  • A playthrough of Capcom's 1987 NES game, Trojan.
I believe I got all of the secret items. I managed to not die and get both power ups, making the last boss kind of easy. Awesome game.

I haven't seen or thought of this game in over 30 years. I used to have this. Got hit hard with flashbacks when watching this. Almost like a deja vu experience. Crazy. Completely forgot about Trojan.

i was about to write the exact same thing. i feel like i must have beaten it pretty easily, because i remember the ending with the bosses' names. i'm also just now making the connection that capcom might have recycled Goblin 11:30 as Blanka in street fighter?

Trojan is definitely an oldie, but it's a good action game. It's amazing how difficult the game is - at least until you've beaten it a few times. Then it gets easier and more fun to look for the secrets. I loved this one!

Oh man, I grew up in Sweden and had a friend who used to play this a lot. I don't think he could ever get to the final level, so I have never seen the game getting beaten before. So it's hilarious to me to watch someone stomp through it in 12 minutes.
I just remembered that Trojan existed this week because Tim Rogers brought it up in his 3 hour long Pacman review. Which reminded me of those hours of childhood memories. So I just had to see the game again. It's funny how watching a youtube video of an old NES game can take me back in time to the simpler times when I was 6 years old and thinking back to a friend I haven't met for 20 years.

Plus there was an arcade version down at the grocery store I would bring all my quarters with me and ask my parents to go with them every time they would go to the store. I never did beat the one at the store?

Weird thing about this game: when you play it through emulation it's one of the few examples (maybe the only one) where the music plays WAY faster on the PAL version (don't ask me why, it's totally illogical and I don't have any explanation for this, just try it yourselves).
The music in the US rom feels sooooooo slow to me, but to be honest, even if I grew up with the PAL version, the music of the rom also feels too fast when played on an emulator. There just seems to be no way to get it right.
