Lead guitar is Jake Dreyer (Witherfall), bass player is Marcus (Blind Guardian rhythm guitarist), drummer is Frederick (Blind Guardian). You are basically right on with the message. Hansi wrote the lyrics about something that happened in his home town. There was a little boy that got killed by a car while riding his bike. Then about 2 weeks later a little girl was killed basically the same way. In the song, the Fiddler is another name for the Grim Reaper. He takes the boy, then realizes it was a mistake so he finds the girl who was destined to grow up and be his wife and asks her to come be with the boy. I saw them on this tour (in Chicago) and it was one of the best concerts in my life (says the guy who has been going to concerts since 1981)
Been singing this song for like 23 years and never knew the backstory 😱 Had the chance to see them live twice in 2019 (Saarbrücken and Wacken). Best concerts of my life. Too bad there won't be anymore😢
Side project of Blind Guardian's Hansi Kursch and Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer. Formed in 1998, they used live/session members for the rest of the instruments. In 2021, the label dropped them, and Hansi announced he was leaving the band, after Jon was among the protesters that stormed the US Capitol.
@@Trelokor1This is correct yes... band members left because they didn't want to be connected to that. But Century Media still has Iced Earth under contract. As a guitarist Jon was always a great influence and idol for me (for his songwriting and playing style) but his political involvment fucked that up... As they say "You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain"...
Dude was based af and doing what he thought was inline with his patriotic duty. Misguided perhaps but dude gots hella heart. His bandmates are posers and wouldn't have survived the battle of helms deep without soiling their knickers.
Regarding Wacken you usually can get tickets again closer to the festival as people who can't attend are reselling their tickets. Also of course Blind Guardian will be there in 2024.
I actually saw a TikTok about The Hu the other day, some guy met them and was super stoked about it. That being said I haven't heard any of their music, ill add it to my list :)
"We won't take another 19 years to come back" - 5 months later they parted ways because Jon Schaffer (guitarist and main song writer next to Hansi) stormed the capitol...
As it turns out, it was not as the media portrayed it to be. Yet Hansi, like all other people (sheep?) who should've known better, judged him based on the media-driven distorted source.
awsome performance Hansi is one of the best singer

Oh wow, that’s interesting that he witnessed that and wrote a song about it. I bet seeing them was amazing!

Oh crap the label dropped them?? I didn’t know that was Jon from iced earth. I love finding these side projects
@@TheMindofBruce Well, I think also Hansi did not really want to work with him after that incident same as most Iced Earth members left the band.
Todos unos cagones, viva Schafer!
