Finally getting to see that area up close! I did explore Shartlesville, ate at the famous Haag's Hotel, and also the Blue Mountain Restaurant. Saw Roadside America twice.
I had no idea the French and Indian War went that far up into Pa.I always associated it with Fort Necessity and places out here in Western Pa. Beautiful scenery and safe drive home. Watch out for deer.
I really enjoy your channel. Very informative. A related issue: The roadside historical markers in PA do not permit easy access by car. In the west, you can park and read them. If there was a movement to create better access to PA’s roadside markers, I would support it! Thanks again for all you do!
That video was awesome. The area is gorgeous. Those views were incredible. Trees looking good, nice and green. Thank you for taking me along. Please take care
My direct ancestor, Johann Micheal Herdlein (Hertlein, Hartline) with his family, settled near Woodchopper Town, Berks County after arriving from the Bavarian Alps in 1737 …
I love the channel! I love history and I love when you go down the “rabbit holes” of history. Love living in PA and love exploring our rich history! Thank you.
I have the same thoughts about footwear when watching videos of hikers on the AT. How did the Indians or runaway slave cover the same ground without high tech footwear.
my brother attended a track and field sport summer training camp in the blue mtns for Dunmore h.s. track team small town h.s. sports serious in Pa.esp. FB.
I'm not familiar with this area at all. I did spend some time searching for Ft Robinson on the Juniata but couldn't find it. I would like to go to more F&I and fort sites.
In warm weather for sure. I missed what he said the weather was like, and looks like it was filmed a month ago, so probably not a big concern that day.
Wouldn't your local library or historians ( can Google) know any history of the mountains or trails as well. Like who made the steps , someone must know the history. Good luck.

Very cool, I live further up the Blue Mtns and the local forts were Fort Everett and Fort Franklin.
Intriguing search. Sure wouldn't want to take a tumble up there. Wow!
Great video another wonderful adventure in history I didn't know

How close are you to the old scout camp Shikellamy?
Several miles.
Did you ever build a fort up on Round Top?
Nope
You are so good at explaining & exploring.
Can you please put the map on longer as we can not see it. Thanks
Just pause the video and you can look at the map as long as you want.
Cliff are rattlesnakes or copperheads ever a concern among all those shady rocks?
In warm weather for sure. I missed what he said the weather was like, and looks like it was filmed a month ago, so probably not a big concern that day.
On a warmer day they would be.
That's a beautiful place. Too bad about all of that horrible traffic noise.
