- This video is for your reference about how the restricted licence processes. Glad that I have passed the driving test but I would like to say I am not a perfect skilled driver as I got two critical errors during the test. Please find the end of video about those two critical errors at 50:30. My testing officer was friendly and nice as he knows I am not local, who cannot speak very well in English, but he still gave me a clear instruction through the test. Hope this video can help you guys!
Ah! One more thing that I wanna add is he didn't test me for the stop sign. Beware of this. :)

Well done for passing and congratulations. I passed my restricted test earlier this month in Auckland, My examiner was professional and friendly and we chatted throughout the test about all sort of stuff (apart from the directions), it was quite different to this test and he took me on 100 Km/h roads and ask to perform a high-speed lane change. I think there was not even a one minute he's been silent. lol I've noticed the whole test is based on points and the examiner is just ticking boxes in his iPad during the test whenever we complete a manoeuvre.
I was super nervous for mine next fortnight, but because of this video, I'm super ready! Thanks for posting!😊
I went for my restricted last month in my hometown and failed because another car had swerved in front of me (they were supposed to give way to me) but still failed. Plus the driving instructor was strict and not in a good mood that day. So I went to a different VTNZ at a another place! Hoping to get a different instructor. But guess who walks out..... Yep the one that failed me last time 😂😂 but was in a good mood that day and I passed the test 😂

I think being a Nz citizen but living in Aus Sydney , they shud have this here , As its pretty easy to get a licence here , computer test (L’s) , 40 mins (red Ps), computer test (green Ps) and then depending of age you can jus pretty much get ur fulls over the counter like i did.

Awesome driving girl! Couple years late but totally appreciate this as it lowers the nerves for me. I sit mine in 2 weeks so will probably come back to this vid for reference a couple time before I sit. Would like to say I'm sitting mine in Westport, there are no lights and no roundabouts so you should be proud if your effort in such a busy township!

This area seems so nice and quiet. I’m scared for mine because it’s around so many busy streets with many roundabouts and traffic.
You just need to remind yourself keep the distance with the car ahead of you. I got it failed when testing my full license. :) Good luck and do not be stressed.

aww good luck!! i have mine at the end of this month (28th of march) so nerve racking, Im doing my test in Hawera as I recently moved there. my anxiety is v high about it even though i still have weeks to prepare and have a few more lessons. I believe in you gorgeous! you got this! best thing you can do is try to pretend that your either driving alone or with someone your close to and trust!. you got this! fighting! let me know how you do!. and your right! if you do fail then its just a learning experience so then atleast you know what to expect for the next time you do it!
@@godchimi1884 so i went for my test today and didnt pass, but i wont let this discourage me! i have booked my next test, and my advice to you all is to make sure to check your blindspots and take your time :) its not as scary as you think, you just have to trust yourself and be confident (something i shouldve done lol). remember, the world wont end if you dont pass, and you have the freedom to try again!
very late update, but i passed my test about a month or so ago!
my best advice is to take some deep breaths beforehand (trust me, it works), and drive as if the test person is your instructor. i did this and i passed with flying colours :)
also, remember that its okay if you fail the first time. don’t let it discourage you! if you do then make sure to check the email they’ll send you with your results and what you need to work on. use this as a “cheat sheet” to fix the things you did wrong.

Twisted Strategy incorrect signal exiting a roundabout.
Taking ny test tomorrow morning! This POV made me feel a bit better as i imagined myself driving and changing down gears and when i would be checking ny blind spots etc, especially since i didnt get much practice today. Thank you!

For everyone in the comments saying they're a bit nervous or anxious about taking the test, I'd say, just act as if the instructor is a lifelong friend..picture them to be.someone your most comfortabl with, also, in NZ some instructors if not all, allow a support person BUT the support person has to be quiet at ALL times! If they talk, you get failed instantly

@@sanishthebrilliant2558 Heaps of practice driving around. I also had a lesson with an instructor the day before which I highly recommend! They took me around the two possible routes and gave me basic tips on how to drive that just made it easier.

Dont even stress about the test! I passed mine two days ago and tbh I was overthinking it all. I only got one critical error and that was going too slow. The build up to the test is the worse part!

The test was very thorough and very similar to the UK, traffic light sequences are different to the UK, slightly!

I thought you were only allowed 1 critical error? That's what my driving instructor told me. I managed to pass mine first time too. I was so surprised as everyone else in my family (apart from my dad) had to try again!
it's two critical errors allowed.
It’s the full license test where you’re only allowed 1 critical error.

I’m so nervous for mine. I’ve had my learners since 16 and am now 21 but still don’t have my restricted because i know I haven’t practiced enough so I just bought some lessons but still nervous. It’s nice to see this and have a rough idea of what to expect. Plus I didn’t even realise VTNZ did tests too. I thought it was just AA.

@@Yingggxd I failed right at the end because of Failure to Give Away.... I was creeping out of an intersection and I drove to the other side but just as I was crossing a lady pulled out from the curb and went full throttle almost hitting the side of my car... however I had no other errors 😭😭

You can try to practice the area around there. It should be alright for you. Hope you will get your license first
@@Yingggxd Bit late but thanks. Also just wondering, what speed were you going at during the first part of the area? Because I've been around there and it seems theres no speed sign telling you? I know that the main road is 50km/h but into the smaller streets I'm not sure.
main road as in Church road? iirc.
@@neonbladez1583 Usually 50 limit for this area. You can drive between 43-48 should be fine.

I watched this video 3 times before my restricted test today and I aced it! Until I was 20 seconds away from VTNZ at the end and almost hit with a damn cyclist... my officer screamed... instant fail :D
That was unlucky mate due to the cyclist. I failed my full license driving as well due to the car suddenly stopping that made me almost hit his back. Thanks to them.

This video is informative! I took my exam yesterday and I PASSED! I had one critical error which is-You must not turn wide and cross lane markings.
When I did the parallel parking my instructor told me to turn around, instead, I drove straight ahead 😂 but that’s not a critical nor minor error. My route changes immediately when I did not turn around 😂
You mean your driving instructor wanted you to do a 3-point turn/U-turn instead of a parallel park?
