Same for us, they put the pieces in the trunk. I don’t know why you pay a car this price and they can’t put this on, I understand for the rear one you can only use them for track day but still, they should have found a way to make them fit without having to take them on and off. Alot of sports cars/super cars have this kind of breaks cooling system like Porsche and you don’t have to remove any parts of the system for daily drivability.
@HorsePowerObsessed No they where not didn't realize this until I got home I was showing off the car to my wife and daughter when I noticed the parts in the trunk. The dealership told me these items where to be installed on by the owner for track use only and I told then I believe the fronts should have been installed at the dealership but as dealerships go this argument was a losing battle.
These come with the eray as well. One of the handouts (i think the performance handout) mentions NOT to run them on the street in order to prevent debris from getting caught and striking the carbon brakes 🤷♂️
I’ve heard that those are for track use only and they don’t recommend you to use them on the road because garbage/leaves could get stuck in them and catch fire.
Thanks for posting. Made me go out and look under my '24Z. Didn't recall seeing these when I picked up the car. After looking underneath closely, the front and rears were installed. I think I may remove the rear bottom half so my CCBs don't get pelted if they haven't already after 3k miles on my Z.
Good video! I just got my MY24 Z06/Z07 three weeks ago and I never took all the parts out of the plastic bag the dealer showed me when I bought the car. I assumed it was much like how they worked on my MY23 Z51 that I traded in. I went out to the garage and pulled the parts out of the bag and was like, wait a minute, I only see the parts for the rears which after watching this video, I knew what parts went where and what they looked like. I thought for a moment, wait a minute, did the dealer actually install the front ducts when they were installing the rakes and my front radiator guards? I went to get a flashlight and sure enough, that what they did. They installed the front brake ducts but put the rears in the bag. Good job on that one! Classic Elite in Sugarland, Texas. Thanks for the video!
Great video Justin. If you haven’t done so already (I haven’t cause we don’t have a track anymore) to burnish/bed in your carbon ceramic brakes/rotors to avoid brake fade on track. Hope this friendly reminder helps you or any of your viewers. Have fun and stay safe.
Like others have said I heard for track only. That being said now seeing it I can’t see installing the fronts having any negative effects. Time to install mine 😁.
100%. The fronts are supposed to be installed by the dealership and the rears can be 90% installed just remove the bottoms so nothing gets slung at your rotors and you're good to go!
Hey love your content. Just purchased the CSA splash guard through your site. Hope I could install it myself. Also plan on doing those front dust break thing later on
I appreciate it, man! Thank you for the support! You'll definitely be able to install them yourself, super easy to do. I have a video tutorial if you haven't seen it yet for these exact splash guards: th-cam.com/video/kqkRlwFgmNU/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for video , I’ll have to look at mine I’m not sure to be honest if they are installed w museum delivery. I am pretty sure the rear is not but maybe the fronts are.
100%. The fronts should be installed based on what I was told. There is no reason to not install the front coolers but you can also do half of the rears to have them 90% ready.
Like I said above the fronts absolutely should be installed. They are not just for track use because they are good for even spirited driving there’s no reason to not have them installed.
hey HPO. Been loving the frequent uploads. I was just curious, did you PPF and Ceramic wrap your entire car? or was it just the front? Also did you also do it to your rims/aftermarket splitter/parts?
I appreciate it, man! I love the car and I love sharing the xperience with you guys! The full car is PPF'd and ceramic coated. The aftermarket splitter/spoiler is ppf'd and ceramic coated as well and the wheels are just ceramic coated.
Great video. I just checked my bag and NCM installed the front and the rear except for the rear 2 piece ducts. So, it will be easy to add those before the track. Are you going to add the long air rails before the track? (Not sure what those rails are called).
That’s awesome that they actually gave you what you should have installed from the factory. That’s the first one that I’ve heard of. Those are called strakes and I think I will be adding them if I can
Chuck on Rick. Conti TH-cam channel the tech Tuesday does not put him on unless. you're going to the track. They don't put them on. because when you buy the car, it's not going to the track. until you go to the track, you put them on then That's what he told his audience. And he has a Corvette mechanic only. I believe the reasoning behind that is if you hit a speed bumps, or unlevel roads, can knock them right off.
Exactly. That’s why I left the bottom parts of the rear ducts off. The front ones are supposed to be installed at the dealership though because there’s no risk of anything.
Chuck is a fantastic mechanic indeed yet Justin brings out the concept that assuming you are not tracking keeping the scoop portion off and the fronts can be done. Except right before tracking then the rear scoop portion or bottom portion can be installed. Good info for sure and I like knowing this info.
@HorsePowerObsessed If I'm remembering correctly, Andrew form CSP had a video where he picked up some leaves or a wrapper that was picked up in the rear scoop and was smoking due to the heat on one of his rear brakes.
Were yours installed from the dealership? 🤔

Yeah it’s a shame but luckily they aren’t too bad to install yourself.
That's just the rear ones which is why I only installed part of it in the rear. The rest of them should be installed from the dealership.
My dealer installed my fronts and I have the rear ducts in the delivery bag…good video ….always nice to know my dealer did a great pdi…
Very nice!

Exactly the way to do it! Awesome that yours were installed though!
Yep, mine were also in the zip lock bag!

Good to know some of the dealers are doing it right!!
Good Job!! Glad you installed them!! Look GREAT!! 😊
Thanks, dear!!
100% luv em ! #HPO *** Will Need Them Going 200MPH., On The Highways In MEXICO ,😮😮!!! My MAN aka*** JUSTIN W. CORVETTE 🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!!!!!
Fronts were installed, rears weren't.
Hi. For the rear brake duct cooler you can install a screen mesh on the front of the scoop to avoid rocks go inside and hit the brake rotor.
I was thinking about doing that!
That’s a really great idea. I am definitely doing that, protecting the CCBs with some mesh would be a great value.
Justin Thanks for the information on brake ducts!! Keep up the fantastic work!!👍🏽
Thanks! Will do!
Great information. Keep up the good work.

@@HorsePowerObsessed Nice!
Is there a proper procedure for doing this?
@@cjsnylonsIt explains the process in the owner’s manual on page 256.
Good Luck
My dealership installed both front and rear. I took the rears off as soon as I got it home and saw them.
Dana White doing a fine job, as usual! 😂
He’s great isn’t he?!
I was told they should be installed for track use only. If you are not tracking you don’t need them
The fronts should be installed based on what I was told. There is no reason to not install the front coolers.
Mine were NOT installed! Thanks so much for the video!
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the valuable information!
You're quite welcome!

The fronts are the ones that SHOULD be on. The rears I understand leaving off.
Great job Justin
Thank you!!
I believe at least the front ones should have been installed at the dealership before delivery the same thing happen to camaro owners also.
100%. The fronts should be installed based on what I was told. There is no reason to not install the front coolers but you can also do half of the rears to have them 90% ready.
Not installed at the R8C delivery. They told me NOT to install them (no parts) unless you are tracking the car for the rock collector reason.

Definitely. You can safely install 90% of the coolers without issue.

100% correct. Make it easier on yourself for if you ever do take it to the track.
Nice video.
Thank you!!
Rears are track use only
That's why you install half of it like I did here.
Mine were instaĺed by my dealership. I had to remove the rear scoops when i got home.
Yeah the rears hang pretty low plus any rocks that get in there would just sandblast the rotors.
@HorsePowerObsessed If I'm remembering correctly, Andrew form CSP had a video where he picked up some leaves or a wrapper that was picked up in the rear scoop and was smoking due to the heat on one of his rear brakes.
Wouldn't it be easier to install a mesh in the rear ones and let them installed the whole time?
Yup. I’m thinking I might do that.
These bots don't even make sense, good job Ai
lol I thought the same thing...
HPO, Thanks. You would think the dealer would explain these and give you an option at delivery. GM service=below the line.
100% accurate! They sell the cars but have no idea how to maintain them!
@@HorsePowerObsessed There might be a business opportunity there?
