I really enjoy your videos. Moved up to Michigan about a year ago. 61 years old and not yet ready to give up dirt bikes or competition, so I thought I'd do the enduro/harescramble thing, so I've been watching your videos to get an idea of what it's like. This was my first harescramble (2023 KTM 300 XC-W I bought two weeks ago). My first lap was good - I was really happy with it. On my 2nd lap I got out of shape on the biggest uphill and got stuck. I zapped all my energy getting out of that mess and rested, then rested again a little later. After that I was dropping my bike or going off the track a lot, so I pulled off early in my 3rd lap. I learned a lot, will get more fit and get the suspension set up for my weight. As you said, the track went to hell after the 1st lap. Big rocks sticking out. I enjoyed the deep, sandy motocross part of the track. Thanks again for your videos and I'll have to look for you and thank you in-person at the next one. Maybe Whiskey Creek!
Thank you that means a lot! Glad you came out to race. I myself know I'm never going to win but I enjoy these events and it keeps me in shape too. The other plus to these is it makes the State Trail System seem super easy compared to these courses. I'll be at whiskey for sure! 🤙
Thanks for sharing, I was on the fence about doing this race, and kind of bummed I didn't. Looks like the property worked really well for harescramble format, with the track portion separating everyone out pretty well before you got into the woods, and it's wide enough to pass in many places. I personally enjoy it when things get a bit more gnarly... I'm not the fastest rider when it's all buttery smooth, but I can move through rocks, roots, and ruts quicker than many :D
I got a different name for those rocks on the trail, but I don't think youtube will let me comment that. Anyways. They tossed me all over, along with the sand, meaning I was dumping the clutch a lot to break the rear loose for my powerband. Good stuff. Felt like my 8hr race in Georgia with all the rocks and looseness.
Love the thumbnail!! Jamie sitting on the hill!! I usually don't make it on your videos, but I did this one. I had bike problems and left the course to go fix it and by the time I got back on the track, I was in row 15.
Wish the moto track wasn’t backwards but the trail was great. Just my $.02 Find a turn track and work on corner speed looks like a lot of inconsistent throttle blipping in corners smooth is fast you will be P1 in no time. great vid
Your assessment of the course was spot on, it was definitely tough everywhere! I let you pass me sometime on my 2nd lap but it must have been when your video cut off...what PSI did you run on your tires? I had 11 and had heard about the abundance of rocks

What's up, Dmitriy! Yes, you missed a good one. This was definitely the hardest HS so far this year.
That’s funny you got me on video picking up my bike after you come they scoring on to the motocross track and first turn by the tires
Camera 👀 everything 😁

Definitely tough but great time also!

Glad you could fix the bike and get back out there.
Good job. You handled some of that rough stuff better than me. Lol. Love the intro.
Thanks, just being my cheesy self in the intro lol 😆
First few laps weren’t too bad but it sure was getting rough towards the end! I was glad to see the checkered flag for sure. Great video!
Thanks, Mike! Seeing the checkered flag sure was nice.

I always run 11 front and 10 rear but I have UHD tubes.
man i like those races but i get so dog bone tired and at 60 i don't know if training will help at this point
You can always just do a few laps for fun.
That's bad ass! When is the next race and how do I sign up for it?
The next Hare Scramble is at Whiskey Creek Campground on September 29th. You can sign up at the event just show up early.
