A couple of corrections. When you activate a column of spell cars the first one is free no matter what position it is in. The second cost 1 mana and the third 3 mana. Tom took the wrong demand tile at 5:50 as the 2 goods tile is worth 1 point, it takes 3 goods to take the 2 point tile and 4 goods to take a 3 point tile.

Yes, my apologies. I played correctly, just said the demand part incorrect.

@@thedicetower I liked the review and agree the production is amazing but over the top. I think I enjoyed it more than you did and it has been a big hit with my game group.

Seems, he stopped doing them. There was none in Klask 4 as well.

I wish the game component drop would go away. I wonder how many hours and data i used watching these drops while rolling my eyes every time.

I did enjoy the game, but I have to agree that the symbology made me go to the rulebook a loooottt. I went and printed reference sheets to help with this though, and that really moved things along.

This game definitely delivers on the quick and fun. Looks like a mess, plays like perfection.

I think it is worth noting the ks version only changes very few things. Some foil for a few pieces and a few more components you might not notice unless someone pointed it out. As for the deluxe upgrade pack, The chits for goods become plastic molded goods and the player boards are huge and become fancy. The expansions adds 2 more players and solo with a few more components you again might never notice. The game without expansion and deluxe pack is still 99% of what this video shows.

Expansion adds 6 more captains for the base game. 2 more companies with two captains each so you end up with 18 Total. It adds a few more specialists, extra map tiles, and the metropolis tiles. Oh and It adds more end game scoring titles. It's essential in my mind. The variability it adds is immense.

Interesting, I wonder if this game a few years late, as we have now incredibly fun and simple train games, some of them - very good looking:
    1. Northern Pacific - ingenious simplicity in a box
    2. Irish Gauge - the friendliest train game I know, still quite cutthroat tho
    3. Soo Line - one of the best simple-to-medium train games I know
    4. Deluxe edition of Age of Steam - with all the complexity and potential add-ons one could want
    5. Tramways - a very unusual train game with cards, special powers (on delivery points, tho some on cards as well), with beautiful production and medium weight
I wonder if Tom will give these games a chance, but at least Northern Pacific and Tramways could be interesting for him, I think.

I really enjoy this game, I think so far its my GOTY for 2020 and it has even replaced MoV as my favorite Pick up and deliver game. (I still like MoV though)

They did a good job making the deluxe components nearly invisible on the map

If they're gonna make a box that big they should make it into an ottoman instead.

Game sounds intriguing but the map on its own looks busy and messy. Game concept sounds intriguing but not sure if I can justify nearly an entire Kallax shelf.

    Looks interesting - but a bit overproduced🙂

I do NOT understand games that use dark colors for their boards. It is so hard to see things like cubes or other smaller things (trains) sitting on them. Boards should be light; pieces should be dark.

It honestly seems a bit like foundations of Rome based on the reviews/previews. A good game, but overproduced and possibly too big for what it is.

    • @GhostKingGeorge
      @GhostKingGeorge 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

It's over produced, but I love it. It's a perfectly medium weight experience thats competitive and engaging. 45 minutes on average with 4 players. My groups plays this back to back because it plays so smoothly. The first game did take a while though.

i wll say the main thing that bothers me about this game is that you have a lot going on on your player board, and the main board LOOKS like a lot but really is incredibly simple, it bothers me that it is sooooo easy to deliver these goods, like your trains dont even have to be touching eachother, feels like it defeats the purpose of a train networking game, because your network isnt even a network, i love how you take your actions and everything about the player board, but is it work it when the actions you are doing on the main board are soooo dirt simple and not interesting at all

  • @garys4067

Wow. Between this game, Foundations of Rome, Gloomhaven, and other huge games, I'm beginning to think my father had it right- "I can play any game I want to play with a deck of 52 cards, and save a ton of money." :-)
