    The historical context is awareness that the people who created historical sources were living at a time which may have held opinions and beliefs that are very different to what we consider to be normal by today's standard. There are 4 steps to identifying a sources historical context, first is when was the source made?, 2nd where was it created?, 3rd what event occurred at that time?, 4th is read the source to identify specific language.

    To determine a source's perspective you need to know the nationality, social status, political persuasion, culture, religion, and education.

    How authoritative is the context analysis as source of history???

    • @HistorySkills
      @HistorySkills  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question, Miranie. Context, by itself, isn't "authoritative", as such. It is one of the six analysis skills you can use to justify a source's reliability when evaluating it. I hope that helps.

    You should do a source analyse how the significance of the source

    Heres an idea. Instead of doing a video on such a topic as the after results of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, try creating one that deals with events such as the meltdown of the #4 reactor at Chernobyl.

    Reliability is based upon the creator of the source, the creator was present at the event, the creator is highly educated about the event and the source is fact-checked and approved.

      @HistorySkills  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sorry to hear that. Remember, you can choose to slow down any TH-cam video if it is too fast, or you can read the same information here: www.historyskills.com/source-criticism/analysis/context/
      I hope either solution helps.
