    Hey TH-cam, it’s been a while since I posted but I wanted to challenge myself and the 340i. so I got a couple runs with a few fast guys. This is how it went…..

    Awesome race - too close to call, gotta mod up and re run! These automatics are so damn fast these days. I remember when everyone used to want a manual over auto because automatics were slower, couldnt hold as much power, and had a delayed gear change. now theyre its the tranny of choice. Even DCT and SMG gearboxes seem to be getting phased out.

      Smg is old tech from early to mid 2000s and those were unreliable transmissions. Dct are not getting phased out really, as they are faster than automatics still. They just aren’t as smooth in lower speeds etc. even the gt500 is using dual clutch. Think the 10 speed is a triple clutch so it’s more similar to a dct instead of regular torque converter automatic like a zf8 speed id say.

      @@MikeyG003 The core difference between a DCT transmission and an traditional automatic transmission is that the DCT transmission doesn't use a torque converter.
      10 speed is not a "Triple Clutch Transmission"
      The traditional automatic is smoother, can hold more power, cheaper to build, and can shift very damn fast these days. Only 5% of automatic cars come with DCT transmissions.

      @@MikeyG003 DCT is old tech from the 1950's
      Sequential Manual Gearboxes are still used on racecars and motorcycles.
      The DCT is being replaced by the better automatics. That is my point. Automatics used to be the slower transmission choice with 3 gears only.

    Nice run. I’m assuming the mustang has a custom tune that actually extracts the most power out of his set up, while the 340i is on an off the shelf (ots) generic and conservative tune?

      ​@@2400Vic just curious do your OTS tunes in those cars include online tune ups using vehicle diagnostic recording tool? That's how a lot of the Mustangs are I think.

      @@Greatest_Scott yes the ots is a downloadable file from bootmod3 which is also a tool to read logs and scan for codes or issues. it’s an all in one.

      It was with a TU pump so upgraded on e30.

      @@2400Vic nice so TU pump 93 vs 10 Speed 93 should be advantage to the 340i. I assume if he’s on full e85 that’s not the only mod. I appreciate it.

      @@thomasburns3345 no 340i are pretty slow on 93 especially roll racing you need at least e30 or e50 to beat modded mustangs. The e85 mixture really wakes up the car and helps with top end.

      @@2400Vic Interesting I assumed the e85 would be a bigger gap from 93 in the Mustang than 93 to e30 on the 340i. So you're saying Stage 2+ 340i on 93 wont hang with a 93 10R80? I know it should scoot out on a manual though, I've seen them have a hard time breaking into the 9s 60-130 which is where I see 340i Stage 2+ on pump hitting . Damn... I have access to Ethanol but its ONE station, and they don't have 93 so it's driving around and mixing at different stations. Looks like I should set up Flex Fuel tuning then...

      @@thomasburns3345 yea flex fuel tuning is the best option. And correct a 10 speed mustang on 93 with simple
      Mods is beating a stage 2 93 340i but not by much very close. E50 on a 340 with a hpfp and it’s a whole different story.
