Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
One of Capcom's arcade releases with which I was not familiar, Trojan could be perceived as the missing link between Kung Fu Master and Vigilante.
This side-scroller is definitely cut from the same cloth as Item's games, albeit equipping the hero with a sword and shield, instead of pure martial arts skills.
It's also not very good. The gameplay is uninspired, the graphics somewhat drab, and possessing a difficulty curve which becomes more of a vertical line in later levels. Trojan is probably worth checking out, but only if you've never experienced it; one you have, you probably won't come back for more.

"Peace will probably return to this world again"
Well, that's reassuring. 😂
It looks like if Double Dragon and Ghosts 'n Goblins had a baby
🤣 🤣 🤣
I said the same thing on an NES speedrun video lol!
Always loved the atmosphere in this one.
Reminds me of Fist Of The North Star in some ways.
It is inspired by FOTNS
This was one of my favourite arcade games back in the day..
Dads real music
You can actually lose your sword and shield if you block certain attacks. This would result in your character punching and kicking, adding to the feel of Kung Fu Master. I saw this game once at a place called Photon in Virginia Beach and my cousin had the NES version
I would always block the power ball attack so I could fight with the kicks and the punches. Was way more fun that way.
Thank you for playing!
The music of that era of Capcom was MAXIMUM. Whenever I put a game like Speed Rumbler in my cab it’s so loud 😂
I just realised that Two Crude Dudes has some similarities to this- ruined New York in the background, armadillo enemy and enemy with extending hand
I had TROJAN for my PlayStation 2 with
a compilation called
CAPCOM CLASSIC COLLECTION.
That game is hard and frustrating 😹🕹️.
The only best games, i have ever played
in that compilation, are COMMANDO
and BIONIC COMMANDO 😺👍🕹️.
Lo mejor de lo mejor!!!
I never knew that your hero Trojan's name is Ryu! Very sweet with the good battles!
If NES Batman and Zelda 2 had a baby? Trojan.
I like how the life counter doesn't count to ten despite having two digits in its counter.
And how many early games have score counters with more digits than is possible to reach.
You have finally
Good luck
excelente
Never seen this at the arcades back then.
It's been developed on the Amiga, probably I will play it there when finished 🙂
Actually, as i remember correctly,
it never came out on the Commodore 64 nor Amiga 😹👍🕹️.
Although, it does remind me of
TIGER ROAD 😺👍🕹️.
@@ArttuTheCat Indeed. SEGA and Capcom titles were doomed on these machines, as USGold were the publishers. At least we had Elite on the Amstrad, and Commando was great.
Excelente game😊
Basically Trojan war in post-appocalyspe
I had the NES version, only after emulation I found it was an original arcade title. I like it a lot but I agree it has little replay value.
Wow Pixel Perfect 😲
The hero’s name is also Ryu.
Kind of reminds me of ghouls and ghosts.
闘いの挽歌?
Roman soldiers in a futuristic setting? I'll take it. Looks fun for a short while but looks more like an arcade game you play once and then say, "I've beaten it, don't feel the need to play this again".
It's Irem, not Item. 😜😉🙃
That I remember. What a shame, cause it looks like garbage.
I never understood this fascination in the 80s of having enemies smash through walls when they’re doors 2 feet to one side.
it’s the thrill 🤣 🤣 🤣
Because it’s badass. That’s why.
@@psyberiusblack this is true.
