for and why you don’t like them? I’m sorry you’re having a difficult time with yours when they are meant to make life better. It’s a big adjustment physically and mentally especially if you got used to the pain, eating and drinking certain ways to try and avoid the pain and the change in appearance too as well as remembering you don’t have to hide your teeth when you speak
@@wheels_n_feels I have to use adhesive and I hate the goo left in my mouth after I take them out. It clears fairly quickly, but still hate it. I have had them for about 4 years now. Prescribed Prozac made them rot from the inside out. I can almost eat anything I want - -no pain. I do, for some reason have a hard time processing spot taco shells.
@garys-little-corner I get that. What adhesive are you using and how are you removing it? I’ve been using poligrip flavour free and just switched to poligrip max hold flavour free… easiest way I’ve found of getting the stuff off my gums is after loosening my denture with warm water and removing it I let the glue cool back down a bit then I use some bounty to wipe it off the roof of my mouth and gums and any little bits that are stretching and look like they will snap when I pull the kitchen roll away I hold it and peel with my fingers and to get it off my denture I put a denture tab in my tub then put my denture upside down on top of it, fill it with warm water and leave it (usually till morning) then take scent free dish soap and a denture brush just to make sure it’s clean and doesn’t have denture tab residue left over too. I found fixadent was basically unusable and just can’t be worked with. I’m really sorry Prozac did that to your teeth, for me it was a mix of alcoholism for a few years in my yearly 20s, prescription medications later on, genetics and health issues. I wear my dentures most of the time but leave them out for a bit during the morning after I wake up and I only glue them in if I’m going somewhere or I know I’ll be eating something that can be tricky. Do you find your dentures still fit well? I’m looking forward to having my final set, I feel like my mouth has completely changed shape since getting my temporary dentures. If you have any denture products you’d recommend or would like to see me try for a video that would be cool.
@@wheels_n_feels I use some over the counter denture cream I get from my insurance company. And of course soak them with a denture cleaner at night which is also generic and i get from the same program.
Ah are you in America? Is denture cream and cleaning tablets expensive there? Here in the U.K. (at least Scotland to be exact) they don’t give you things like that just the dentures and then you find products you like through trial and error… I didn’t even get a tub for mine, I did get a case for my sleep splint though and sometimes the dentist will give me a flavourless toothpaste that doesn’t foam up for free (if I remember to ask but I’m usually in too much shock from extractions to ask)
