This is the layout we almost always instinctually choose, because there are so many counters. We've tried to get away from it, but it JUST KEEPS PULLING US BACK IN!
I'm all for Diner's playing solo or duo; it doesn't allow for a large amount of automation, but it'll get you past franchise, no problem. For 4 players though, yeah, diners are tight :)
It seems to me that the wash basin is almost superior to the dishwasher, especially in multiplayer where you can now team up on a task. Like Ash mentioned, having to wait for the dishwasher to cycle takes a good chunk of time. In single player the "set it and forget it" aspect of the dishwasher shines a lot more. Honestly the medium groups was your biggest challenge because you had a good set up and flow overall, but the amount of work needed for each table was large. I do wish there was more options to increase queue patience too as that tends to sink a good run faster than anything.
Just a tip, next time, it would be a good idea to get the prep station, because jazzy could have filled it up with empty pie shells for price to fill with meat. It's basically 4 counters in one, and takes up way less space. It really could have increased productivity, that way jazzy doesn't have to wait for the counters to clear up before she can keep making pie shells
I have a tip for Aenne: you can ask the customer what they want after you've put down a dish, or while holding a dish for a second customer at the same table. That will save you some trips with dishes. :)
You should wait to take orders until you absolutely need to/can take them (i.e. right before you serve), especially when you already know what they want. Otherwise you're wasting an entire wait meter that can be helpful down the line
People line up outside way quicker than people inside--you can't wait around to take orders without the outside line increasing. Maybe early game you could, but you also don't need to early on because there's so much time.
@@cheese3640 I agree, when I first started watching them in the don’t starve series it was impossible for me until Price started becoming Webber. We are lucky he has a thousand voices hehe
The dishwasher is never as beneficial as it seems. I think it only works with 2 sets of dishes since its harder to control the timing. It's also probably better in single player where you need the automated items to help out.
I like Price's strat where he has both a dishwasher and a wash basin or a dish rack because it basically gives you a place to store dirty dishes while you wait for the dishwasher
Dishwasher is AMAZING, I've only seen players have trouble with it when they don't stay on top. If you're a whole load behind you run out of plates and it's a mess, but that's a player prioritizing issue and not the washer itself.
@@carlotta4th the time it takes to power wash 4 dishes is a lot faster than a dishwasher. Also for the stumpt crew that likes to preemptively load stuff up with plates makes using a dishwasher seem useless.
The wash basin would have been better for this situation simply because you had someone doing dishes. I’d also suggest buying a plate pile early game if you can afford them because you can never have too many plates!! You guys did really well though.
Also experimenting with more L shaped tables could possibly have helped you get one more table or to extend the 2 person table into a 4 person one. I'm not entirely sure if there was room for that in that map
If you guys had moved the plates up next to the sink by the flower instead of the wall may have relieved that pinch point between Ash and Aenne, having them all the way down at the wall didn't make much sense if you weren't going to a different room
[YELPISH REVIEW] "Finally got to eat 3.14 whole steak meat pies ! I didn't expect much since it was end of service, but got extra cheese and wine ! Waiteress was adorable, will definitely come again :)"
Aenne needs to wash the dish or and not leaving them in the sink. It helps with the flow of the other players, if they do not need to stop what they are doing. Unless they were in an emergency, or had a zones system, it very important to not impede others movement or actions.
Slip and Pied. Pie-demonium Pied-piper Pie me with liquor Hunger of the Pie Pie one on Also, I thought you guy upgraded the soaking sink into the dishwasher?
Good run. Just a tip, try not to load the washing machine with 4 in the rush. You can run it with 3 plates that way you can get more plates out faster.
efficiency-wise, this episode was a MESS. The top right Price+Jaz corner worked near perfect. But the bottom left, with all the bumping in each other and Ash not being able to handle the dishes was a totally different story. The plates were places inefficient the whole time. There was a lack of counter space to quickly remove dirty plates to. The only place to hold dirty dishes were the first and second sink while you have a rush of 5 plates at peaks. B+ for Aennes german, C- for the lack of thoughts to identify your pinch points.
22:22 Price is wrong again, spreading false facts. Charming (homey) decorations do NOT make customers order their food longer. It increases the patience of guests so they will wait longer before they leave after waiting too long (which is a losing condition, as you perfectly know
Lol what? He's not purposely spreading false facts, there's so much info about this game that didn't used to be nicely summarized on the left of the screen, so its possible to misunderstand some factor out of so many bits of info, and then internalize it and continue thinking it. Not to mention all the info from people in the comments that they definitely don't have time to double check and research, and people in the comments definitely also make mistakes.
@@Kahlan_Amnell_ noone said it was on purpose. I also get the accusatory tone, but it was probably well meant and unfortunately articulated. Benefit of doubt and such
I understand that he means good trying to avoid what is considered underpowered, even though that way is wrong and not backed up by experience or knowledge shared by Rik or viewers in the comments, but it bugs me that he continuously spites charm decorations despite them being quite good. Stumpt used to get charming decorations and no benefit of having them made customers order longer or whatever. The same with affordable decorations (burgers), back in the day Price was saying that having negative burgers would make customer eat longer, despite no "negative levels" of themes being in the game. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to attack Price, I really like him and the rest of the crew, I also understand his good intentions. You know, I just wish he changed his opinion on charming decorations, especially when it is not reasonable to makes decoration benefits actually harmful to players (like longer ordering time, or longer eating time, regarding to themes themselves and not items)
I was so confused by this as well. Homey means customers are more patient, not take longer to eat or order. It's espcially helpful when you are serving 2-5 ppl per table.

@@paulandersbullecer3152 Agreed. It's just that this location tends to run out of space quickly. Depending on the player count you have.

A tip for ash. if i recall correctly, i remember noticing that you can wash dishes with a dirty dish in your hand.
The dishwasher isn't the best way to clean dishes. Power sink and basin!
True. Basin for storage and power sink to churn out as many clean dishes as fast as possible

44:12 Jazzy thats hilarious! I love hearing of other people's dreams.
This was hilarious to watch, especially Aenne's sass towards the customers, which then evolved into German boy accent, and finally into pure stress.
Alt title: Aenne slowly loses her mind.
Also 55:06 "What are you doing on the other side of the chest high wall!"
Cause wine has now become a prominent topic in Stumpt due to Aenne, I would like to bring up an important question, Room-temperature or Cold?
