I'm japanese, so I'll clarify the slurping ramen thing: it's not a compliment. That said, it's still custom to slurp. Ramen is served hot, with the noodles just recently bathed in the soup broth. If you let them sit, they soak terribly and become soggy, soft, weak, and overly fattened. Instead, it *should* be eaten hot, with the soup dripping off them. Being hot, slurping while eating is kind of a necessity (sort of), and can help aerate the noodles, but it is absolutely seen as inelegant by some. Women, for example, don't slurp so much, instead some even using a spoon to assist while eating to both not need to slurp, and not splash. What is possible is that through words getting mixed up as they're being shared, someone confused it with "being loud" while eating ramen, as in saying things like "美味い！" (delicious!). This is only really a thing at pub-like restaurants, or small ramen shops where you're sitting directly facing the chef. An average ramen shop is not like that. And again, this is seen as inelegant and even crude. Normally, you just eat your ramen and enjoy it to yourself...

I want to say that I read in a book about Japan, it was mostly helpful words and phrases, the times for different festivals, etc. But I want to say that it had something about the slurping, but that it was the soup part of the ramen or noodles as well as it being different depending on where you ate, but it was honestly years since I read that thing so I doubt that I remember it right.

It's the same as the steak sauces. I can't remember which way around it is; try one, if it's slow, use the other. - The chairs turning on is an unfortunate side effect of the blueprint days. When they fall into a disabled chair spot, the "moving" of the blueprint enables the previously chair underneath. - The Research Desk will upgrade into one of the Copying Desk, Blueprint Desk or Discount Desk. If you leave those three in a blueprint cabinet and re-research it, it will rotate through those 3 desks.
Beans does sound faster because double orders means you'll be washing double the amount of dishes & will be waiting more time for them to finish deciding on the order overall.
Also, when you upgrade the research desk into one of the 3 upgraded desks, they can then be upgraded in a cycle between each other. So a copy desk becomes a discount desk which becomes a blueprint desk which goes back to copy. Or it's the other way around, I can't remember the order, but they rotate around so you can pick which one you want

You can upgrade the copying desk to get the blueprint desk if that is what you want. The game needs a tutorial for the upgrading desks, it's not even clear the benefit of upgrading a desk unless someone tells you how to do it or you get it by accident.

@Dev of the game, btw I feel like instead of having envelops in the restaurant, it's better to have a store with all kind of stuff to buy but limit it(lock) with star or something like level, so instead of starting with things you can't buy at early day, unlock the common on the store at 0 star then more rarity at 1-2-3-4-5 star. In fact I feel like you can make this weirder but fun by making a supermarket next to it, so that the player can change what they are cooking or add more if they want to challenge themselves or as strategy to get more money(plus you could still force the player like the "need larger table" notification, asking "hey player, add one more variety of food"), then the cards can focus more on the buff and debuff on customer or patient etc. the last part is interesting to me since you can do something like previous version franchise if I'm remembering it correctly like "fish and toast" or the "steak and stir-fry" if the player doesn't want to do different kind of steak, after steak.. or different kind of seafood after seafood...

Great team work. There's also lots to see in the multiplayer epsiodes. Something for everyone. I was watching Aenne and Jazzy for the first 3/4s of the episode, then I was able to watch Ash and Price for the last 1/4. I like the role changes, so everyone gets to try every skill. Price idea with the center Hob was a game changer for Annae. In the end, your bottleneck was not serving fast enough (always 4+ customers without food on the table) as ash had the burden of loading the plate with beans. How many times did I saw Jaz standing with a toast plate waiting for ash? They never came to the conclusion, that jaz could preload the toast with beans, so more customers could served. Even price came into the kitchen to preload beans with toast. Now knowing that you can fastload toast with beans by hovering it with the pot is also a game changer. I hope on another bean-run :D

Haven't finished the episode, don't know if y'all have figured this out, but there are two different buttons that will interact with things like beans and steak sauces. One will take a long time like what ash started doing with the beans. The other will instantly plate the beans or sauces
@BT_Mikey If this is the case then the Dev of the game should really look into it and make it the same button because that is too confusing and convoluted! The game is new but most of it's funtions aren't very well communicated with the player at all and it's very frustrating sometimes.

That plates upgrade to an auto plater! It's a plate stack that can hold 4 plates and has an arrow pointing in a direction. Anything placed on a counter in that direction will be plated if it can be plated and there are plates in the stack

Putting the research desk into the blueprint cabinet early on to change it into a blueprint desk could help out on getting what items you want/need later in the game.
This is like immersion therapy for me because I've had the trauma of working as a cook for Dairy Queen I've been there 💀 it's not even multiple people sometimes we would get an oil field worker they send one guy with all the money they pitched in and order 30 to 50 double meat burgers
Love watching this series! That was a very good run, sad that the items you needed the most did not show up (at the right time) but I think there could be other things that you can do, eg 1. upgrade some tables to metal tables and just have the tables lined up in one column facing towards the kitchen, and the customers sit on the left of the tables. Although that has a maximum of 6 tables in a column but could use Aenne’s diagonal method to extend it further. Leave the 2 columns in front of the counter space blank so Ash and Price can walk at the same time. This way you have shorter average distance to every table, and you wont have customers pushing you. 2. Since toast is relatively easy to make, I think the second chef (Jas in this round) could be responsible for plating bread with beans (if beans was added, otherwise just brainless bread), and turn the two counters in the serving window to be prep stations, one just plain bread one with beans.
Remember to breathe, that got intense, but ya'll did great. That line at the end went off screen, and every time a new customer entered, the end of the line did not show.
You know what would be helpful, if there was some sort of merchant system (don't know what else to call it) implemented into the game. Like with the bat-phone, only it can only be used in between days (when you buy stuff). Have a little order table that you can use to purchase a request. Don't know how they would go about it, but the idea is you can ask for a certain category. Example : Cleaning (something you desperately needed help with) So when the day is over and you're buying things, you go over and click into the order table. There you would have category orders that you can purchase. Choosing to purchase these orders would guaranty that after you next round you would get at least one item related to the category. So choosing a cleaning one would mean the next batch would have something like the mop, robot cleaner, or kitchen mat (things that clean or prevent messes). However, it is still random so you could easily end up with more napkins. At the very least it would insure that you could get something helpful. This is just me throwing ideas around, if anyone wants to take it and run with it, you are more than welcome to.
It is designed that you will continue to receive customers every few seconds unless you clear out the restaurant, up to a maximum of half your total groups
I think Jazzy should be the one to put beans on the plate (also she's the one who insist to have it lol). Because it faster to pick the pot and 'pour' to the plate than 'scope' the beans using plate. Another thing is, seems like only one person can scope the beans. The first person will get cancelled automatically when the second person try to do the same things .
Correct me if I'm wrong... At 1:16:08, was Ash able to put the beans on the plate faster when holding the pot instead of holding the plate? If so, then I feel like that's a game mechanic oversight.
So, yes, that is a thing you can do, but there is also a button you can press while holding a plate of food that will instantly put beans or sauce on it.
Side note: 1:17:00 Can’t you continue upgrading the same research desk over and over again through rounds to get different tables? I think Rik mentioned that in one of his playthroughs. It also said upgradable on the copying desk. Just a question, not trying to say that’s how it works.
To add a third comment, what price said towards the end of the run was incorrect. The game doesn't "pre-choose" which items show up. The way it works is every non-decoration day you have 5 items show up. Three of those items are "staples" which will be any three from table, counter, hob, and sink. The last two items are "extras" and will be chosen randomly from the entire list of other available items. The reason blueprint cabinets are useful is you can choose from a list of those "extras" which ones are guaranteed to show up. So essentially, one random "extra" becomes one of your choice of 10 random blueprints

Perhaps if the envelops had categories and it prioritized giving you something from a category you haven't had in awhile. Or maybe outside there are squares where you can order a category. Like put something in this square to make sure you get a cleaning thing next time or a table type etc.
There are technically two categories, "staples" which are tables, counters, sinks, and hobs and "extras" which are the base form of everything else. You always receive 3 random "staples" and 2 random "extras". There is an item called the blueprint desk that is an upgraded version of the research desk that will randomly pick blueprints throughout the day that you can "lock in" and it will be guaranteed to show up in your "extras" the next day. That's the intended way of getting around the RNG aspect of the game

Which has the problem of if you want to get around the rng you first need to get lucky with the rng. And I haven't seen it in action but unless it's just a single button press they'd be too busy to use it.

So, if you place it in the blueprint cabinet the first day, you will continue to get one every day until you purchase it. And the upgraded research desks are able to upgrade into each other in a rotation so you can always get a guaranteed one of the three of your choice
You put a plate of prepared food on the specials menu and customers will pick that food more often. So, in this case, if they had put a plain toast on it, more customers would pick just plain toast. I'm pretty sure.

Putting the research desk into the blueprint cabinet early on to change it into a blueprint desk could help out on getting what items you want/need later in the game.

That was a very good run, sad that the items you needed the most did not show up (at the right time) but I think there could be other things that you can do, eg
1. upgrade some tables to metal tables and just have the tables lined up in one column facing towards the kitchen, and the customers sit on the left of the tables. Although that has a maximum of 6 tables in a column but could use Aenne’s diagonal method to extend it further. Leave the 2 columns in front of the counter space blank so Ash and Price can walk at the same time. This way you have shorter average distance to every table, and you wont have customers pushing you.
2. Since toast is relatively easy to make, I think the second chef (Jas in this round) could be responsible for plating bread with beans (if beans was added, otherwise just brainless bread), and turn the two counters in the serving window to be prep stations, one just plain bread one with beans.

I'll tell you what I'd do with a million dollars. Two toasts at the same time man.
You know what would be helpful, if there was some sort of merchant system (don't know what else to call it) implemented into the game.
Like with the bat-phone, only it can only be used in between days (when you buy stuff). Have a little order table that you can use to purchase a request. Don't know how they would go about it, but the idea is you can ask for a certain category.
Example : Cleaning (something you desperately needed help with)
So when the day is over and you're buying things, you go over and click into the order table. There you would have category orders that you can purchase. Choosing to purchase these orders would guaranty that after you next round you would get at least one item related to the category.
So choosing a cleaning one would mean the next batch would have something like the mop, robot cleaner, or kitchen mat (things that clean or prevent messes). However, it is still random so you could easily end up with more napkins.
At the very least it would insure that you could get something helpful.
This is just me throwing ideas around, if anyone wants to take it and run with it, you are more than welcome to.

It is designed that you will continue to receive customers every few seconds unless you clear out the restaurant, up to a maximum of half your total groups
i think you can just set the candles in the tables at the begining of the day and later theyl work and it wont run out

I think Jazzy should be the one to put beans on the plate (also she's the one who insist to have it lol). Because it faster to pick the pot and 'pour' to the plate than 'scope' the beans using plate. Another thing is, seems like only one person can scope the beans. The first person will get cancelled automatically when the second person try to do the same things .

At 1:16:08, was Ash able to put the beans on the plate faster when holding the pot instead of holding the plate? If so, then I feel like that's a game mechanic oversight.
So, yes, that is a thing you can do, but there is also a button you can press while holding a plate of food that will instantly put beans or sauce on it.
Side note: 1:17:00 Can’t you continue upgrading the same research desk over and over again through rounds to get different tables? I think Rik mentioned that in one of his playthroughs. It also said upgradable on the copying desk. Just a question, not trying to say that’s how it works.
To add a third comment, what price said towards the end of the run was incorrect. The game doesn't "pre-choose" which items show up. The way it works is every non-decoration day you have 5 items show up. Three of those items are "staples" which will be any three from table, counter, hob, and sink. The last two items are "extras" and will be chosen randomly from the entire list of other available items. The reason blueprint cabinets are useful is you can choose from a list of those "extras" which ones are guaranteed to show up. So essentially, one random "extra" becomes one of your choice of 10 random blueprints

wheels, mostly because of the fact of toy cars. they are have a 4 to 2/ 18 to 2 ratio and you see way more replacements for the wheels than the doors

Kuppe means the crusty end of bread that I think Aenne is referring to. I always thought it sounded like a cuppa of bread.
Perhaps if the envelops had categories and it prioritized giving you something from a category you haven't had in awhile. Or maybe outside there are squares where you can order a category. Like put something in this square to make sure you get a cleaning thing next time or a table type etc.
There are technically two categories, "staples" which are tables, counters, sinks, and hobs and "extras" which are the base form of everything else. You always receive 3 random "staples" and 2 random "extras". There is an item called the blueprint desk that is an upgraded version of the research desk that will randomly pick blueprints throughout the day that you can "lock in" and it will be guaranteed to show up in your "extras" the next day. That's the intended way of getting around the RNG aspect of the game
@@btmikey1925 But that requires one of your two random extras to be a research desk after the guaranteed one. Which has the problem of if you want to get around the rng you first need to get lucky with the rng. And I haven't seen it in action but unless it's just a single button press they'd be too busy to use it.
@@Torlonus As long as you do not purchase the research desk, you are guaranteed to always get one every day. So, if you place it in the blueprint cabinet the first day, you will continue to get one every day until you purchase it. And the upgraded research desks are able to upgrade into each other in a rotation so you can always get a guaranteed one of the three of your choice

You put a plate of prepared food on the specials menu and customers will pick that food more often. So, in this case, if they had put a plain toast on it, more customers would pick just plain toast. I'm pretty sure.
@@whateveryoulike227 No, that is the display stand. Specials menu can be placed on a table after they order to make them randomly reorder
